Biography[]
The Golden Quest[]
After Jonny receives a call from his mother Rachel Quest to tell his father that that 3-DAC received a call from Intelligence-One and is coded Geronimo.
At the Mexican Quest HQ, Bandit watches as Commander Burns tells Benton that during the adventure in the Southern Hemisphere, Race Bannon has been instructed to remain armed at all times and a world-ranking biologist must accompany them. Dr. Quest knows his wife will be perfect for this job.
Once Burns patched them through the I-One headquarters in Peru, they are greeted by a general who told Team Quest about strange mutations occuring in a remote region of the rainforest.
When Race asks why she was in the Peruvian rainforest, Jade explains she ran into some of the mutations that were reported a few weeks back and called I-One, making her the civilian contact, she calls it the fastest 5000 bucks she made.
After Zin kidnaps the Quest parents and creates a clone of himself, Race and the boys invade the lab to save the Quest parents.
After Jonny knocks out a scientist to free his parents, and Benton is thrown a gun by Race, Hadji uses his magic to seal a door only for Snipe to get through. When his lab was being destroyed, a strange man swipes a cd and runs for it. Just then, Zin recaptures Rachel and flies off.
Jonny drives in the truck to try and save his mother from Zin who shoots at them until they are blocked by a group of animals. When Jonny uses a grappling hook on Zin’s craft. Dr. Quest tries to shoot at Zin, but he uses her as a shield. When Zin tries to escape with her on a copter, it gets caught in the magma, killing both.
This event upsets Jonny where he asks his father why he did not shoot. Benton reasons he would've hit her, but this does not make Jonny feel better as he felt Benton let his mother die. Back at the lab, Jonny throws rocks while Bandit and Hadji watch.
Dr. Quest then orders 3-DAC to shut the compound down permanently. 3-DAC says that she put up with Bandit’s harassment for the past six years. Hadji pulls Bandit from the computer while Dr. Quest 3-DAC that he will be taking her with his group. She then begins the shutdown while Benton goes to check on Jonny. Hadji then tells Race that there must be something to be done to make Jonny change his mind who asks Hadji to let him know if he thinks of something.
Just then Hadji offers to take Jonny and Bandit into town which he accepts readily. Benton asks Race if he could have made that shot to save his wife, Race replies no one would’ve made it and he must stop blaming himself as Jonny is doing enough of that for both of them and must face his demons himself.
In town, Hadji shows Jonny and Bandit the Day of the Dead festival which was an old Mexican celebration which Jonny’s mother would've loved and used to see the Mardi Gras with Jonny and Hadji. Not long after, they witness two men mugging a young girl named Jessie over a parcel and come to save her and retreat from the muggers.
At the police station, after Jessie retreated without the mask she had, Race and Benton learn it was part of a smuggling operation. Benton also thanks Agent Mendez for releasing the boys from their cell after they’ve driven off in a car to escape.
When Agent Mendez asks Benton to look into the gold smuggling case, Benton refuses as he was retired. He reprimands Jonny for the trouble he got himself into.
When they examined the mask, it was discovered it was too sharp to have come from any dynasty and had 3-DAC analyze it. Just then, a replicant begins to spy on them as they analyze it and it sabotages the security system to infiltrate the lab by showing a golden ring commercial.
The mask was discovered to be 100% pure gold despite being a counterfeit. When Race begins to investigate the problem, he gets trapped in the vacuum chamber by the replicant so it can steal the mask. When all other options failed, Race crashed the prototype plane through the glass to escape.
Hadji and Jonny check on Race and find he is okay and notice the damage the replicant made. Just then they find Bandit who was able to protect the mask from the replicant who was forced to escape. When Jonny looks at the replicant’s headgear after dropping it, he finds that Dr. Zin was still alive and that the Zin who died was a clone. Zin then proceeds to declare his intent to regain the gold-processing secret he lost.
Benton realizes that if Zin is after the mask, and must have been involved with the making of the gold. Jonny realises that this is his chance to find Zin again. When Jonny asks if they are going after him, Dr. Quest insists another agency takes this job up. Jonny was unwilling to let Zin get away with murder, but Dr. Quest wants to protect the family which Jonny says is Race’s job. Jonny wants to find Zin before the trail gets too cool.
Just then a policeman brings Jessie to the building in order for her to hear her story. She shows them a photo of Dr. Vincent Devlon, claiming him to be her father who went into hiding when he started to make gold. She does not know where he is and she was going to get the ask to a friend of his so this friend can get the gold patented and the two of them could become a family again.
She lived in boarding schools for most of her life and never got to know him, she could not divulge whom she was going to deliver the mask to. However Dr. Quest explains that Dr. Zin is coming after this secret. Jessie could only explain if she came along. She also asks Jonny if his father was in trouble he would save him. Something he reluctantly admits.
