There are two baby birds who were shot dead in the Fleischer and Famous Studios version of the cartoon, Song of the Birds:
Robin
In the Fleischer version of the cartoon, a baby robin was shot down by the boy with his rifle. This made all the robins go into mourning. When the boy had a remorse on the corpse, he is sorry for doing so by praying. This made rain go onto the bird's corpse, brought back to life. The bird reveals to be stunned. The other robins feel happy and the boy feels happy with the revived bird by giving it bird food after destroying the rifle and befriending the birds.
Bluebird
Unlike in the Fleischer version, the bird that Little Audrey shot was a bluebird when having too much time with the rifle. When little Audrey goes to bed, she notices all the woodland animals and plants (such as an owl, crows, hummingbirds, flowers, two rabbits, and a tree with the sign "Weeping Willow") in mourning. The event is actually a funeral. Audrey was sorry for shooting the innocent bird. Aside from the animals, the moon also feels sad. Before the burial, it made rain go onto the forest. This revived the dead bird, revealing to be stunned. The animals and plants don't believe that Audrey apologizes to befriend the birds, also giving the resurrected baby bird food.
