The Beholder is a recurring character in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. A grotesque mass of eyes, spikes, and tentacles with no respect for personal space, its role in the games has varied wildly over the course of the series, although it is usually either a boss or a summon (and sometimes both in the same game).
The Beholder is often found in barren environments, like deserts and lava fields.
Appearance[]
The Beholder's main body resembles an Eyeball, being a roughly spherical body with a large, bloodshot eye on the front and numerous jagged scales or spines along its sides and back. However, it also has a row of jagged teeth along its bottom and numerous large tentacles emerging from its back and underside. Some of the tentacles end in secondary eyeballs, and the others can generate barbs, burrow underground, or charge themselves with energy. All of the Beholder's eyes have a slit-like pupil flanked by two small dots, but its main eye also has two small projections on the sides of the pupil, making it resemble a cross.
Unlike the Eyeballs, the Beholder's colors have remained consistent throughout its appearances; a brown body with red spikes, yellow eyes with orange-brown pupils and veins, yellow-white teeth, and dull pink tentacles.
