Barenziah is a long lives Dunmer queen from the Elder Scrolls series who has lived longer than most other Dunmer and other elves eventhough all elves have long lifespans.
Biography[]
Barenziah is the queen of Mournhold who happens to have many skills in magic, thievery, business, negotiation and skills in other areas as well. Having a longer lifespan than most other people of Tamriel she has lived through, experienced and watched many important historical events through the years.
She was born into royalty daughter of a lord and lady who were once rulers of Mourhold. Much like their daughter Barenziah's parents have also witnessed and been apart of famous events in Tamriel events that took place before the birth of their daughter. During her years as a child and teenager Barenziah was raised by her parents and the many caretakers they had teaching her about the ways to Dumer royalty, beliefs and lifestyle. Until she was taken from her family and was adopted by Seven and his wife Inga who raised Barenziah like she was their own daughter along with their five children. Under the care of count Seven and Lady Inga they taught Barenziah the Imperial lifestyle, royalty and beliefs.
She lived with Seven and Inga for awhile before running away from home with a young stable boy named Straw who she fell in love with they traveled and went on many adventures learning how to steal, accepting jobs people offered to earn money and joined travelling caravans. She learned many useful skills from thieves, smugglers, living with orphans around her age and merchants. During her travels she met other nobles outside of Morrowind learning about different skills they had that were different from the royal Dunmer's skills and beliefs. While traveling Barenziah and Staw got work where every they could at stables, inns, taverns, shops and other places which helped Barenziah learn many useful skills.
When Barenziah traveled during her younger years with Straw she enjoyed the fun thrilled, adventures and travels despite being born to royal Dunmer bloodline and being raised by Imperial nobles Barenziah didn't act or behave like most people born in or raised by royalty. Because Straw and Barenziah grew close to each other Straw wanted to marry Barenziah when they got older and settle down on a small farm living a quiet simple life. But as royalty Barenziah didn't want to live as a poor peasant and didn't want to give up a life of adventure and thrill. Even though she still loved Straw and was his friend as girl who liked to flirt Barenziah didn't want to settle down with one male lover for the rest of her life when she could have many male lovers.
During her adventures Barenziah and Staw eventually joined the Thieves Guild where they would meet a young thief around their age named Therris who fell in love with Barenziah just like Straw causing a rivalry between the two boys. Barenziah also loved Therris as well just like she did with Straw however she never planned on settling down with either on them when they got older because she would have to give up the lifestyle and fun she had and didn't want that. During her time on the road and in different cities Barenziah fell in love with many young men from different races who were around her age when she spent her time among thieves, smugglers, merchants, caravans, orphans and other royal nobles.
Eventually when Barenziah became older and ended up in the services of the Empire and Tiber Septim she fell in love with with him and served as royal member in the Empire. With the help of the Empire and her loyalty to the Septim Dynasty Barenziah became queen of Mourhold she reclaimed what belonged to her family when her parents ruled. As ruler of Mourhold and a member of the Empire Barenziah secretly still kept her ties and connections with the Thieves Guild. She would later end up meeting with a Nightingale and fall in love with him having a child named Dralsi her relationship with the Nightingale would be a secret from Tiber Septim and Symmachus who she was also in love with. During her time in the Empire Barenziah also secretly fell in love with one of Tiber's generals a Dunmer named Symmachus. When Tiber Septim learned about the secret with Barenziah and Synmachus he was not happy about the secret affair. Aside from having a child in secret with a Nightingale Barenziah also had children with Tiber Septim, Symmachus and some of the other people she fell in love with during her affairs.
After learning about this Tiber Septim wasn't happy and had Barenziah banished from the empire for falling in love with his general while being in love with him at the sametime Barenziah was sent back to Morrowind. During her time as ruler of Mourhold many cities in Morrowind would lead a rebellion against the city of Mourhold, the Empire, the Septim family and Symmachus. Barenziah was shocked by the rebellion and Jagar Thard corrupting the Empire and disguising himself as the empire Septim tte VII. Barenziah escaped Tharn's clutches with Eadwyre the Breton king of Wayrest Barenziah traveled to High Rock with the king and fell in love with Eadwyre and became queen of Wayrest.
Years later Helaseth the son of Symmachus and Barenziah and adopted son of Eadwyre claimed the throne and castle of Wayrest when the king passed away he banished his mother and sister from Wayrest having them sent back to Mournhold in Morrowind. Years later Helaseth would return to Morrowind to take the throne of his uncle king Llethan when Helaseth heard news of his death.
Years later Barenziah would help in giving advice and guidance to the Indoril Nerevar her ancestor reborn as Nerevarine to fulfill the prophecy of defeating the Tribunal and Dagoth Ur. Despite her years of being queen in Mournhold, Wayrest and being a member of the Empire during the Septim Dynasty Barenziah never did and still doesn't support politics like other rulers, royal members or people on nobility she confirms this when she mentions about her past. Do to this she doesn't follow or support the Tribunal or the Great Houses of Morrowind who are also involved with politics. Barenziah has been described as always being a woman of the people.
