Berg Newspapers is a newsprint business in the manga and anime, Attack on Titan. They acted as an important facet to the Royal Government’s goal of maintaining peace within the Walls, only spreading information approved by the deputies of the Monarchy. They would eventually help the Survey Corps in the Coup d'état, in order to take down the Royal Government and spread the truth to the public.

The main purpose of Berg Newspapers is the distribution of printed media, which includes the recent issues and events happening inside the Walls. They also seem to help with the persecution of criminals by the creation of wanted posters that their illustrators produce.
All news articles were heavily edited in order to appease the Royal Government’s agenda. Specifically making the Monarchy and its government out to be the “good guys”. It’s also heavily implied that they were forced to downplay many societal problems so that the general public remained obedient.
After the Coup d'état, the company wouldn’t find themselves at the hands of a new suppressive force. As it’s never implied that the Military would keenly inspect news media such as Berg Newspapers. Meaning that the company would produce much less predetermined work, that was now much more open for different sources and arguments.

Berg Newspapers is shown to be a very popular and prevalent business whose works would be shown on a widespread scale inside the Walls. The Royal Government strategically took advantage of the company and started specifically forcing them to alter their articles to suit their own agendas, showing that the business has an important status surrounding the general public.