The policeman explains the gold process could throw the world into a panic and Devlon must be found before Dr. Zin could. Dr. Quest then decides to take responsibility for Jessie and brings Team Quest back in business but just for standard surveillance and no pointless risks.
The officer then welcomes Dr. Quest back into action and calls HQ. Jessie explains that the mask was to be delivered to a man named Chikara in Tokyo. What they do not know is that Dr. Zin was watching their moves as they sought out Dr. Devlon and the gold formula.
In Downtown Tokyo. Jessie explains to Jonny that she was never in Japan, but went to the Ice Capades one. The address Vincent supposedly sent her was on this street and should be close by. Shortly after they get there, an explosion occurs in the building and the adult members of Team Quest investigate while Bandit and the kids witness replicants taking Chikara into Zin’s van as hostage.
Jonny follows them against his father’s wishes. Jonny ignores him, saying that Race will pursue them then ask questions. Jessie and Hadji reluctantly follow him. When Dr. Quest and Race spot Jonny and Hadji riding the ice boats, Race tells Benton that he will go after them on a motor sled. After Chikara gets killed in the failed attempt and Jade was seen driving Dr. Zin's van. Jessie calls what Jonny did brave. But Dr. Quest called it foolhardy. When Jonny asks if they make a great team. Race does not call this bad. With the death of Chikara and Jade apparently on Zin’s side, Jonny asks about the next move. Race remembers her wanting to tell him something back in Peru. Hadji believes she was going to warn them about Zin. Race declares that the only way to know is to pick up the trail.
Benton does not like how dangerous the situation was and Race agrees as he can move faster without Jonny. Benton laments the loss of their only lead to Devlon and 3-DAC must be scanned for a new tact. Hadji laments how angry Jonny was with his father and might blow his top, Benton tells him he is doing what he can and must work it out. Jessie then tells them that she will meet them back at the hotel. When she catches up with Jonny, he remarks on how she handles herself and she points out he is rude about his ignorance towards his father.
Dr. Quest asks Hadji to leave Jonny alone with Jessie for a while. At the hotel, Dr. Quest asks 3-DAC about what he finds odd in the case as he asks where Jessie’s supposed father is making the gold yet she seems to know little about him and has his picture scanned. When Dr. Quest asks about metallurgical associations he might be involved with, she responds with “Negative”, Dr. Quest then proceeds to start with what they knew by asking for all word clusters beginning with the word gold. Due to Bandit’s mishap with 3-DAC, the program malfunctions, but still manages to provide some help.
Dr. Quest laments that Jonny was viewing Race as more of a father than him, Race explains that he is no match for him and must be given time. Just then, 3-DAC brings up the topic of alchemy which turns metal into gold and the historical painter Leonardo da Vinci.
Leonardo da Vinci was believed to have been dabbling in alchemy and brought up several experts on da Vinci and Devlon was one of them. He was a Ph.D from Universita De Roma. Dr. Quest also realises that Devlon was a computer expert. Just then Race remembers that I-One investigated a heist of da Vinci papers last year from Musee D’Art de Paris, but there were no leads.
In Paris, Race suggests taking Jessie to a horror movie. When Jonny asks why, Race tells him that if she gets scared by a ghost, she will get scared and stick close to him. Just then, the replicant attacks Jonny, and Hadji. However Jessie saves them and helps trap the replicant in a curtain. Just then the replicant dies and Race tells them they must head to the museum. Once there, the guard explains he does not remember anything from the theft. Dr. Quest equips him with the Synapse-Imager to help him remember.
It has been revealed that Dr. Devlon was the thief who injected a chemical in the guard to wipe his memories, an angry Bandit makes a futile leap at him. Fast forwarding to the actual theft, Dr. Quest notices that da Vinci encoded a formula in one of the drawings for making gold. However he needed an incredible power source such as the sun in order to make it. Jonny realizes nuclear energy could do the trick needed to process gold. Dr. Quest then decides to ask 3-DAC about potential thefts of uranium-235.
On the plane to Rome, Dr. Quest laments 3-DAC behaviour as a result of Bandit biting its power pack. 3-DAC reports the six thefts of uranium across the planet over the past two year. Four sets have been recovered, one set was stolen by a known terrorist group still at large, and one set was still missing. The sixth one was taken from a Roman university lab.
In Rome, it was explained that the theft of the uranium from Universita di Roma there was three months ago. It was explained that the brilliant Devlon never showered and was seen around the campus doing research on a book. He always comes in at night, the professor does not know if he is in the area and suggests they come later to see the librarian at night.
