~ Azura appearing into action, Fire Emblem: Warriors |
Azura (Aqua in Japanese) is the deuteragonist of Fire Emblem Fates.
Born a princess of Valla, she is the daughter of Queen Arete, who, alongside her mother, escaped from the kingdom after Anankos' insane self attacked Valla. She became the step-daughter of King Garon of Nohr after Arete was married to him. Later, she was captured and held prisoner by Hoshido.
Her speaking voice was provided by Lynn, and her singing voice was provided by Renka in the Japanese version. In the English version, both her speaking and singing voices were provided by Rena Strober.
Appearance[]
Azura is a young woman with very long sky blue hair and yellow eyes. She wears a white headdress and a white gown and she also walks barefoot like Corrin.
Her other Songstress outfit is a dark blue version of her usual outfit in addition to her left hip being covered up and wearing a dark blue face mask.
Bio[]
Born on 3/3. Azura is a Vallite princess who was forced to run from Valla with her mother, Arete, after Anankos' insane self started rampage over the kingdom. Later, Azura became a princess of Nohr after Arete married Nohr's king, Garon.
Azura and Arete were horribly mistreated by Garon's harem, because they hated that Arete was replacing the previous queen, Katerina. They even forbade Xander, Camilla, and Leo from ever getting close with Azura. One day, Arete died after openly telling Azura about Valla, knowing the curse would kill her, but wanted Azura to know about the kingdom. Azura was then left all alone, still forced to separate herself away from her Nohrian step-siblings.
One day, Azura was kidnapped by Shura and his gang in exchange for Corrin. However, Garon did not desire to give Corrin back to Hoshido, so Azura was raised by Queen Mikoto in Hoshido. Secretive and hides her emotions, but kind and wise. Her songs help her allies on the battlefield. A restless sleeper.

Trivia[]
- Despite Azura being considered the deuteragonist, the development team actually considers her to be the main protagonist just as much as they do Corrin. In the West, conversely, Corrin is instead mainly considered to be the protagonist due to them being meant to be the visual reflection of the player, resulting in the level of control and customization for them to be much higher.
- Azura draws many parallels to Lady Nimue in Arthurian legends. Both are considered key women in their respective stories, are responsible for giving the protagonists key weapons (a Dragonstone and Excalibur respectively), and both have the epitaph of "Lady of the Lake."
- In the Heirs of Fate DLC, her portrait is altered to where she is not wearing her pendant, while Shigure's is also changed to where he instead is wearing it.
