Azteca is the secondary female character in the 1998 film Antz. She is a kind female worker ant who is the female best friend of Z. She was also the love interest, later girlfriend of Weaver.
She was voiced by Jennifer Lopez who later voiced Shira in the Ice Age franchise.
Her story
After Weaver took Z's place as a worker (as Z posed as a soldier to get to meet Princess Bala again), she was quickly impressed by Weaver's muscles and the two quickly fell in love. Both are at first sad when they hear that the Queen Ant's most loyal soldiers (which Z was part of) were killed in a battle against termites. However, they are overjoyed when they see that Z survived the battle.
When Weaver was interrogated about the whereabouts of Z and Bala, the latter's fianćee General Mandible threatened to harm Azteca, causing Weaver to reveal the location of Z, which he felt guilty about afterwards.
After Mandible's Mega Tunnel was opened and caused water to enter (as Mandible wished to wipe out the Queen and the worker ants in order to start a new colony), Azteca helped hold up a tower of ants along with Z, Weaver and several others.
After Z realized that there were not enough ants, he and Azteca climbed to the top while Weaver nearly held up the whole tower on his own.
Azteca helped Z reach the ceiling and Z dug his way out. After that, Azteca was arm-in-arm with Weaver as they cheered Z.
