Benimaru Shinmon is the captain of Special Fire Force Company 7, Konro Sagamiya gave him this responsibility due to his illness. He is a Second and Third Generation pyrokinetic.
He is voiced by Mamoru Miyano in Japanese and by Aaron Roberts in English
Personality[]
Benimaru is a man who would rather work alone with a short-temper. He can even be disrespectful to many of his seniors. Despite this, he has a lot of faith in himself and in his brigade. Benimaru somewhat doesn't concern himself into any part of Tokyo other than Asakusa, not seeming to care about the rules that the emperor has created whatsoever, and acts with pride on his own agenda along with his brigade. However, Benimaru is a very honest man, though his honesty could come out as rude sometimes. Benimaru may destroy buildings and houses when facing Infernals, Asakusa see him as a hero and benevolent to his citizens. Despite of his rude nature, he seems to care about the Asakusa and the people who reside in it and becomes extremely upset to be having to put an end to the life of someone he really cares about and becoming extremely angered when misinformed, this happened when he thought Kantarō died that he even began fighting with the entire 8th Brigade.
Normally, Benimaru is rather calm and nonchalant, even when he purifies Infernals, this personality changes when he is angered which causes him to fight recklessly. He also has a hot-blooded side that takes pride in his skills and yearns for opponents to give him a fight worth his time. At the beginning of the attack on Asakusa, he seemed to have low self esteem about acting as the leader and taking control of the citizens, he would have Kantarō do the job for him but after encouragement from his brigade, he became more confident and stepped up to the matter. Benimaru is quite passionate about the worth of free will and despises the faith of the Holy Sol since the preach blind faith over human endeavor and also despises the oppressive nature of gods.
History[]
Before being adopted by Hibachi Shinmon and becoming the next heir, Benimaru was an orphan, making him apart of the fire department and helped put Infernal to rest when he was younger. Hibachi taught him everything about the lai Shutō fighting style and all the forms. He was a very strict master, who constantly belitting Benimaru for being a fool for his inability to use Sun Wheel correctly due to his self-doubt and usually punishing him whenever he got into a pointless fight. Since Hibachi was a brutish man, Benimaru needed Konro Sagamiya to communicate to him about good intentions.
In Year 196, Konro and Benimaru were fighting many Infernals that appeared within Asakusa that caused them to push their Ignition Abilities to the limit. By saving Benimaru's live by knocking him out so he can't fight due to his lack of strength, Konro fought against the Infernal. Konro recivied a big wound, but still incarcerated the Infernal at the cost of charing his body in the process. The next morning, he was discovered in the rubble, and told Benimaru that he is leading the responsibility of being the new captian of Company 7 due to his illness, so he became a Lietenant to Benimaru.
