Bentley is one of Sly Cooper's two allies. He is both the deuteragonist and secondary protagonist of the Sly Cooper series. He is the "brains" of the Cooper Gang, devising their plans and assisting the gang through them. He is an anthropomorphic turtle. Near the end of the events of Sly 2, Bentley becomes a cripple and is paralysed from the waist down. He is then confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. With his "brains" though, he manages to put a positive spin on things. And he constantly made modifications to his wheelchair which have actually him even more powerful and capable then when walking.  

Appearance

Bentley is a very short turlte with green skin and a brown shell.  In the first game, very little of him is actually seen.  In the second game, he wears a wooden hat and carries around a harpoon gun.  In the third game he ditches the wooden hat and replaces it with a helmet.  No longer carrying the harpoon gun, he always sits in a wheel chair due to the events of the end of Sly 2.  And in the fourth game he ditches the helmet for a differnet brown hat. In every game he can be seen wearing large circular glasses.  

Personality

Bentley is incredibly intelligent, and serves as the chief planner, the demolitions expert, and the computer hacker of the Cooper Gang.  As such, he tends to use big words and overexplained phrases and sentences which can go over the head of others, including Sly and Murray.  In the first and second games he tended to get scared very easily, worrying deeply about Sly when he's out in the field, and being frightened when he himself is out in the field.  However, he always means well and always has the well being of his friends in mind.  By Sly 3, he had gained a lot more confidence, to the point where Murray and Sly even called him devious at differnet points.  This also carried over into Sly 4.