As soon as they leave, nearby construction workers attack the group in an act of attempted murder. But Hadji uses his magic to send their loose cables back in their direction. This forced two of them to dodge when the cables reached the telephone pole they were at and made it explode. The heroes proceed to flee to the van while outrunning the workers who were armed with guns. Partway through the chase, one of the workers falls from the construction vehicle they’ve used to chase the heroes and lands with a woman being seen on his lap, remarking on how Italians were romantic.
This was not over however as the remaining workers continued to chase the Quest Team until their contact with a bridge caused them to fly from their vehicle and into a fountain while the construction vehicle exploded. After these workers were taken into custody by Intelligence-One, they were actual employees who were not Zin’s cronies, but Devlon who turns out was in the area. They were bribed into keeping quiet about power fluctuations and brownouts throughout the city and had always contacted them.
Dr. Quest believes Devlon was tapping into the electrical power of the city to fire up the process of nuclear smelting. After talking with Race about this, Dr. Quest asks Jessie to find Jonny and tell him the good news.
Jonny was shown practicing with a laser gun where Hadji laments that the way Jonny shoots, Elvis would’ve had a hit before he did as he was missing his shots. Just then Jessie arrives to inform Jonny that her “father” was in the area. Hadji tells Jonny to hurry before Zin finds Devlon. Jonny imagines the targets as Dr. Zin and shoots at them before shooting the chain and hiding the projectile weapon in his pant leg.
They then head to a restaurant where Bndit gets into some mishief with the chef while the Quest Team tries to factor out the location of the next brownout. Dr, Quest is concerned that this might take too long and Zin might get there first. Jonny also reminds Hadji of a science project he did last year, reasoning it could help find Devlon with this same basic idea.
Before setting off, Dr. Quest remarks that Jessie helped Jonny in a way he was not able to and Race suggested that Benton finds a way to get through to him with the latter wishing he knew how. The trick to finding Devlon involves riding several magnetic bikes to find Devlon’s forcefield. The team splits into pairs of two consisting of Hadji and Race, Jessie and Jonny, and Benton and Bandit. When Jonny gets a strong reading in the Piazza Di Roma, meaning Devlon might be close. However, this also leads to metallic eating utensils getting stuck to the bikes.
Dr. Quest realises they might be in the center of Devlon’s electro-magnetic field. Just then they spot a Siamese cat and follow it into a sewer. Following the tunnel, Jessie gets creeped out while Race thinks of a horror movie he used to see. Jonny also reminds Race of the ghosts they used to stand up in the Tower of London. Just then, they witness a transparent wall of energy where Dr. Quest asks if they heard of the Will-o’-Wisps while Hadji calls them Uzai Atoo when swamp gas glows in an electrical storm. Dr. Quest realizes that it is Methane gas charged by a set of bare wires emitting particles. They then follow the cables to Devlon’s hideout where they find Dr. Devlon who shoots at them, thinking Zin sent them to steal his secrets. When Jonny says they’ve brought his daughter, Devlon exclaims he never saw her in his life.
Dr. Quest tells Devlon that working with the unshielded uranium has affected his mind. Just then, a robot bursts out of the wall with Snipe and Dr. Zin approaching him. The robot shoots the gun out of Vincent’s hand and fires a warning shot at Jonny. One of the replicants warns “Leave and you die, human.” while a couple of other replicants shove Jade towards the direction of her daughter Jessie who is relieved to see her safe and Race and Jonny being confused with the revelation of their relationship. Zin is enticed when his plans come together and was glad the heroes did what he wanted. An unhappy Race tells Jade that nothing she says will never make up what she had done.
Jade insists she was not working for Zin who tells them to be silent. When he coughs, Race asks if he ever thought of joining a health club, the scientist holds him at gunpoint. In an attempt to bargain for his life, Dr. Devlon tries to bargain for his life by returning the gold formula and offering to work for him again. Dr. Zin gives this some thought, but has the robot reduce him to ashes, admitting he has not made the best management decisions. Dr. Quest calls him a madman.
However, Zin claims people get what they deserve. Zinexclaims Devlon had discovered the formula for synthetic gold for Zin, but got greedy and their interference in Peru enabled him to steal it. He only found it fitting he tricked them in order to find a thief for him. Dr. Quest realizes the gold mask was a ploy to locate Devlon. Jonny also realises Jessie was part of this, but it was only because Zin kidnapped her mother and she had to pretend Devlon was her father on the threat of him killing her. Zin had her wear a wrist-based tracking device in order to track them down.
Dr. Quest exclaims it has all been for nothing as the synthetic gold will draw the attention of government agencies across the world if it hits the streets. Dr. Zin chides Benton for thinking so small as Zin was pursuing eternal life as injections of 100% pure gold are needed to fix the degenerative process of his clones and he will be able to clone himself forever.
