Early life[]
Bruce Wayne is the son of Dr. Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne. Bruce has a very close and loving relationship with his parents. He and his father often went to the Gotham Coliseum for ball games and then go to the amusement park afterwards. He also had a good relationship to the family's butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Thomas would also tell Bruce scary stories about the legend of the Court of Owls: a secret society of rich men that controlled the undergrounds of Gotham.
When Bruce was ten, his parents were murdered in front of his eyes. Noticing an owl watching Bruce suspected that the court had his parents killed and decided to investigate but sadly found nothing relating the Court of Owls to his parents' deaths. While Alfred was there for Bruce, he was forever changed by the death of his parents and made a vow to spend his life hunting down the same criminals that took his parents from him. He trained for years in martial arts and became a master detective, learning from various masters all over the world. He became what the city of Gotham would come to know as the Batman.
Batman fought crimes for years in Gotham, fighting villains such as The Joker, Killer Croc and Ra's al Ghul. He soon took on a protégé in the form of Dick Grayson who would become Batman's sidekick Robin. When Dick reached his mid-teens, he left to found a team with other young sidekicks, calling it the Teen Titans; Dick eventually created new hero identity of Nightwing, working solo, but often assisting in cases with Batman and the Teen Titans.
Batman fell in love with Ra's al Ghul's daughter Talia. While they both loved each other, Batman couldn't bring himself to be with Talia due to the nature of her father whom he considered a madman. Out of Ra's al Ghul's demand for an heir and her own love, Talia later drugged Batman into making love to her and unknown to Bruce, gave birth to his son Damian Wayne.
Justice League: War[]
Batman first appeared aiding Green Lantern in a fight against one of Darkseid's minions, a Parademon. The creature then attempts to escape, but Batman grapples onto it and manages to hang on while it flies through Gotham. They end up on a rooftop, where the heroes are interrupted by the Gotham Police. They make a quick getaway and continue to chase the Parademon into the sewer. There, the creature attempts to plant some sort of bomb. Once the heroes' presences are detected, it self-destructs, but the bomb remains intact. Batman and Green Lantern then take the bomb, and head to Metropolis, where they plan to interrogate Superman to see if he knows anything about it.
After going to Metropolis, the two catch up to, Superman who is seen as a blur crashing into buildings. He finally settles in an abandoned one, where Green Lantern goes charging in, only to be seen moments later flying out of the building after being struck by Superman. The Man of Steel then zooms outside where he pins down Batman. The Dark Knight escapes and engages Superman. Despite Batman's best efforts, Superman is unharmed by any of his attacks or devices. Green Lantern then recovers and engages the Man of Steel. Angry, Superman attacks Batman and Green Lantern. In order to protect themselves, Green Lantern creates a ball of energy around himself and Batman, but Superman then sends them flying with a series of punches. After penetrating the ball, Superman zooms toward Batman and Green Lantern as though he was about to deliver the final blow, but Batman manages to say "Clark", stopping the Kryptonian, and talk him down. The three then realize they are on the same side and once again dive into the sewer. The three then journey to an abandoned building a few blocks away from the Daily Planet, where the analyze the bomb. Batman then states that the bombs were strategically planted, and that there is the potential of a full-scale invasion. Green Lantern then disregards the idea. However, within moments, the box “activates” and opens a portal, a horde of Parademons swarming out attacking the heroes. The three then battle against them furiously. However, Superman mysteriously leaves, leaving Batman and Green Lantern fighting against them alone.
Green Lantern and Batman manage to finish of the rest of the Parademons, and soon meet up with the Flash. However, more Parademons show up, but as they brace to take them on, Wonder Woman comes and defeats them all. Superman rejoins the team and Cyborg and Shazam show up. Cyborg tells the team of the plan that Darkseid has for the world, and as soon as he finishes explaining, Darkseid appears with a large army of Parademons. The seven heroes then attack the Parademons. Green Lantern attempts to take down Darkseid himself, but quickly fails. In the heat of the action, Darkseid fires his Omega Beams, one at Flash and the other at Superman. Flash manages to evade it, but Superman takes the blow and is incapacitated. He is then captured by Parademons and taken to Apokolips, the planet that Darkseid rules over. Green Lantern is then severally injured by Darkseid, having his arm broken by the powerful being. Darkseid then teleports away from the group, creating a large explosion.
After emerging from the carnage, Green Lantern attempts to go after Superman, but Batman tells him to stay and keep the team together. Batman then disguises himself and allows a Parademon to capture him and take him to Apokolips to save Superman. While at Apokolips, Batman escapes from the Parademon and removes his disguise. He then sees where Superman is being taken over through Darkseid's brainwashing under the control of Desaad (Darkseid’s right hand man). Batman stops Desaad, but Parademons arrive and attack Batman. Batman defeats them, however, a brainwashed Superman kills Desaad and goes ballistic at Batman. Superman and Batman then return through the portal the others managed to create in his absence and manage to force Darkseid inside the portal, banishing him from Earth. Shortly afterward, they are met with the applause of a group of civilians admiring their heroism.
Later, they all make it to the White House where they are honored by the President of the United States. While the President talks, Green Lantern states to the others that they are not friends nor a team, but Batman tells him to cooperate, stating that acting as if it were so would keep the police off Batman and the Air Force off Lantern. At the end, Shazam states that the teams name is the "Super Seven", much to the embarrassment and disappointment of the rest of the team.
Son of Batman[]
Batman tracked Killer Croc, who was undertaking a robbery of pharmaceutical supplies; Batman's usual equipment seemed ineffective, as Croc had become stronger and even grown a tail. A set of prongs pierced Croc, with a powerful electrical current sent through wires that managed to knock out the criminal; the wires led into a taser wielded by Talia, who flirtatiously greeted Batman.
Despite Batman's hesitation, he agreed to follow Talia to her yacht; they discuss their last meeting 10 years ago, with Batman irritably noting that Talia drugged him to be more malleable, but didn't deny when she claimed that he enjoyed their time together. Talia revealed that their encounter resulted in the conception of a child, whom she introduced to Batman as Damian Wayne. Talia explained that she needed to lead a counterattack against Slade Wilson, whom had seized half of the League of Assassins, but she admitted that she needed Damian to remain safe, so wanted Batman to take custody during the civil war. While sceptical, Batman agreed to take Damian under his wing.
Undertaking his civilian corporate life in Wayne Enterprise, Bruce has a meeting interrupted by finding Damian sitting in his office, using the computer; Damian bluntly noted that a particular department was embezzling, with its leader in the group of executives following. Bruce dismissed his people to privately chastised Damian for hacking into his servers, which the boy pushed aside by referencing he had the ability to hack into NORAD since he was a younger child. Damian insisted that they follow a lead, as he wished to avenge his grandfather, Ra's al Ghul, and seeking the traitorous, Ubu, who had habitual visits to Gotham, with one happening now. Bruce advocated for patience and no killing, however, Damian was unconvinced.
