James "Jimmy" Smith Jr., better known as B-Rabbit, is the main protagonist of the 2002 film 8-Mile.

He's a young and talented underground rapper who seeks to make a name for himself and escape his life of poverty. Thoughout the film, he and his friends in the Three One Third crew come into conflict with rival gang Free World, which eventually culminates in Rabbit batting Papa Doc and his crew in a series of rap battles, emerging victorious and gaining the respect of those who witnessed it all unfold.

Biography[]

TBA.

Appearance[]

Rabbit is a young caucasian man of average height in his early 20s. He's typically seen wearing a beanie, hoodie, and sweatpants. When he's not seen wearing a beanie, he has short brown hair.

Personality[]

Throughout the movie, Jimmy is seen to be extremely determined to make a name for himself as a rapper, desiring the respect and admiration of the people at The Shelter, an underground club he frequently visits in order to engage in rap battles. Despite this determination, he was initially very nervous as seen when he "chokes" and forfeits his first match at the start of the film. Regardless, he doesn't give up and eventually overcomes his fear, successfully taking down Papa Doc and his crew in a series of rap battles in the finale of the film.

Outside of rapping, Rabbit enjoys hanging out with his friends in the Three One Third crew and is extremely loyal to them. This is shown when Cheddar Bob accidentally shoots himself in the leg with his own gun. Rabbit immediately runs over to him and helps rush him to the hospital. He's later seen scolding his friends as they're arguing, telling them Cheddar Bob's safety should be their main concern. He's also very protective of his family. When Greg Buehl shoves Jimmy and Lily's mother after finding an eviction notice, he immediately pushes him away and gets into a fight with him, defending his mother and comforting a scared Lily after everything was over with.