Race does remark that this is some master plan he had, living for eternity as a wheezing and drying up old man. Dr. Zin considers this a good point, but desires to become immortal as a physical specimen such as him, calling it something worth living for. He then has the robot kidnap Race in order to use his genetic structure for his clones and has Snipe take Jade and the rest of Team Quest prisoner. When Hadji tries to hypnotize Snipe with his jewel, the mutant resists and grabs him from his shirt instead. Hadji uses the gem to summon ghosts in order for everyone to escape Snipe.
Benton takes Jessie’s watch in order to reverse the signal and track ZIn down in order to save Race. Jade apologises to Jonny and says that she wanted I-One to stop the mutations when she found them in the jungle, hoping Bannon would be sent in because she wanted to tell him about their daughter Jessie, much to her shock. Jessie was born after Jade and Race split up before the former realized she was pregnant. Jessie was not happy as Jade told her that her father was dead. Jade defends herself as she had no choice, possibly a bad one and decided it was better for her not to have a father than take the chance Bannon might not accept having a child.
Jessie was still not happy about this and opens the grate out of the sewer, angry that Jade never gave her the chance to know him, warning her that it would be her fault if Zin kills him. Jessie runs out of the sewer with Jonny pursuing her. Benton reassures Jade that they will save Race, saying everybody deserves a second chance. Tracing Zin down to Australia, Dr. Quest finds that Race was being held in a desalination plant closeby. Dr. Quest tries to contact I-One for backup, but Jonny opposes this as he cannot wait that long.
Dr. Quest defends himself as the plant might be infested with Replicants and could get killed. Jessie counters that her dad could get killed if they do not go in. Jonny heads off for the plant, saying he is not afraid of Zin against Benton’s wishes.
Just then when a replicant grabs Jonny and Jessie, Bandit bites at the creature only to be thrown into a nearby body of water. Jonny dives in at Jessie’s behest while she deals with the replicant. Just then another opens a shark’s cage to deal with Jonny and Bandit. However dolphins were able to defend the two from while Jonny headed inside.
Dr. Quest and company proceed to enter through the salt chute to surprise Zin. Jonny witnesses Zin planning to add his genetic structure to his clones to have pure strength and body forever with the gold injections making him perfect.
Just when Jonny was going to shoot, he witnesses replicants holding Jessie prisoner when Benton knocks the door open to confront Zin. Zin compares Benton to a virus he cannot get rid of and orders his replicants to seize Dr. Quest and his party. However, Hadji levitates with Benton to drop a light on the pursuing replicants and fry them.
Jonny fires at the robot holding Race prisoner and frees him. Jonny fires back at some replicants while Jade takes out the replicant holding Jessie who throws Race a gun while Jade decides to explain to Race later about Jessie being their daughter.
After Race disables the robot holding him, its shots begin to destroy Zin’s lab when Zin holds Benton hostage like he did with Rachel. Rather than shoot, Jonny summons dolphins to make Zin release Benton. Zin retreats to a sub to try and escape after damaging the structure of the plant, but is cut short when his path gets blocked and his only way into the sub is obstructed. While everyone else manages to get out the normal route, Jonny is forced to ride a dolphin to escape the structure before it explodes.
Following this, Jonny reconciles with his father, apologizing for how he treated him when he could not shoot Zin when he had his mother, having blamed him when it was Zin he hated all along.
Once at home, 3-DAC reenacted all house functions of the Quest home and Benton was happy to be back in business. Benton also learns Race was almost ready to leave while 3-DAC makes Bandit a peaceful offering, a dog bed. Just then, Hadji announces that it is time to say goodbye to Race, Jessie, and Jade who were heading off to a sea cruise.
The Cyber Insects[]
After Jonny and Hadji fail a trial of manhood, Bandit messes with a mask, leading to a snake coming out and scaring him. Atacama laments that neither Jonny nor Bandit have been having a very good night. Jonny wanted to pass the test and show his dad that he can handle the same responsibility he and Race tackled everyday of their lives. Atacama pats him, telling him that if he follows the right path, he can attain his goal, when Jonny asks, the chief tells him the Luciernaga will light his way and plays a flute which summons a group of fireflies.
Atacama tells him not to be afraid as the Luciernaga will give him a sign that will foretell his future and offer guidance. The fireflies form a spiral and disperse like a firework. When Jonny asks him what it said, Atacama warned him that it was an evil wind he and his father must face together.
In space, a satellite fires a beam, leading to a distortion of weather that starts off as strong winds that ravage, Race saves Jonny and Hadji when an ancient statue gets knocked over by the wind. Bandit hides under a cloth that got loose. When Race gets Jonny and Hadji to the hut they have been residing in, Dr. Quest asks his son if he is okay, which Jonny says he is.
When Jonny asks where the storm came from, his father calls it a good question as it is strange weather for this time of year and Hadji calls it strange weather any time of year. Benton gets contacted by Commander Harris of I-1 central command where he brings in reports of climatic anomalies all over the Southern Hemisphere.