Batman received a call from Nightwing, who revealed he had caught Damian in the middle of trying to murder Ubu. When Nightwing brought Damian to the Batcave, Batman was enraged and condemned his actions as neither heroism nor even being a soldier, but the tactics of a blood-thirsty killer. Damian argued that he was raised to destroy his enemies, which Batman countered that he had to learn a better way. Due to Damian's skill and raw potential, Batman allowed him to become the new Robin, hoping to guide him into being noble and merciful.
Seeking a lead on Dr. Kirk Langstrom, Batman and Robin locate and infiltrate the hideout in which he was imprisoned; Robin breaks their cover by unnecessary fighting against nearby guards. This frightens away Dr. Langstrom, but after Batman throws a smoke bomb to cover their retreat from the increasing number of guards. When entering a stadium, they found a battalion of Man-Bat assassins along the ceilings; through clever battling and tactical retreats, the crime-fighting duo are able to disable the Man-Bats.
Batman and Robin corner Dr. Langstrom, who confessed about returning to work on his Man-Bat formula, which he had done for Ra's al Ghul, but now for Slade a.k.a. Deathstroke, since the latter had kidnapped his wife and daughter, and promised harm upon them if Dr. Langstrom didn't accelerate his formula creation.
Dr. Langstrom had a call with his family, who provide details of the surroundings, which Robin recognised, thereby knew the location; while Nightwing and Dr. Langstrom work to create antidotes for the Man-Bats, Batman and Robin would head to the stronghold in Nepal to rescue Langstrom's family and discover further details about Deathstroke's grand schemes. After arriving at the stronghold, Batman and Robin separate to search it; Batman located an empty cell that was covered in blood, which he suspected belonged to Talia, but hid this from Robin. The boy himself found a suspicious seam, which Batman pulled to open a hidden chamber that held the Langstrom mother and daughter, Zoe; they express gratitude, while Zoe hugged Robin as to surreptitiously pass a video device due to a threat from Deathstroke.
In London, Bruce had a phone call with Nightwing to check progress on the antidote, which Nightwing explained Dr. Langstrom had increased efficacy due to relief of his family being saved. Bruce realised that Robin had left to confront Deathstroke alone, so rushed to follow a tracker on him to an oil rig off the coast of England.
Batman reached the bottom of the rig, which extended to the sea floor as it was actually a giant cistern that pumped Lazarus water from the Earth. In the cave, Deathstroke had Talia at gunpoint to keep Robin at bay, which also prevented Batman from attacking. Batman activated a sonar device that caused immense pain in Man-Bat ears, thus the cave's Man-Bats began rushing out, causing a distraction that allowed Batman to attack Deathstroke. Out of spite, Deathstroke shot Talia, while he fled, although Robin still pursued him.
When Talia died, against his better judgement, Batman submerged her in the close Lazarus Pit; after a minute of idling, Talia violently returned to life. Despite this episode, Talia seemed to be restored to perfect health; Talia and Batman embrace and kiss because almost permanent separation fueling their mutual affection, thereby a desire to express it.
The Man-Bat swarm had triggered a meltdown in the rig, but it was stable enough to ascend. From a brutal and bloody battle, Robin had defeated Deathstroke, but refused to kill him out of respect for his father's ways. Robin emotionally hugged his mother upon seeing her alive. Batman, Talia, and Robin use an emergency escape vessel to avoid the rig's collapse; despite Robin's mercy, the crumbling structure seemed to drop Deathstroke to his death.
On the water's surface, all transformed Man-Bats had been returned to being human due to Nightwing and Dr. Langstrom, in the Batwing, firing darts with the antidote. Nightwing retrieved the vessel with the father, mother, and son.
On the shore, Talia expressed gratitude and bid farewell as she needed to start work on rebuilding the League of Assassins. Talia encouraged Robin to follow her, but his hesitation made her realise that he may want to stay with his recently met father. Talia and Batman offer the choice to Robin, who admitted uncertainty, yet revealed his intent to stay in Gotham for now. Talia shared an affectionate goodbye to them, and hoping to see them again. After the Assassins depart, Robin demanded to pilot to Batwing, but Batman lightly denied him from it.
Justice League: Throne of Atlantis[]
Batman was pursuing Scarecrow when Green Lantern interrupted and told him that the Justice League needs his help. Correctly guessing that the situation was about the missing missiles Batman told Lantern he was busy. Green Lantern caught the criminals but Batman quickly chastised him telling him that he needed information out of the criminals and told him not to help next time.
Alongside the rest of the team, Batman and the others check the raised sub and analyze Cyborg's assault. They realize the enemy isn’t related to Darkseid but warriors from Earth's origin. Thanks to Diana's knowledge, she reveals these warriors are from Atlantis with the theory of war related to the missing missiles. Using Shazam's suggestion, Superman and Batman decide to meet Atlantis-expert Dr. Shin, while the others are tasked with finding Atlantis. Arriving at Dr. Shin's home they discover that somebody has destroyed his life's work with Batman correctly deducing that Shin himself is also dead. Superman finds a ripped note by Shin and tapes it together.
With Cyborgs help Batman discovers that Shin was following a man named Arthur Curry and tells the team to find him. Batman and the Justice League arrive in time to save Arthur from being killed by The Trench.
Later when Orm and the Atlanteans attack Metropolis the Justice League confront him but Orm defeats them all. Batman arrives and asks Green Lantern for information on Orm. Green Lantern tells him that Orm killed his Mother. Batman revives Cyborg and tells him to replay Orms confession. Seeing this the Atlanteans turn and Orm who is then knocked out by Arthur ending the invasion. Later Batman and the Justice League attend Arthur's crowning as the King of Atlantis.
Batman vs. Robin[]
Batman's son Robin stole the Batmobile to personally head to a suspected location of numerous kidnapped children and possibly the abductor himself. When Batman arrived, Robin was already in combat against several unfortunate children surgically altered and brainwashed by Anton Schott, who fashioned himself as the Dollmaker with them as his Dolls. The Dollmaker fled out of fear, with Robin in pursuit, but Batman needed to stay to disable the Dolls. Batman used a sleep gas bomb to knock out the Dolls; he then went to freeing the caged children, with one hugging him in relief, whom he comforted with reassuring words. As Batman caught up with Robin, he is enraged to find the Dollmaker dead, believing Robin had done it; Robin angrily refuted the accusation, while expressing dismay that could have, but didn't out of respect for his father. Batman inspected the body to find an owl feather in its mouth.
