Ayumu Uehara is the main protagonist of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. She is 16 years old and a second year in Nijigasaki High School. Ayumu was born in March 1 and is a Pisces. She is distinguishable by a semi short hairstyle, a hair bun with a tiny braid around it, and hairpins on her right side of her head. Her main image color is pink. She is 159 centimeters tall, and her blood type is A. She is the center of A・ZU・NA, sub-unit under Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Her solo song album is Yume e no Ippo, Kaika Sengen, Say Good-Bye Namida and Dream with You.

She is voiced by Aguri Ōnishi in Japanese and Suzie Yeung in English.

Background

Ayumu is Yu Takasaki's best friend and childhood friend, stumbled upon a school idol performance for the first time, a new path would suddenly appear in Ayumu's world. Ayumu likes to put effort toward everything, especially as a school idol. She did her early activities at the Famitsu App website and is described as a "hard-working type school idol".

Ayumu is the hardworking girl that she put her everything into what she does. She is very collected, calm, kind, innocent, and sincere.

Notes

• In the fandom community-created memes (and in some extent, fanfictions), Ayumu is memetically depicted as a yandere akin to the fans' interpretation of You Watanabe in Love Live! Sunshine!!, as both characters are childhood friends who had shown some jealously to their friends (Yuu Takasaki, Chika Takami) interacting with other girls (Riko Sakurauchi, Setsuna Yuki), though the former had shown some outburst to Yuu in a clingy manner.
  • Her voice actress, Aguri Onishi, would later embrace this by playing as a clingy/jealous type of character on Twitter, where she jokingly responses with humorous threats towards other voice actresses that interacts with Hinaki Yano (Yu Takasaki's VA).