Benton tells Jonny, that they will have to finish this ceremony some other day. Jonny understands as they must find the cause of the weather. Race remarks he can be find with a “what” and not a “who”.
At Quest HQ, Benton finds out that the climatic anomalies were not limited to equatorial latitudes as it was too warm in Greenland and too dry in England. When Hadji grabs his turban when the wind blows it off, he remarks that it is too windy in Mexico. Race asks where to start if the weather was this crazy worldwide.
Dr. Quest tells him they must learn a pattern to these anomalies and will do it by creating a holographic model of the earth’s weather systems. Jonny remarks this could be a job for his copy port and 4-DAC. Benton considers this a situation that requires mature thought and action, which he is not sure Jonny is up for.
When Jonny finds his copy port missing, 4-DAC comes and informs him that he has it, Jonny reprimands him for sneaking up on him like that. 4-DAC remarks he should consider shutting down in order to program footstep sounds into himself. When Jonny asks for it, 4-DAC asks for the password per security measures. Jonny tells him the password “Amber”.
At the lab, 4-DAC reports to Benton that all the climatic data has been downloaded into a single data file. Dr. Quest proceeds to put it into the holographic visualization program. Jonny offers to help out with the three dimensional graphic modes, but his father refuses as he says that he, Race, and 4-DAC can handle it. Just then, Jessie rides in with her father Race reprimanding her for riding her hoverboard in doors. When Jessie asks about the Orinoken Ceremony. Jonny says that when he cannot tell her what happens in a man’s sacred circle because she is a girl.
However, she correctly guesses he blew it as he lept before he looked. Once Benton aligned all visual data and sequenced all graphic nodes, he put the holographic composite online. When the holographic image of earth got brought up, there were many thick clouds. With Benton noting how everything is off kilter with spiral scroll lines across Europe, East-west cloud systems covering North America and nimbus towers above most of Africa. Race also notices a series of high storm systems covering the world.
Jessie believes something hot was causing a strong convection current in the principle of jet streams. Jonny suggests some volcano or forest fire was doing this, but was rebuked by Dr. Quest for being quick to criticize as he must explain any reasonable theory such as Jessie’s. Benton orders 4-DAC to alter the program to isolate the unnatural variations in temperature.
Just then, they find that there are hot spots over the North Pole and the ice cap is melting faster than usual and destabilizing the atmospheric jetstream and creating high pressure storm systems across the planet. Benton then thanks Jessie for the suggestion.
When Hadji asks what was causing these hot spots and how to stop them, Benton says he does not know, but his friends on onboard Quest Station could help find the cause. When he contacts them, Dr. Eve Belage answers and wishes she could help, but the spectrum analysis computer was not working correctly and their entire sensor stack is offline, making it impossible to track down the hot spots affecting the North Pole.
4-DAC proposes a personal transport for a replacement computer to Quest Station to restore the sensor capabilities there so they can complete their investigation. Something Eve believes might work. Once they get weather permits, Benton and 4-DAC will ride in Quest Shuttle-1 so they can bring the sensors back online in order to track down the cause of the weather situation.
Just then, a strange ship full of insects flies down to earth followed up with a scattering of birds in the area, which strikes Jessie’s curiosity and Hadji notices they have been heading west all day. Jessie also points out that there are too many species flocking together and something scared them in the river. Jonny suggests they ride the hover sleds in order to look upriver. But Jessie explains that her father did not say they could run off like that for investigations.
They all then fly off to investigate where they witness rain and lightning where Jonny gets into an argument with Jessie about him failing his test before they fly out of the storm. Once they get close to reaching the cause of the animals fleeing, Jonny to inspect with Jessie yelling at him for this dangerous stunt. The cause of this, the formicoids, use a device to stir up a group of bee to pursue Jonny and kill him where he gets cornered by a cliff.
Jonny tries to climb a bridge Hadji magically created, but the bees eat the bridge away leading Jessie and Hadji to save him on their hover sleds. Just then the formicoids fire at them as they head back to headquarters. Just then, 4-DAC reports that the swarm was heading towards Quest HQ and has them observe, before Jonny comes, Benton tells him that the way he ran off this morning made him worry. He asks his son why he takes on such foolish risks.
Jonny wanted to do his share and become a full member of the Quest Team. Benton explains that being part of a team means to work with others and not around them as he needs to learn patience. 4-DAC explains to everyone that the giant insects they have encountered were controlling the swarm of insects with a high frequency signal of unknown magnitude and duration. When Race asks about a way to jam the signal, 4-DAC says that such a task would be possible after getting enough time which Benton says it is not something they have and must rocket off to Quest Station soon. Jonny finds a recording of Atacama’s music to control fireflies on his computer and Hadji realizes they can modify it to control the ants. Benton suggests to 4-DAC that he creates a signal to redirect the swarm away, which 4-DAC complies with almost immediately.