At Wayne Manor, Bruce finished a dinner date with Samantha Vanaver, a wealthy socialite and humanitarian; he invited her to see something, which she playfully assumed was his bedroom, but he corrected that it was a scale model of Gotham that he intended to use to make his point. Bruce explained how his parents instilled in him the potential for Gotham and that their wealth gave them the obligation to help it in return for providing it to them; he activated holograms to show proposed skyscraper expansions and public transportation networks. Bruce then suggested that the Wayne and Vanaver families could cooperate with their money and resources to reach Gotham's potential. Samantha complimented Bruce, and kissed him until alerted by the sound of snoring; the noise was from Damian, who appeared to have fallen asleep while reading on the couch.
Damian acted confused, forcing Bruce to introduce the boy as only his "ward" who he will shortly adopt, but is keeping him hidden from the press until then; Bruce apologised for keeping the secret, yet Samantha offered no argument, just complimenting him again then giving a somewhat condescending remark about Damian. Samantha got an important message about a matter that demanded her attention, so she left. Bruce remarked that Damian was awake the entire time; Damian noted Samantha's reputable family, though criticised her arrogance. Seeing how Damian was reading Charles Dickens, Bruce felt an opportunity to bond, so invited his son to watch a film adaptation together.
Robin attempted to sneak out of the Manor, dodging numerous security systems, until eventually being stopped; Bruce chastised him for leaving, but Robin irritably bemoaned about feeling trapped in his own house, and if he can't leave as Damian, he should be able to leave as Robin.
Against Bruce's wishes, Alfred disabled the security, allowing Robin to leave on patrol; Bruce was perturbed, but Alfred argued about how Damian felt like a prisoner in his own home, and an act of faith could work to help bridge the divide between father and son.
Due to the owl feather from Dollmaker's mouth, Bruce rediscovered his childhood obsession with the Court of Owls - an order of ultra wealthy Gothamites that control the city. Bruce recalled his investigation to find the Court as to learn the reason behind the deaths of his parents; despite his efforts, young Bruce found no evidence of the Court, leaving him to sob while Alfred attempted to console him, even explaining that sometimes bad things have no reason. Yet in the present day, Batman headed to the Gotham Museum of Natural History to compare the owl feather with a rare stuffed owl; he realised the feather was taken from the stuffed owl, but he was ambushed by three combatants with assassin garb that had owl decor. Batman fought back, yet found the assassins undeterred by broken bones or head trauma, as they continued to claw and stab him; before Batman passed out, the three attackers inexplicably suffer seizures, which then made them dissolve into black sludge. Nightwing recovered Batman to receive medical care, although evidence of the assassins had vanished before he arrived.
Robin returned to Wayne Manor to locate Bruce receiving care by Alfred and Nightwing, and out of concern asked what happened, however, Bruce angrily chided Robin for leaving, rather than explain. As Robin had received a sai from the mysterious murder of the Dollmaker, Talon, Bruce demanded to know where he got it, but Robin refused out of irritation of being interrogated. Bruce confiscated the sai and locked it in a safe box; he then threatened that if Robin didn't amend his behaviour, he would be sent to a Swiss military school, after which Robin despondently departed. Believing his son absent, Bruce lamented that genetic ties are enough to make a father and son, yet Robin was still nearby, thus sadly absorbed the sense of doubt.
When Bruce was driving to another date with Samantha, other cars encroach; Bruce was alarmed to see the other cars filled with people wearing owl masks. Despite his maneuvers, the attacking cars force him into a car crash, making him pass out. When Bruce awakened, he had a hood on, which was removed to display that he was in an arena below the Court of Owls. Bruce acted confused, compelling the Grandmaster to introduce themselves and the Court; they offer an invitation to Bruce, with a mask rising in front of him. Bruce asked about what they will do about Batman, which the Grandmaster alluded to dealing with a plan in progress; Bruce surreptitiously left a tracker on the mask, then requested that he have time to consider the offer. The Grandmaster accepted the terms, having men gas Bruce to sleep, leaving him to reawaken within his wrecked car on Wayne Manor lawn.
Unbeknownst to Bruce, the Grandmaster was actually Samantha Vanaver, who was in a romantic relationship with Talon, and the two of them discuss using Robin as the replacement undead general, while Samantha dismissed Talon's fear of being unacceptable due to his street urchin background, as she explained that her family, thereby her, are the true rulers of the Court, so they can do anything they want.
After a third night of Robin partnering with Talon to tackle mob bosses in the city, Robin remained unwilling to kill, while Talon insisted that he rely on his murderous instincts. Talon revealed that Robin had a choice to make, implying greatness with the Court or failure with Batman. The Dark Knight himself arrived and threatened Talon to leave, however, Robin frustratingly expressed the belief that Batman didn't even come to recover him, but to confront Talon. While Batman tried to push Robin aside, Robin held a batarang against his father; Batman said that Robin didn't want this fight, but due to frequent feelings of being disregarded and mistrusted, Robin instigated a fight. Batman and Robin battle each other, with the former holding his punches somewhat, though still dealing damage. Both fell from the rooftops, with Batman rotating himself to be the cushion between his son and the ground. With Batman momentarily disabled, Robin held a batarang to his throat; Batman shouted that Robin should kill him if that's what he really wanted. Robin threw the batarang into the ground next to Batman's head, then solemnly declared that he isn't his father.
When Batman followed his tracking device in the Court, he entered a subterranean series of tunnels made by abandoned subway lines; upon reaching white halls that seemed to lead into the lair, however, there was an airborne hallucinogenic drugs pumped into the halls. Batman suffered a vivid hallucination in which he relived his parents' deaths, with the gunman being replaced by an adult Damian; child Bruce lamented that the treatment and lack of compassion his older self showed Damian would forge him into an unstoppable monster that would burn the heart out of Gotham. When adult Damian approached Batman and fired upon him repeatedly, Batman stepped to him, and embraced his son, offering sympathy and kindness, which reverted the illusion back to Damian's current pre-teen old age.
While Bruce awakened at home with an epiphany about parenting a unique child like Damian, he was alerted by Nightwing due to an approaching army of the undead Owl army of assassins. Unsure if the Owls were after Batman or Bruce Wayne, but he put on his Batsuit to prepare a defense. Alfred was sent to the Batcave to prepare a special Batmech that Bruce had been developing. After Nightwing suffered injuries, Batman forced him to take the elevator down to the Batcave. Talon himself arrived, who Batman furiously condemned for manipulating Robin, which Talon didn't deny, rather claiming if he did it, it was because Batman's neglect made it easy. Batman and Talon fight, but the number of undead warriors pushed Batman into falling back into the Batcave.
