Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman, is one of the three overarching protagonists in the Batwheels TV series, he is the gruff, genius, gadget-aided vigilante protector of Gotham City. He is the founder of the Bat-Family, the CEO of Wayne Enterprises and the inventor of the robotic vehicles who would become The Batwheels.
In the show, Batman has been primarily voiced by Ethan Hawke, who previously turned down the role for Joel Schumacher's 1995 film, Batman Forever.
Before the events of Batwheels, Bruce Thomas Wayne lived a much similar history with his comic book counterpart, was born to his wealthy parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne in Gotham City, as the sole heir to the Wayne Fortune. One night, when he was 8-years old, he witnessed his parents get murdered by a mugger in an alleyway on their walk home from a play. His family's butler, Alfred Pennyworth, became his legal guardian and took care of him, since then.
One day later, during his parents' funeral, Bruce ran away into the woods in fear and fell into a hole in the ground filled with bats. Luckily, Alfred rescued him, though Bruce developed a fear of bats; He comforted his young master by telling him that though people fall, they always have the strength to get up. Alfred even explained that there were greedy people in the entire world, that do bad things. So, Bruce, having understood what his butler told him, decided to read how the good people keeps the bad people from hurting others. Wayne immersed himself in studying a wide variety of arts and sciences, in the process of becoming The Batman.
During his earliest adventures, criminals would begin operating in Gotham, with many choosing costumes and themes for their crimes. These included The Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Mr. Freeze. Some of these criminals were also tied directly to his personal life, including Catwoman and Two-Face. But of all the many "super-villains" he fought, Batman's greatest enemy would be the Joker, a clown-based criminal, who he indirectly created.
The Age of The Bat-Family[]
Batman spent most of his first year, working alone; but a tragic incident in someone's life would change all that. That someone is young circus aerialist Dick Grayson, who was orphaned when his parents were murdered by a criminal named Tony Zucco. Batman felt great empathy towards Dick, having experienced a similar horror as a youth himself. Recognizing Dick's acrobatic skill, he took him under his wing at the Batcave and Dick became his new sidekick, Robin, The Boy Wonder.