Dr. Quest thanks Jonny for the suggestion to deal with the swarm, but reminds him that it still takes a good team to make a good plan work. In the middle of the rocket preparing to launch, the swarm of insects threaten to jeopardize the launch by entering vital components. But Jonny broadcast the signal to drive the insects away immediately.
Watching the rocket launch, 425 apologizes to Zin for his failure, but his master shows how unforgiving he is by having several of his hymenthoids drag him off to be executed for his failure as he cannot allow Benton to find his stealth satellite and replaces him with 426, warning her not to fail him in killing Dr. Quest and his team.
After Quest Shuttle-1 docks, Eve welcomes Quest and 4-DAC to the station as they replace the computer to fix the sensor. Eve explains to 4-DAC that the flowers he was looking at never bloomed for three million years and she was recreating extinct plants and animals and had the assistance of Mylana through DNA samples.
Just then, Benton contacts Race and he and his teammates were hunting down one of the humanoid insects who attacked them when the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Benton tells him to do his best as the bugs and the weather might be connected. Jonny reassures his father that the bugs cannot outrun their flying segmented weasel vehicles.
Dr. Quest reminds Jonny about that he must have patience and teamwork and he must not do it on his own as he must play it safe and smart. Checking on a valley north of them, they were pursued by the formicoids who witnessed them head there.
After completing the installation of the spectrum analysis computer, 4-DAC re-activates the sensor stat for Quest Station in hopes of solving the problem with the weather.
Eve tells Benton that while 4-DAC is running the analysis, they will establish a satellite link from I-One Central Command so they can access all their data. As 4-DAC initiates a spectrographic sanc on the computer for earth’s problems, the computer explains that the Refracted sunlight has been optically enhanced and directed towards the earth’s surface. 4-DAC asks why Quest Station’s radar could not find the source of the refraction.
The computer explains the source might be protected by a radar shield or another form of stealth technology. 4-DAC tries to break the shield and tries to get a detailed sensor probe of the objects. Just then, 427 finds that Quest Station is probing their satellites, 426 calls this impossible as the satellites were shielded by parabolic reflectors that the station should not be able to track. 427still says that they are doing it. 426 orders for 427 to use the Trojan Horse virus to deal with the issue despite his protests that it is untested. This leads to 4-DAC being infected by it.
When Dr. Zin finds out about the infection of 4-DAC, he announces that he will have work for him to do.
Back on earth, Race Bannon and company come across a cabin and realise it is occupied. However, a tank-like cyber insect bursts out of it and fires at Race’s vehicle, forcing him and Hadji to retreat. Jonny and Jessie however destroy it with their Weasel, saving the two.
But another formicoid begins to shoot at them. Hadji retaliates by making coconuts fall on it while Race shoots it down. At Quest Station, Commander Harris explains that the situation was deteriorating rapidly as food and water are dwindling while civil order is on the verge of collapse.
He orders for answers to be found fast with Benton telling him that they should have something shortly. When Eve checks on 4-DAC, he claims he must excuse himself from active duty to replenish his power pack. Eve is not happy as the work he is doing was extremely important. 4-DAC leaves, claiming he’d be back in 3.9 minutes.
At the mainframe, the infected 4-DAC announces he has taken control of Quest Station’s computer and its defensive systems. Dr. Zin orders for all of the files to be transferred to his mainframe immediately and then trigger the auto destruct sequence to destroy Quest Station.
But the destruction was stopped due to a lab dedicated to studying the infamous Pselliopus Cinctus Anticus which led to Dr. Zin ordering 4-DAC to head there. Back on earth, Jessie examines the appendage recovered from the formicoid and it was organic but contains an anti-mechanical power pack of some sort.
Jonny asks her to say something important like where the big bugs came from. Jessie considers them to be from another planet or solar system. Jonny believes she read too many comics. Race asks Jonny to cool down as they are on the same team.
Jessie laments 4-DAC’s absence as he could do a first class analysis on the limb. Jonny tries to contact the robot, but does not succeed as it seems 4-dAC is offline. After 4-DAC arrives at the lab, Dr. Zin commences the virtual reality interlock while 4-DAC enters the lab and procures a specimen.
Once this was done, Dr. Zin ordered the capture of the entire station.
Back with Benton, he finds it impossible that 4-DAC was offline with Eve mentioning that the robot was replenishing his power packs. Jonny points out that 4-DAC should not have another replenishment as he did before lift off and should have taken longer for him to recharge.
Just then, the transmission gets jammed as the satellite loses control and gets dragged towards Zin’s asteroid fortress. Dr. Quest orders the activation of the emergency lights, but the communications are down and the computer is offline and they cannot access the sensor stack.