Alfred and Nightwing fight the invading undead warriors, as Batman completed the final steps to activate the Batmech; in the Batmech, Batman easily dispatched the undead, although the multitude of them threatened to be overwhelming. Robin had escaped from the chamber Talon trapped him in, thereby arrived to share the weakness of the army, which was freezing temperatures; Alfred changed the environmental controls to make the cave freezing, which froze the invaders solid, completely disabling them. Talon hijacked the Batmobile to ram into the Batmech, leading both vehicles to the cave floor below; both survived, but Batman was left more injured. Batman fought hand-to-hand against Talon again, but at a disadvantage from fatigue and the crash.
Talon managed to defeat Batman, but before delivering a killing blow, Robin blocked him with the very sai the man gave him. Talon accused Robin for being ungrateful, as Talon had slaughtered the entire Court of Owls for him, but the boy rejected this as insanity again. Despite an arduous battle, Robin managed to beat Talon, keeping him at bay with the sai's point at his throat; to spite Robin, Talon repeated his comment about trusting instincts, held Robin's wrist and killed himself with the sai, yet still in Robin's hands, making him a murderer again indirectly, to his distress.
Bruce expressed pride for Damian, but the latter refused the connection, as he confessed to dealing with conflicting thoughts from Ra's al Ghul, Talia, Bruce, and even Talon, with Damian not knowing what he actually believed himself. Bruce suggested a school, which Damian believed was the military school, but Bruce clarified he was referencing a school in the form of a monastery in the Himalayas that he spent time at during his decade of training, and he found the monastery provided him with peace and clarity. Damian refused the offer, but then indirectly accepted the idea.
When cleaning up from the battle, Bruce revealed that he suspected Samantha Vanaver of being involved in something suspicious, thus wasn't shocked when she turned out the be the Grandmaster of the Court of Owls. Alfred questioned Bruce about allowing Damian to go across the world by himself, yet Bruce repeated Alfred's belief about taking a leap of faith, while also adding that his son would be fine, since there is no one in the world like Damian Wayne, thus he couldn't be judged by any average standards.
Batman: Bad Blood[]
Half a year later, Batman intervened in a battle between Batwoman and the Heretic gang. He knocked Tusk to the ground, sidestepped Electrocutioner's blast, ducked Hellhound's kick, backhanded him then used him as a shield for Electrocutioner's blast, fired his grapnel line and crashed Killer Moth and Firefly into each other, shoved Hellhound into Electroctioner then unleashed a combo of attacks on him. Batman chided Batwoman for wearing a Batsuit and making herself a target. She aimed her handgun at Hellhound but Batman pulled it upward. She fought Hellhound then Batman pushed her out of the way of Electrocutioner's blast. He kicked Electrocutioner in the ribs, grabbed one of his hands and electrocuted Tusk then palmed him in the face. Batman leaped up in the air and descended on Tusk with a hard punch utilizing the momentum. Killer Moth unleashed his flying drones. After one carried Batwoman off into a warehouse, Batman shot a grapnel and zipped past Moth, leaving an explosive on his suit's back. Moth was launched into Tusk.
As Batwoman recovered, Firefly tossed grenade cannisters at her. Batman tackled her out of the way and tossed two Batarangs. One of Firefly's wings was blown and he crashed. Batman kicked his flamethrower out of the way and interrogated him. Batman deduced he was working for someone new. The leader revealed himself, the Heretic. The Heretic admitted it was an honor. Batman got a sense of deja vu and realized he matched an adult Damian Wayne from his drug-induced hallucination caused by the Court of Owls. Batman and Batwoman battled Heretic. Batwoman was no match and was tossed over the rafters. Batman snagged one of her legs with a grapnel. While he was distracted, Batman was nailed with Onyx's throwing knives. Heretic detonated explosives planted in the warehouse. Batman swung Batwoman outside into the dock waters. Batwoman thought he was killed. Batman survived but was captured and taken to Heretic's master, Talia, at the Sisters of Perpetual Grace convent outside of the city. He was subjected to Mad Hatter's brainwashing programming without pause.
Two weeks, one day, and 15 hours after Batman's disappearance, there was already a palpable uptick in underworld activity. Pennyworth feared it would only get worse and reached out to Nightwing for help. Nightwing made the tough call and donned one of Batman's older suits. Wayne supplied Talia's group with the location of a secret vault on Sub-Level 3 at Wayne Tech. Heretic led the team on a raid and secured a crucial technological component. Wayne endured strange visions. From sleeping with many women at once to suddenly reliving the murder of his parents, to being pulled underwater by the people in his life. Talia ordered Mad Hatter to dig deeper and push past the trauma to the child Wayne was before he lost his parents. Disobeying Talia's orders, Heretic kidnapped Robin and brought him to the convent. A tracker was hidden on Robin's suit as a precaution for his moonlighting. Soon, Batwoman, Batman (Grayson), and Batwing converged on the convent. Talia ordered a retreat but left Bruce and Damian Wayne behind. Damian got him free, slapped him out of his daze, and walked him out. They soon encountered Grayson.
The convent partially collapsed in the battle. Wayne, Robin, and Grayson fell to a certain death but Batwing saved them. Wayne coldly declined any further assistance from Batwing and Batwoman then ordered Nightwing and Robin back to the city. A week later, Wayne was in surprisingly good condition. On the eve of the World Tech Summit, Wayne stated they would hunt down Talia after he was finished hosting the event. Grayson disagreed and wanted to involve Batwing and Batwoman. Wayne and Grayson came to blows over it. Wayne was none to pleased to have their secrets also revealed to them. Pennyworth reiterated he was absent and Grayson had to make the hard call. Wayne conceded to Pennyworth's point but wanted to keep it in the family going forward. Grayson revealed Batwoman was still working on the hard drive recovered from the convent. Wayne stated she was done after the drive was hacked and stated he called the shots. Wayne was still under the control of Talia's programming and alerted her Batwoman had the drive.
The next day, Bruce Wayne gave his keynote address at the World Tech Summit. He formally introduced beta versions of Wayne Tech's cutting edge translators then revealed the venue was actually the Watchtower Initiative, a joint venture between Wayne Tech and S.T.A.R. Labs to combat threats to the modern world. All the while, Talia and the remains of her team infiltrated the summit and set up shop. Nightwing, Robin, Batwoman, and Batwing realized the truth about Wayne and Talia's plans. They conducted an air drop into the Watchtower but were quickly met with Talia's team. Nightwing was forced to fight a brainwashed Batman. Batman eventually broke Nightwing's left shoulder and toyed with him until Talia tossed him her gun and ordered Nightwing's death. Robin caught up to them and realized she only cared about control and not Ra's al Ghul's vision of a better world. Talia ordered Batman to start with Robin instead but Nightwing begged him not to kill and lose his soul to her. Nightwing reminded Batman he brought them all together because he understood their pain and loneliness better than anyone ever could. They needed a family. They needed Batman.
