King Babar is the main protagonist of the Babar franchise. He is currently king of Celesteville, an African village for Elephant he founded to give his people the same level of comfort as man. Babar has a with named Celeste, whom he named his village after and has three children named Pom, Flora, and Alexander. Babar was taken in by an old lady often simply addressed as Madame and invited her to live in his kingdom as one of it's most honored citizens. The majority of Babar's problems after the first book which focuses on building the city itself as a haven for his people, is everyday issues of how to solve social problems or having to do with exotic adventures.