They initially had no idea where they were or what was happening. After Eve suggests they look out a window, they find that they are inside Dr. Zin’s asteroid fortress.
426 announces that the stabilizers have been secured and the docking procedures have been complete. Dr. Zin then orders the air pressure to be equalized immediately, anticipating his talk with Dr. Quest. The Cyber Insects head towards the captive Quest Station to equalize the pressure while Zin greets Benton.
As a result of lost contact, Race resolves to go with his companions into space on Quest Shuttle 2 in order to locate Quest Station.
When they were armed with laser guns, Dr. Quest and company prepare to fight back against the Cyber Insects. However, while they manage to shoot several dead, the infected 4-DAC intervenes and threatens Benton with death if he does not surrender to Dr. Zin. Dr. Quest and company comply and drop their weapons. Most of the staff get taken to the cargo bay by the insects on Zin’s orders while Benton and Eve are to be taken with him through the fortress as he has plans for them.
At Quest HQ, Race was preparing to launch Quest Shuttle 2 so he and Quest Team could head investigate what happened to Quest Station. Harris contacts him to notify him of the winds dying down and he must hurry as he still had the launch widow. Just then, Harris reports there have been floods and tornadoes taking the world apart at the seams and they have no idea why this is happening and they were desperate for answers and Dr. Quest was the only person who knew what they were.
After Quest Shuttle 2 launches, Dr. Zin is showing Eve and Benton the interior of his fortress and introduces several of the species of Cyber Insects he created in order to conquer the earth, his planttinoids were created from the ordinary cockroach and proven their obedience and dependance, the formicoids are fearless, capable, and devoted warriors unmatched by his hymenthoids. Eve calls this a waste and asks why he does not put his obvious abilities to more constructive use.
Dr. Zin explains that he has the lepidoptoids digest useless and raw material and recycle it into hydrated ethylene to be fermented and distilled into ethyl alcohol carbohydrate called Ethanol, which he intends to offer as a renewable renewable non-polluting fuel to the people of Earth once he conquers them. While 4-DAC does find this sound on the surface, the logic was actually quite specious as processing and storing large quantities of explosive ethanol is highly dangerous and should store it in closed containers.
Traveling to where Quest Station was, Race notes that there would be 12,000 tons of debris if Quest Station did explode. Jessie wonders how an entire space station disappeared, with Hadji saying he is not capable of this magic.
Quest Shuttle 2, Jonny objects to his group returning to earth per Harris’s order as the worldwide weather conditions are deteriorating rapidly and almost every airfield on the planet got sucked in. He warns that staying in place might strand them. Race explains that Quest Station did not explode or fly off on its own and it should be around the area they are in.
Commander Harris warns that they have an hour before the window closes on them. Hadji suggests to Jonny that he uses his copy port system in order to talk to 4-DAC, something Race finds worth a try as they could find Quest Station. Jonny types in Amber to find that he was infected by the trojan virus.
After Jessie finds an antidote program, Jonny uploads the program into 4-DAC and returns him to his normal programming. 4-DAC explains that Dr. Zin was behind everything that has happened.
Race Bannon reports to Harris that Zin trapped Quest Station inside his asteroid base and was using stealth satellites to control the world’s weather. They were homing in on 4-DAC’s signal.
Before they reach the location of the base, 427 reports that the shuttle is approaching their position again and is ordered to send out the defensive army where they confront Quest Team and try to shoot their shuttle down. Once power is lost, the shuttle begins to fall back to Earth while Race loses consciousness. Hadji tells Jessie to tend to the shuttle while he and Jonny tend to her father. Jonny then manages to help her get the shuttle back on track.
Bandit was present when the kids helped Race regain consciousness. Commander Harris also examined the tapes of their encounters with Zin’s interceptors where he learned they have had some form of cloaking capability, which makes it a perfect cover for an ambush. Jessie also has an idea at what happened to Benton and Quest Station. Commander Harris confirms this as they have been cloaked in the same field.
Jessie reminds her teammates that Jonny traced 4-DAC’s signal in his copy port. A frustrated Jonny asks his friends to keep him out of the search for Zin’s base as he could only make things worse.
Hadji and Jessie confront Jonny where he states he does not know how to be a member of Quest Team and too much of a kid. Jessie tells him he was still a kid who helped her fly the shuttle or stopped a swarm of insects back on earth. Hadji also reminds him he was a kid who helped 4-DAC and locate Zin’s asteroid. Jessie also asks him if he was the only person to make a mistake and being an adult is about learning from his mistakes. Race then tells them they have work to do.
After Jessie relocates Zin’s base, Race requests help from I-1, but Harris points out they cannot launch into space as a result of the weather conditions and they are on their own. Jonny thanks Hadji and Jessie for setting him straight.