Batman struggled. Nightwing declared he wasn't just a mask. He was the best man he ever knew. Batman turned the gun on himself, unable to keep fighting the programming. Talia drew her sword on Nightwing but Batman shot it out of her hands. Nightwing and Robin held Batman up. Batwoman and Batwing caught up and surrounded Talia. Talia wondered how she could ever love him. Batman doubted it was love. Talia admitted she thought of little else for the last 12 years. She pulled a grenade and feigned suicide to escape outside onto her transport, only to crash into the ocean after Heretic's second, Onyx, attacked her. Back at Wayne Manor, Bruce had a heart-to-heart with Damian over Talia's demise. Some time later, Batman accepted Batwoman and Batwing into the family. They all met atop the Gotham City Police Department headquarters but noticed a police pursuit of the Penguin on the streets below. They joined in the chase unaware of a Batgirl starting her first night.
Justice League vs. Teen Titans[]
While the Justice League engage in battle against the Legion of Doom, Robin was frustrated to be left handling crowd control. After the Legion was defeated, Weather Wizard attempted to flee, but stepped on a shadow that possessed him, transforming him into a red-skinned four-eyed entity, who could use his climate manipulation, despite not having his scepter to do it. When the Wizard went above the sea, Robin took the Batplane and programmed a collision course and detonation of its artillery; Robin ejected to parachute to the ground, as the Batplane hit the Wizard, with a massive explosion knocking him from the sky. Wonder Woman used her Lasso of Truth to determine what happened to the Wizard, but the shadow was purged from him, leaving the criminal confused about what had happened.
Batman was upset by Robin's insubordination and inability to work on a team, so allowed Nightwing to take the boy to the Teen Titans, with the idea to both make him an effective member of a team and allow socialisation with peers closer to his own age. Meanwhile, Batman studied security footage with Cyborg; Batman noticed that the shadow that possessed Weather Wizard was emulating a pillar's shadow, thus indicating intelligence. Cyborg pondered what the shadow wanted with the Wizard, but Batman realised that it was actually waiting for the League, if not specifically Superman.
Batman's prediction proved true as he and Wonder Woman intercepted Superman when he was uncharacteristically beating Atomic Skull to death. Batman pulled out a shard of kryptonite, which weakened Superman, however, he changed like the Wizard as his skin turned red and two extra eyes opened above the other two. The possessed Superman ominously proclaimed about Trigon's return and how the "girl" would allow it to happen, then he flew away.
From analysing data of the cryptic clues, Batman deciphered that the prophesied girl was Raven, one of Robin's new teammates in the Teen Titans. Cyborg boom tubes himself, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash to the foot of Titans Tower, whereupon found the Titans already present. Batman revealed his deductions and determined that Raven needed to go with the League; however, Starfire, Blue Beetle, Beast Boy, and even Robin - due to his recent bonding with her - declared that they would be the ones to protect her. Robin openly addressed Batman as his father, to the shock of some of the Titans. Unfortunately, Raven understood that Trigon, her demonic father, had desired this confrontation, as his Corruptors appear to possess the League, although Batman prevented his own possession by injecting himself with a powerful neuro-toxin that seemed to destroy his Corruptor.
The Titans and possessed League fight each other, and despite an occasionally even field, the League's power proved greater, as each held a Titan at their mercy, ready to execute them if Raven didn't obey Trigon's will. Raven solemnly acknowledged her status as Trigon's daughter to order the Corruptors to withdraw from the Titans; Raven sadly farewell her friends, opening a portal for her and Trigon's League. Before they all vanish, Blue Beetle shot a probe at Cyborg's nape that shocked a powerful electrical charge into his body, exorcising his Corruptor.
Within the Tower, Batman was put on life support; Robin expressed disdain for the other League members for failing to display the same level of determination and self-sacrifice. From the injuries suffered by Batman and Cyborg purging the Corruptors, the Titans realise that the possessed can be saved through sufficient physical damage; despite this revelation, they still don't know where on Earth that Trigon tool their captive allies. However, Robin revealed that he had placed a tracker on Raven, around the same time as for each of them; while uncomfortable at Robin's lack of restraint, the rest of the team and Cyborg head out to stop Trigon.
While Trigon was able to breach the Earth, the League were freed from Corruptors, the Titans made a path through the Hell dimension, and Raven could complete the imprisonment ritual to trap Trigon within an astral plan inside a crystal. 10 days after the struggle, the League contacted the Titans through a video screen; Batman reassured them that any sign of Trigon was gone, and he and the League commend the Titans for their pivotal work in saving the world. Batman subtly reiterated his pride for Robin, too.
Justice League Dark[]
All over the world, people suddenly begin panicking as they start to see everyone around them as demonic monsters and end up killing innocents before members of the Justice League stop them. Deliberating about this strange outbreak, most of the League's members come to the conclusion that magic must be involved in this. Despite his own past experiences with magic, Batman expresses his skepticism and walks out; but as he returns to Wayne Manor to rest, he suffers a temporary blackout (from a possession by Deadman) and then finds the word "Constantine" written all over the nearby walls.
Batman visits Zatanna after one of her performances and begins to ask about Constantine, with whom Zatanna had a disappointing romantic history. Deadman possesses Batman once again and tells Zatanna she needs to see John.
Zatanna brings Batman to Constantine, but they’re attacked by a magical whirlwind summoned by an unknown sorcerer.
The trio narrowly manages to get inside John's house in time where they’re joined by Black Orchid, the spiritual embodiment of the House. The group gathers to share information, and after a quick discussion and some argument between John and Zatanna, form a team to investigate the cause and reason for these supernatural occurrences.
The heroes visit a friend of Constantine and Zatanna's named Ritchie Simpson, but outside the house, they find shroud spirits of Death waiting to collect Ritchie's soul upon his upcoming demise. The team is granted entry by Simpson, who’s suffering from magical cancer and resentful of Constantine for abandoning him to his fate but loans them the Keshanti Key.
At hospital Batman, Deadman, Constantine, and Zatanna narrowly manage to escape from a living feces beast conjured to consume the man, and Zatanna proceeds to destroy the monster.
