Listen up I ain't Neku, the name's Beat yo!
~ Beat revealing himself in NEO: The World Ends With You.

Daisukenojo "Beat" Bito is one of the deuteragonists in The World Ends with You and a major character of the NEO: The World Ends with You. He is a Player of the Reaper Game who is paired with his sister Rhyme, who does not remember him. After Rhyme gets erased, he joins the Reapers in the second week and leaves them to join Neku in the third week. In NEO he becomes a member of the Wicked Twisters in Week 2.

He was voiced by Subaru Kimura in Japanese and Crawford Wilson in the game and Van Barr Jr. in the anime in English.

Appearance[]

Beat has a punkish attire. He has a muscular build with blonde hair and blue eyes. He wears a white tank top with red lacing, beige shorts, red and black shoes with white soles, a black beanie with a skull on it, a black skull necklace, a black bracelet and a chain dangling from his pants.

In NEO wears a back hoodie with white crossbones, a white shirt with a chain necklace, black pants, black shoes with red laces and a bracelet. When mistaken for Neku, he has his hood up with and weird a black face mask. After revealing his identity, he removes his mask and pulls down his hood, exposing his hair that covers his right eye and a pair of headphones.

Personality[]

In The World Ends With You Beat initially comes off as hot-headed and aggressive, especially towards Neku. Deep down however he is a rather soft person who cares deeply for his friends and loved ones. He has a strong sense of justice, such as when he leaves the Reapers to patrner up with Neku to prevent him from being erased. He is also rather impulsive and dimwitted.

In NEO, much like in the first game he is very loud and impulsive, though his is much less hot-headed and is a kind and supportive to the Wicked Twisters. He dislikes being mistaken for Neku.

History[]

Before the events of the game, he was academically surpassed by his sister, causing his parents to belittle him and compare him to Rhyme. One day he decided to leave home. RHyme tried to convince him to come back bur Beat refudes. A car sped up, heading towards Rhyme, Beat tried to save Rhyme but the car hit both of them, killing them.

They ended up in the Reaper's Game as partners, however Rhyme lost her memories of Beat. On Day 2 they meet Neku and Shiki Beat proposes that the four team up but Neku refuses. On Day 3, Beat and Rhyme help Neku and Shiki defeat the Master of the A-East, Neku then agrees to team up with them. At the end of Day 4, a shark noise attacks Beat, Rhyme pushes him out of the way but is killed in the process. Sanae Hanekoma forms a pact with him to prevent his erasure and gives him a pin with Rhyme's soul in it. He ditches Hanekoma to ask the Reapers why he can't use the pin. At the end of the week, he decides to join the Reapers.

As a Reaper he is assigned to defeat Neku and Joshua. He attck them many times but fails. On Day 4, Beat drops his pin. The next day Neku gives it back to Beat.

He is seen again at the start of Week 3, when he realises that Neku will be erased without a partner, he leaves the Reapers and partners up with him. Rhyme's pin is taken from him as his entry fee. They are tasked with defeating Mitsuki Konishi. On Day 3, Beat is offered his entry fee from Uzuki and Kariya, after completing their task, they give Beat the pin, but it turns out to be fake, they apologize for being tricked by Konishi and give them their keypin. After defeating Konishi and getting his pin, Beat and Neku meet with Shiki and the three confront the Conductor. After defeating him, he is able to revive Rhyme and return to the RG, where they meet up with Neku and Shiki.

In A New Day, Beat and Neku end up in what appears to be the UG. They are tasked to get out of Shibuya, they are joined by Coco Atarashi. They venture through a mixed-up Shibuya, until they meet Hanekoma who reveals that it was Coco who dragged them into a pseudo-parallel Shibuya, Coco sends noise to attack the two. After defeating the noise, the two retuen to the RG. However, Coco shoots Neku.

In NEO he has been looking for Neku for three years. He ends up in the UG even though he didn't day, he disguises himself to prevent him from being recognised. He is first seen at the end of Week 1 after saving the Wicked Twisters from Kaichi "Susukichi" Susuki. The Reapers mistake him for Neku.

He appears again in Week 2, Day 2, after failing to defeat Tsumugi Matsunae, Tanzo Kubo orders Tsumugi to execute him. RIndo turns back time to locate his whereabouts. After defeating an army of Mr. Mew summoned by Tsumugi, Beat reveals his identity. He then joins the Wicked Twisters.

In Week 3 after encountering Minamimoto, he fights him off to save the Wicked Twisters. Before Minamimoto can finish him off he is saved by Neku. They help defeat Shiba and save Shibuya from destruction.
