Barcus is a minor character in The Owl House. He is a student at Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, originally being part of the detention track alongside Viney and Jerbo. He is officially enrolled in a dual-track which teaches oracle and potions.

Overview

Barcus is a dog-like demon who was sent to the detention track after mixing potions and oracle magic, becoming friends with Viney and Jerbo in the process. He can only speak in barks.

Abilities

While clearly a demon, Barcus's classification is somewhat murky. He is clearly intelligent and capable of magic, but his stature and seeming inability to speak like other biped demons seems to imply he is a beast type. Further, he has not been shown on screen using spell circles - instead relying on potions, scrying materials, and the passive ability to see auras - which might suggest he has no bile sac.

Personality

Barcus is usually a cordial and easygoing individual who is deeply loyal to his friends and willing to stand up against injustice. However, if one's aura tells him that someone his untrustworthy, Barcus will refuse to associate with them. Barcus is also quick-tempered and annoyed.
