The Beeper is the tritagonist of the AvM Shorts Season 4 episode "Lucky Block Staff". He is a creeper-bee hybrid that was made by Red while experimenting with the staff, and ultimately helped the Stick Gang fight and defeat the Orb.

The Beeper is a bee with the colors and face of a creeper.
History[]
When putting a mob spawner on the staff, Red discovered he can make animal hybrids. While doing so, he spawned a bee-creeper hybrid that he soon adopted and named Beeper, but had to keep distracting it with flowers so it won't explode. At one point, Red put a Lucky Block on the staff and thus allowed the Orb, an enemy he has already encountered before, return and haunt the staff, controlling its power.
Later on, the Beeper is one of the many creatures dragged into the Lucky Dimension by the Orb, and assists the Stick Gang in getting to the top of its tower and fight it personally. While fighting the Orb's minions, Beeper is occasionally shown reacting to what's happening, distracting the Giant Ghast from the fighting, or assisting Red by giving him TNT. At one point, the Stick Gang fights a Bee Queen that sends out an army of bees to attack the heroes; Red pulls out a beehive that lures all the bees inside, including Beeper, while the giant ghast kills the bee queen.
In the climax of the episode, the Stick Gang fights the Orb in its final form, which proves itself too strong and defeats them. With no other choice left, Red pulls out the beehive and grabs an End Portal Frame Staff that makes portals: After first tricking the Orb into attacking itself, he throws the beehive into one of the portals, causing the bees to free themselves and attack the Orb-possessed staff. Beeper exits the hive and looks at Red: when the stick figure gives a nod of approval, the Beeper proceeds to explode, thus separating the Orb from the staff and finally defeating it. Following his death, the Stick Gang quickly escapes the Lucky Dimension while the tower begins to collapse.
Once the day is saved and the stick figures are back home, Red makes a funeral for the Beeper before being put in time-out as punishment for causing the whole incident.
Trivia[]
- Beeper continues the trend of Red spawning mobs that help the gang, and is the first one to not be a pig.
- Series creator Alan Becker explicitly stated that Beeper is the character's name after his friend, DJ Welch, jokingly called it Zombee. However, at the end of the reaction video for "Lucky Block Staff", he jokingly claimed his name is TNT.
- Additionally, he has also stated Beeper always wanted to explode upon his self-sacrifice.
- Out of the hybrids that the Mob Spawner Staff spawned, Beeper is the only one with a completely unique texture.
- While Beeper's explosion might seem absurdly powerful when first watching the episode, on closer rewatch it becomes clear it's as pathetically small as one would expect; the gigantic explosion that destroyed the top of the Lucky Tower was caused by the Orb separating from its vessel.