Returning to Ritchie's home to identify the ring from the man's memory, the team finds him about to die, with Blood nearby. Batman revives Ritchie with an adrenaline shot to the chest, but he quickly falls into a coma. After being brought to the House of Mystery for interrogation, Blood tells the team that he didn’t attempt to hurt Ritchie, but was looking for a way into the House of Mystery to find the Dreamstone. He reveals his past and Destiny. Ritchie awakens and names Felix Faust as his assailant before falling back asleep.
The group locates Faust's observatory and castle with help from Swamp Thing.
When they infiltrate Faust's lair, the wizard battles the team, but is ultimately defeated by Zatanna; however, Faust is found to have no involvement in hurting Ritchie.
Ritchie awakens and is revealed to have the other piece of the Dreamstone, which he has been using it to keep his cancer in remission; he apparently destroys Black Orchid, but then is seemingly killed when the Dreamstone brings Destiny back to life. Destiny declares himself a god, destroys the House and departs to sink the United States into chaos; Zatanna saves the group but passes out from the exertion. The Justice League attempts to fight Destiny, but he uses his powers to make them perceive each other as demonic threats.
Constantine tricks Destiny into bringing him and Deadman within his protective shield, allowing Deadman to wound Destiny, before Constantine, Batman, and Blood destroy the Dreamstone and Destiny's body, leaving Ritchie, whose soul is dragged to Hell by the shroud spirits. Right afterward, Blood succumbs to his mortal wound from centuries before. Zatanna agrees to join the Justice League and offers Constantine a position as well. Constantine initially declines to claim Batman wouldn't approve of him, but Zatanna claims it was his idea.
The Death of Superman[]
A creature that would be known as Doomsday began a murderous march from the ocean, through the woods, and nearing some towns near Metropolis. The available Justice League fight Doomsday, but are each taken day; Batman was able to complete the destruction of its protective suit, but only found its flesh was even stronger. Batman was left injured, but well enough to perform first aid on other defeated members, as Wonder Woman had pelted Doomsday away.
Ultimately, Superman was able to kill Doomsday, but suffered a mortal wound from its bone claw.
The League attended the public memorial for Superman, but Batman didn't attend, remaining at home to be supported by Damian.
The Reign of Supermen[]
The vacancy of Superman had multiple attempted successors, with scientist and inventor John Henry Adams appearing as Steel, a man like Superman but wearing yellow goggles dubbed the Eradicator, Superboy who was a clone created by Lex Luthor, and a half robotic so-called Cyborg Superman who claimed to be the original reborn from Kryptonian technology from the ship that took his dead body.
Due to Luthor's manipulations, Superboy was allowed to join the Justice League in their security detail for the President, and despite their doubts, Cyborg Superman was also allowed. In the sky, an Apokoliptan boom tube opened to unleash Parademons, which attacked the crowd and the President, but the creatures were swiftly defeated, with Cyborg Superman saving the President. During the fight, the League had been navigated to one space, which allowed the boom tube to fall from the sky on top of them, transporting them to an unknown realm. Regardless of the loss, the President believed everything was fine, since she accepted Cyborg Superman as the true Superman.
Cyborg Superman introduced a recruitment to bestow powers to people, thus volunteers are made into superhuman cyborgs; however, they appeared to lose any sense of self. It was discovered that the real Superman was being revived in the Fortress of Solitude that his ship built in the Arctic. Cyborg Superman was in reality Hank Henshaw, an astronaut whose crew and wife died when his shuttle was hit by the meteoroid carrying Doomsday, and who had been rebuilt and empowered by Darkseid in his latest plan to conquer the Earth.
The real Superman, while still not at full power, confronted Henshaw, to both help and receive help from Lois Lane. Due to Superman challenging Henshaw's autonomy, he ripped out the cerebral probe implanted by Darkseid, however, Henshaw was still obsessed with vengeance, so sent the cyborgs to attack the city to make Superman suffer. Luthor used a mother box to retrieve the Justice League, which began defending the city from Henshaw's cyborg converts.
Superman used the Kryptonian computational crystal that contained the Eradicator, and stabbed it into Henshaw's forehead, with the Eradicator deleting his consciousness, which also deactivated the cyborg army in the city. The League welcomed their actual resurrected friend and ally.
Batman: Hush[]
After Batman rescues an abducted child from Bane for a ransom, Lady Shiva informs him of an unknown Lazarus Pit intruder and requests his help in identifying them. Batman agrees to do so as Catwoman steals the ransom. While pursuing her, a masked figure shoots through Batman's grapple line, causing him to fall onto the sidewalk and crack his skull. Catwoman rescues him from a gang of criminals who tried to unmask him, but Batgirl chases her away.
Batgirl takes Batman back to the Batcave where Alfred and Dick Grayson create an alibi for how Bruce Wayne suffered the injury, such as crashing one of Bruce's cars to fake a traffic collision. Alfred contacts Bruce's childhood friend Thomas Elliot, a renowned brain surgeon, to treat him. When Bruce declares himself ready to be Batman again two weeks earlier than Thomas advised him to, Alfred gives him a new bulletproof blue Batsuit with a padded cowl for better skull protection. Meanwhile, Catwoman delivers the ransom to Poison Ivy, who has been controlling her overall actions with a hypnotic kiss. The masked figure who shot Batman then arrives to confront Ivy about the ransom and gives her Kryptonite in the form of lipstick.
Batman helps Amanda Waller retrieve Bane from police custody in return for information. Waller uses the special tranquilizers supplied by him to stop Bane from escaping police custody and capture him herself. Batman later reluctantly works with Catwoman to find Ivy, following a lead given by her to Metropolis. There, Batman confronts probationary Justice League member Lex Luthor, about the delivery list of an ethylene compound utilized by Ivy. Ivy uses Kryptonite lipstick to control Superman and orders him to kill both Catwoman and Batman. Catwoman pushes Lois Lane off a building, with Superman's feelings for her allowing him to break free from the mind control, as he flew up to safely catch Lois. Ivy tried to hypnotise Catwoman again, however, she had nose plugs that filtered the pheromones, thus was free to beat Ivy into submission. After Ivy is defeated, she reveals she was acting on the orders of a supervillain known only as "Hush".
Hush later kidnaps the Joker to persuade Harley Quinn into attacking an opera attended by Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, and Thomas Elliot. During the commotion, Hush lures Thomas outside and kills him, framing the Joker for the murder, much to Batman's anger. The Joker attempts to claim his innocence before Batman brutally beats him and nearly kills him, however, he was stopped by Jim Gordon threatening to shoot him to prevent him sullying his legacy, which is enough to stop Batman's fury.
