You're a lot like your father. You really are, Peter, and that's a good thing, but your father lived by a philosophy-- a principle really. Ben Parker, better known as Uncle Ben, is the overarching protagonist of The Amazing Spider-Man duology.
He is the late uncle of Peter Parker. After Peter's parents disappeared, Ben and his wife, May, took Peter in and raised him.
He was portrayed by Martin Sheen. In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game, he was voiced by Mark Bramhall.
At one point, after a break into Richard Parker's house, Richard and Mary took Pete to live with his uncle and aunt when Peter was four years old. During Peter's childhood, his parents died in a plane crash, and as a result, Ben and May ended up having to raise Peter.
Raising Peter[]
Years later, Uncle Ben and Peter were trying to fix a broken pipe in the basement. When Ben went upstairs, Peter found a really old suitcase which to him curious. He brought it upstairs to ask about it, and his uncle said the case was his dad's and that he should look inside, which Peter promptly did.
Ben came to Peter's room and confronted him about his findings, trying to comfort Peter about his parents. During this conversation, he revealed the name of his father's co-worker, Curtis Connors. When Ben left the house Peter went onto the internet to discover what he could about his parent's work, part of which was their deaths via plane crash. Peter continuined looking into Dr. Conners and discovered he was working at Oscorp Industries' famous Oscorp Tower so he went there.
During school the next day, Flash Thompson is humiliated by Peter on the basketball court, ending with Peter receiving detention. Uncle Ben had to change work shifts and tells Peter to pick up his aunt from work later that night. Instead, Peter forgets and goes back to Oscorp Tower to help Dr. Connors.
At home, Uncle Ben waits on the porch for Peter to return. When Peter arrives back home Ben tells him he forgot to pick up his aunt from work. Peter tries to explain that he forgot, but Ben is still upset and tells Peter he needs to apologize to May. May tries to reassure Peter that he doesn't need to worry about it, but Ben says that May ended up needing to walk home in the dark. The conversation ends up turning emotional and heated, ending with Peter asking about his father further, which Ben doesn't answer. Consumed by rage, Peter ends up storming out of the house, shattering the front door's glass with his super strength. Ben tries to stop him, but May reassures him that Peter will be back.
Death[]
Uncle Ben has been searching for Peter since he left, but during his search, he ends up encountering a thief who had just robbed a Cash Register. Uncle Ben tries to stop the thief by taking his gun after he drops it, but he ends up getting shot by the thief, who runs away right after. Peter hears the commotion and finds his uncle lying wounded on the sidewalk. Peter kneels next to his injured uncle and screams for help, but nobody answers.
