B. M. Werken, also known as Professor Werken, is the deuteragonist of the 2009 video game CID the Dummy. He is a scientist who used to be colleagues with D. Troit, but after a failed experiment involving a prototype of the ESS system and the death of his daughter Mia, the two became bitter rivals.
Biography[]
Prior to the events of the game, B. M. Werken and D. Troit used to be colleagues. After one of their experiments involving an ESS prototype goes wrong, Werken's daughter Mia dies due to a fatal accident. Werken revived her using what was left of her DNA and an ESS chip to create a Crash Test Dummy out of her. After Mia had been kidnapped by D. Troit, Werken created CID the Dummy and equipped him with the latest ESS system so he could defeat D. Troit and rescue his daughter.
Throughout the game, Professor Werken will teach CID how to use his various abilities he obtained through the ESS system. He had also explained to CID on what happened to his daughter Mia and why him and D. Troit became enemies. After D. Troit is defeated, Mia is freed and the three go back home.
Trivia[]
- Like how D. Troit is similar to that of Dr. Wily, B. M. Werken is similar to that of Dr. Light from Mega Man due to having a similar backstory about being former colleagues with the villain and becoming rivals later on.