Following the Joker's arrest and Thomas' funeral, Bruce deduces that Hush knows he is Batman. While on patrol, Hush catches Batman's attention and confronts him, although Hush tricks him by using mirrors. He then threatens to hurt everyone close to him, prompting Batman to reveal his identity to Catwoman. Bruce takes Selina to the Batcave, where she meets Dick and Alfred and learns of Bruce's son Damian. The two become both a crime-fighting and romantic couple. The Bat and Cat defeat multiple criminals and supervillains without much challenge. Batman and Nightwing team up again to capture the Riddler; Nightwing offered his support to Bruce's relationship with Selina, but Bruce bluntly refused any opinion. They easily catch Riddler, with Batman pondering the divergence of the OCD-stricken criminal's break from his modus operandi.
Hush later lures Dick and Selina to Thomas’ grave, where they are attacked by Scarecrow. Dick is incapacitated by Scarecrow's fear toxin; when Scarecrow tried to use the gas on Catwoman, she was left unaffected due to still using the nose plugs that stopped Ivy's pheromones. Catwoman subdued Scarecrow, who frighteningly cried about a mysterious "he" that would kill him. She helped Nightwing receive a dose of anti-toxin, although its effect hadn't kicked in yet, thus Hush was able to kidnap Selina without added resistance.
Shortly after, Commissioner Gordon informs Bruce of a break-in at Thomas’ office. While investigating, Batman learns that one of Thomas' patients was someone using the alias of crossword puzzle inventor Arthur Wynne, leading him to suspect Edward Nygma aka the Riddler was behind the break-in. At Arkham Asylum, Batman interrogates the Riddler, who reveals that he had gone to Thomas Elliot for his surgical expertise to treat his brain tumour, but it was inoperable; in his desperation to survive, Riddler deduced Batman's secret identity while using the Lazarus Pit to cure his untreatable brain tumour. Upon the Pit healing him, while also granting him superior intellect and strength, he took on the identity of Hush due to his lack of respect among other villains. Hush murdered Elliot in revenge for his failure to treat his cancer, as well as make Bruce Wayne suffer. However, Batman deduces that this "Riddler" is actually Clayface in disguise, as when he slashed the criminal's throat, a device that Riddler had used to control Clayface was extracted. Now free, Clayface angrily fought Batman and Gordon, but Batman managed to defeat him; from the control device, Batman learns where the real Riddler has taken Selina: a factory whose name is an anagram of Arthur Wynne.
At the factory, Batman rescues Selina and defeats the Riddler, who is growing weaker as the Lazarus Pit's effects wear off. Even so, Riddler almost delivered a fatal blow, but Catwoman blocked it; she and Batman cooperated to overwhelm Riddler, with the fight damaging the factory controls, triggering a chain reaction. With the building about to explode, Batman risks his own life to try and save the Riddler from falling into a vat of molten metal. Realizing this, Selina cuts the grapple line holding the Riddler and lets him fall to his death to allow Batman to escape.
Once they reach safety, Batman and Selina argue over the latter's actions and decide to call off their relationship due to Selina being unable to cope with Bruce's moral code. Despite the end of the relationship, Selina expressed a sincere hope that Bruce will be okay, and he offered her likewise.
Justice League Dark: Apokolips War[]
Superman delivered a presentation about his planned raid into Apokolips, to defeat Darkseid to prevent him from repeating another attempt of conquest, such as his prior foiled invasions, the Doomsday attack, and Cyborg Superman. The presentation was delivered in the Watchtower hangar bay, and was broadcast to other heroes, such as in Titans Tower. Despite some objections from John Constantine, the Flash, and Lex Luthor, Superman refused to heed them, as the evidence hinted that Darkseid's subsequent invasion was imminent, therefore the Justice League will attack Apokolips.
Despite them believing it secret, Darkseid had been observing their briefing because he had access through Cyborg's Apokoliptan implants. Beyond knowing the strategy, Darkseid had also created a new form of Parademon, which were combined with Doomsday's genetic material, therefore were far stronger Paradooms. Darkseid's new creations quickly overwhelmed the League, killing or horribly wounding the heroes, with Shazam escaping with a missing leg to warn Earth, and Constantine uncharacteristically fleeing through a portal back home, leaving his lover, Zatanna, to die. Darkseid healed or revived some superheroes as cybernetic slaves, to be his new Furies; he also injected liquid kryptonite into Superman to annul his powers, as well as tortured and brainwashed Batman into becoming his servant, too.
During 2 years, Batman orchestrated Darkseid's forces across the Earth to harvest its resources; Lex Luthor was made a reluctant governor, with an army of human collaborators, to enact Darkseid's designs on the planet. Batman also planned the three locations on Earth to plant tower-sized machines called Planet Reapers that gradually funnels the molten core to be teleported to Apokolips as fuel and to forge weaponry.
A counterattack was organised by Clark Kent and Lois, who gather surviving heroes, including Raven, Etrigan the Demon, Constantine, and Batman's son, Damian Wayne, who became Robin for the final struggle; they were joined by the Suicide Squad, led by Harley Quinn. They execute a multi-front attack against the Planet Reapers, as to lure Paradooms from Apokolips to leave the dark world less defended, which succeeds, thereby allowing the main team to storm LexCorp Tower to reach the top floor's boom tube - the only direct route to Apokolips. The ultimate goal was to detonate a reactor that would obliterate the evil planet.
Once Luthor's soldiers are killed, beaten, and overcome, the heroes cross Luthor himself, who hurt Robin, which enraged Raven, so her demonic powers rip Luthor out of his warsuit. Luthor was spared as it was revealed he was Sleeper, the spy who had been feeding Lois intel over the 2 years, thus wasn't a traitor as expected, rather a double agent. The main attack team are given kryptonite arsenals - that hurt Paradooms since they have Kryptonian DNA - courtesy of Luthor, then they split into two teams, with one heading to Apokolips, and the rest guarding the boom tube in LexCorp Tower.
Since using the boom tube triggered an alert, Batman contacted Luthor to question him; Luthor lied to pretend it was a routine power drill, but Batman realised that he had betrayed Darkseid, thus threatened him, while sending Paradooms to the Tower. Luthor dryly noted to the Suicide Squad that he was all in with the team now.
As Darkseid ravaged the Green Lantern Corps on Oa, Batman contacted him to warn him of the incursion. Darkseid dismissed the threat, but deeming a desire to complete the destruction of Oa, he ordered Batman to teleport an ocean of the extracted molten core from Earth; Batman does so, which killed the remaining Lantern, as well as exploded the Main Willpower Power Battery.
When the raid team cover ground on Apokolips, they are detected by the Furies, who attack them. When Constantine was knocked to the ground by Wonder Woman, Etrigan intercepted, and engaged in a sword duel with the brainwashed Amazonian. Despite seeming like an even fight, Wonder Woman killed Etrigan, but the time allowed Constantine to conjure the Lasso of Truth from her belt, and magically wrapped it around her; he cast a spell that freed Wonder Woman from Darkseid's thrall. She volunteered to fight the other still mind controlled Furies, so the team could advance.
