Beta is one of the female main character of the of the anime, manga, light novel, and web novel series The Eminence in Shadow. She is the second member of the Shadow Garden's Seven Shades and a childhood friend of Alpha. In public she is known as an author under her pen name of Natsume Kafka, the author of numerous books and literatures are originally from Earth, that are told by her master, Shadow, in practice and unknowingly to the public. She uses these knowledge to publisher and rewrote them to the public.
She is voiced by Annie Wild in English and Inori Minase in Japanese.
Appearance[]
She is an elf with, blue eyes silver, hairs medium length hair with a braid on the left her hair and has a beauty mark on the left of her cheek.
Her Shadow Garden uniform is made a dark suit, made from slimes with gold decorations around her arms, shoulder, chest and waist. She a has two gold guard with a gold motif and purple circle on it, with two scarf attached on each side of her shoulder that have gold decoration and tassles at the end of each scarf

- Because she is the second member to join Shadow Garden, her name is "Beta" (β) since it's the second letter of the Greek alphabet.
- Her first and last name comes from Natsume Sōseki, Japanese novelist and Franz Kafka, a German novelist.
- She is secretly writing a book, which she titled The Chronicles of Master Shadow, noting his actions and Analects, which is also a popular series among the Shadow Gardens.
- She sometimes drifts in writing fanfiction of sorts, with her as the heroine and Shadow as the hero as love interests, although she doesn't share this version, and can criticise herself for being too inconsiderate for other readers.