Quest Team reached the asteroid and found trouble trying to find a way in as it was locked up tight as a drum.
Just then, Jessie asks them to go back to two screens where she found an entrance to the fortress. Hadji then asks how they can get in without being spotted. Jonny suggests the Weasels which could slip under Zin’s radar. Jessie however asks how they can get past the fighters. Hadji then proposes that they use one of his magic tricks to distract the interceptors while they go in.
Just then the empty Quest Shuttle 2 distracts the interceptors getting destroyed in the process by the Ion cannon, much to Dr. Quest’s disbelief. The Weasels then head into the fortress when they find vats of ethanol.
Jonny Quest hooks his copy port up to one of the terminals where he finds Quest Station in the main docking bay. Race then tells him to dump Zin’s computer virus into his own mainframe to shut down the defense systems so they can find Quest Station. Just then, Jonny finds that Eve and his father are not in Quest Station and hooked up to Zin’s mainframe on the other side of the asteroid as part of an ento-mechanical matrix. Race then suggests they stall the uploading of the virus. Hadji explains that if they do not take that chance, they may not get to them.
Jonny then decides to wait for the right moment. Race then suggests that they make up the plan as they head along. Just then the first Assassinoid enters its final state and slaughters a group of cyber insects much to the amusement of Dr. Zin. Just then the PA announces the arrival of intruders and Zin orders the assassinoid to locate the infiltrators and kill them.
Just then Jonny suggests they go through a vent to find Eve and his father in order to find a way to have them unhooked from the computer unharmed. Just then formicoids attack them while Race fires back and Hadji uses his cards to dump slime onto their attackers when they are confronted by the Assassinoid.
Bandit runs off to where they find 4-DAC buried under soil and proceeds to recover his a.i. and secure it in his copy post
Dr. Zin proceeds to continue his plan to meld the minds of Eve and Benton into his mainframe.
4-DAC in Jonny’s copy port provided good and bad news, they are near the chamber where the captives are being held and the bad news is that Zin sped up the computerized mind melt. There is less than an hour before they cease to exist independently.
Just then Jonny is confronted by Zin when he enters the holding place of his hostages and the assassinoid melts a segment of their weasel. Race also finds out the assassinoid can regenerate lost limbs, including its head. Just then, the bug gets caught in liquid nitrogen and smashed to pieces.
Bandit then takes a frozen piece of the insect while the rest of them regenerate into more assassinoids.
Jonny decides they must save Quest Station first before saving his father and Eve.
This leads to Zin delaying the melding so he can use all the power to put an end to Quest Team’s efforts. Once Quest Team reaches Quest Station, Race asks for people interested in turning the tables on Zin and they all accept this.
Just then they find the assassinoid body part growing into a larva. 4-DAC’s analysis of the Assassinoid larva they have was in the process of regenerating and will metamorphosize back into a fully formed adult assassinoid and the only way to destroy one is to either use a thermonuclear explosion or freeze them. Mylana decides to have the larva taken to the cryogenic lab on Quest Station to be frozen in liquid nitrogen.
Jessie also tells Jonny that he should now be an adult as he learned from his mistakes. Hadji also tells him that this is a good time to keep his head down. Race then tells Jonny it is time to go. They then find themselves in conflict with the Cyber Insects.
Jonny drops his copy port before he could call the weasels. Just then, Bandit runs from Hadji and causes barrels to roll into the insects, enabling Jonny to recover his copy port. Jonny and Race run to the command room where they upload the virus into the mainframe with 4-DAC’s help.
Jonny Quest then has the doors shut on most of the attacking insects then opens the door so that Quest Station can escape, leading to the insects present in the docking bay getting sucked into space.
Race then reports to Commander Harris that Quest Station is free from Zin who orders the rescue of Benton and Eve so they can escape. Just as Zin tries to shoot Benton, Race blasts the gun out of his hands and Benton has them come with him as he knows a way out.
When they reach the capsule, Race shooting one of the Assassinoid leads to its acid destroying the escape capsule Benton and Eve found, forcing him to use another way to escape, riding an interceptor.
Jessie and Hadji arrive in a Weasel to save their family and friends from an Assasinoid when it corners them and they make their escape even with it being crowded and manage to escape another assassinoid.
After they escape, Zin’s asteroid base goes supernova thanks to I-One, killing the remaining cyber insects on board. Dr. Quest praises Jonny on how much of a team they were able to become.
Back on earth, Chief Atacama holds a ceremony as Jonny and Hadji have proved themselves to be in the sacred circle and adulthood. He also says their companions may step forward and witness this as they touch the sapphire. Jonny also asks Jessie to touch the sapphire as well. Bandit and 4-DAC also watch as they do so.
