Bethany Walker, also known by her avatar Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Martha Kaply) of the 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and a major character of its 2019 sequel Jumanji: The Next Level .
She considers herself a very attractive girl, and believes that she always looks good in front of everyone and ends up in detention because she rudely refuses not to call class.
She was portrayed by Madison Iseman (who also played Mary Ellen in Annabelle Comes Home and Sarah Quinn in Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween) as a human, and by Jack Black (who also played Po in Kung Fu Panda franchise, Ignacio/Nacho in Nacho Libre, Lenny in Shark Tale, R.L. Stine in Goosebumps movies, Jables in Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, Eddie Riggs in Brütal Legend, Jonathan Barnavelt in The House with a Clock in its Walls, and Claptrap in Borderlands) as her avatar.
Personality[]
Bethany is a very vain, snobby, grumpy, rude and hysterical girl who never leaves her cell phone. She is also obsessed with her fitness and fitness, even avoiding carbohydrates. She also had a rude and unskilled remark about Spencer while she was talking to Alex Vreeke's father. Deep down, however, she is an extremely insecure girl who doesn't know who she wants to be.
She rediscovers health at Jumanji's Bazaar by taking a Pound Cake, which she believed was bread since she hasn't eaten it since she is 9 years old.
She's also proven to be a lot smarter than she appears to be, like the standard on Alex Vreeke, she realizes he's that kid who has been missing for 20 years.
When she becomes Shelly Oberon, she is forced to live without a phone and use her character to get out of Jumanji, which she manages to do after a while.
After exiting the game, she completely changes her character and starts enjoying life with her friends.