Instead of a reactor, they found an imprisoned Flash, who had been forced to run endlessly on a treadmill to generate power, thus revealing the reactor had already been destroyed two years ago. Constantine hypnotised Flash to sleep, as he had been awake for two years of running; doing so, the sorcerer learned that the Flashpoint Paradox was real, and the speedster had unknowingly attracted Darkseid's attention to their universe in the first place.
When the team enter the throne room, they found Cyborg fused to the wall, and ranting about Darkseid's supremacy. Constantine used techno-magic that broke Cyborg out of his trance, which also freed the Furies, allowing Wonder Woman and them to rest to recover the exhaustion from their battle.
Before Clark's team could think of a contingency, they are shocked by the arrival of Darkseid and Batman; the former took a seat upon his throne, commanding the indoctrinated Dark Knight to deal with the intruders. Clark tried to attack Darkseid, but he effortlessly tore apart his borrowed warsuit, leaving him powerless again. Robin appealed to his father, but Batman hatefully rejected his plea, listing Talia's misdeeds, and claiming that Damian had only ever been a burden. While Raven tried to reason that the words were from Darkseid, Robin succumbed to his emotions and entered a fight against his father. The others are head at bay by the Mobius Chair's lasers.
As Batman and Robin fought, Batman claimed that he had always held back before, but now he won't; Batman shot bolas that bound Robin's arms, and disarmed him of his sword, using it to stab his son's leg. Darkseid demanded that Batman execute Robin, but as Batman looked at his son, he was reminded of his own traumatic past, as well as his connection to his son, thus the brainwashing broke. When Darkseid irritably repeated his execution order, but instead Batman tossed the sword, which stabbed Darkseid's eye and exploded, although not actually harming him.
Disappointed in the rebellion, Darkseid fired his omega beams at Batman, however, Robin jumped in front to take the hit, which gruesomely burnt his flesh. This traumatised Raven so much that the already decaying seal on the astral prison holding her father Trigon, completely eroded; Raven begged Constantine to kill her to prevent Trigon's escape, but he instead sent a magic dagger to pry the chakra from her forehead, and took it into his hold; the sorcerer shattered the crystal on the ground, creating a summoning circle that contained Trigon's essence as a black cloud with his identifying four red eyes. Constantine offered his body, that of a master magician, to Trigon so they could defeat Darkseid together; however, Trigon instead possessed Clark Kent, purging the liquid kryptonite and altering the body to similar to his own. Trigon snapped Constantine's neck.
As Batman cradled Robin, his son expressed relief to his father to back to his senses; Robin also acknowledged that he wasn't an ideal son, yet Batman accepted him for which he was immensely grateful. Robin admitted that Batman helped him become a better person, and he thanked him for it. Robin used his last breaths to plead Batman save everyone, and especially save Raven. Upon Robin's death, Batman embraced his late son in deep sorrow.
Due to being an Old God, Trigon was angered at Darkseid's implied superiority as a New God, thus the dark gods engaged in a brutal fight. Batman joined Cyborg as they attempt to contemplate their next move. On Earth, the Paradooms had eventually overwhelmed the defenses of LexCorp Tower; before he died, Luthor activated the self-destruct countdown. Batman recovered the communicator from the destroyed warsuit to receive an update from Earth, because with only three of the Suicide Squad left, Lois was preparing to deliver her final message to Clark. Batman had Cyborg project the transmission throughout the fortress; Lois apologised for being unable to spend more time with him, yet encouraged him to be brave. Clark managed to peer through Trigon's possession; Lois gave her final declaration of love, though died in the explosion before she could be finish. From the overpowering emotions, Clark was able to exorcise Trigon's essence from his body, restoring his super suit and maintaining his previously lost powers, thereby Superman was reborn.
Darkseid trapped Trigon's black cloud within an energy sphere; before he could retaliate further, he was alerted by Superman's presence, with the Man of Steel furiously bashing the New God. Meanwhile, Raven embraced Robin's dead body, and confessed her love for him; this unlocked her hidden White Raven powers, which allowed her to completely return Robin to full health, as well as restoring her own vitality. Similarly, in Heaven, Constantine reunited with Zatanna, who revealed he had fled two years earlier because of a compulsion spell he placed on him as a contingency as suggested by Batman. Since the universe still needed Constantine, he was resurrected by Zatanna and the powers of destiny.
Cyborg explained a plan that he could teleport all of the Paradooms from Earth to Apokolips, as to boom tube it, the creatures, and Darkseid himself into the void. However, since Darkseid needed to be distracted for the plan to work, the heroes are uncertain what to do, due to not wanting to leave Superman behind. Constantine and Raven realise a crazy but effective plan, which they do by conjuring a body for Trigon, so he could fight Darkseid in Superman's stead. As he was materialised, Trigon blasted Darkseid away from Superman, and ordered the Kryptonian to leave or else fight for the right to destroy the New God.
Due to Cyborg lacking enough biological components to be removed from the fortress wall, as well as the fact that he was needed to open the boom tube, anyway, he volunteered to remain, so the others could depart, who offer their respect and gratitude. Once the heroes had left, Cyborg generated a planetary boom tube that dragged Apokolips into its abyss; Darkseid tried to flee, but he was restrained by Trigon, therefore they both fall into the void. Apokolips exploded and its rubble vanished into nothingness, as the boom tube slammed shut.
The surviving heroes gather on the lawn of the ruined Titans Tower island. Batman reported that despite the Planet Reapers being destroyed, they managed to extract 31% of the Earth's molten core, which meant that the gravitational orbit had been compromised, leading to the eventuality of billions more dead. Despite Superman trying to encourage a solution due to the Justice League overcoming impossible odds before, all realise it would be impossible to implement any plan before catastrophic losses of life would happen.
Constantine reasoned to Flash that their only solution would be another Flashpoint. The Flash noted he was reluctant, especially since he promised his late wife, Iris, that wouldn't risk it again. Constantine acknowledged the risks, but countered that even if the next world had them make the same mistakes again, it couldn't be worse than the disasters still to come shortly. Thus, Flash acquiesced, and rushed off into the Speed Force; a final Flashpoint was commenced, as a white void encompassed the world, everyone, and the universe.
Some would be reborn as different selves in the subsequent universe, whereas others would unfortunately cease to be; nevertheless, the heroes hoped that they would be able to protect the next reality better..........
.....Although, they won't, as a threat even more destructive and alien than Darkseid awaited them.
