Hero Overview

You’ve changed us, Grey, all of us. You’ve proven that even wild predators, like us, can change and live like civilized sheep if we want to. And even normally helpless sheep can fight back against predators. I know we’ll  be able to win with you leading us. We could defeat an army of saber-toothed tigers, let alone the Dark Wolves. You are the legendary Grey, leader of the first united village of sheep and wolves.”—Bianca’s motivational speech to Grey

Bianca is the secondary protagonist of the 2018 computer-animated film Sheep and Wolves and its 2021 sequel Sheep and Wolves: Pig Deal. She is prettiest she-wolf in the pack and the love interest, later wife, of Grey.

She is voiced by Ruby Rose in the first film and Kate Bristol in the second film, the former who later played Batwoman and the latter who also voices Kisa Sohma.

Personality[]

In the first movie, Bianca is in love with Grey and truly cares for him, but she is unsure if he loves her just as much. This uncertainty stems from Grey’s immaturity, how he spends his days goofing off and not taking on responsibility. Because of this, between the two of them, she is also serious, more focused and mature. However, as stated below, her love for Grey has its limits.

Despite her overall kind nature, Bianca can get rather emotional at times. When Grey pulls a childish prank on her, she becomes humiliated and hurt, and ultimately decides to break up with him. A far worse example of this behavior is when she and Grey reunite after he went missing. She breaks down into tears and blames Grey for his immaturity and irresponsibility resulting in his blood-thirsty arch-rival, Ragear, taking over the pack. Regardless of this, she is very much selfless, sweet-natured, warm-hearted and loving.

In the sequel, after they were married at the end of the original film, Bianca becomes a devoted wife, now irrefutably supportive of Grey and truly loves him dearly. She has a strong and independent personality, and is also brave, proud and able to take drastic action if the circumstances call for it. This is shown when she and Grey infiltrate the Dark Wolves’ camp to rescue their friend Mami, who’s being held prisoner by the Dark Wolves’ prejudicial leader, Gark. When Grey initially volunteered to rescue her alone, Bianca said she was coming as well and hugged him, saying “she came close to losing him once,” not wanting it to happen again. This implies she saw the error of her past behavior, realizing how hard she was on Grey and hopes to make amends for it.

When Grey begins to show doubts that they will win the upcoming fight against the Dark Wolves, Bianca’s support for Grey truly shines as she brightens his spirits with an inspirational speech, one that restores his confidence.

Physical appearance[]

Bianca (sequel)

Bianca is beautiful she-wolf with a slender, humanoid figure, long blue hair, and dark blue fur. She has black ears with white ear innards, bright blue eyes, black eyebrows, a small brown nose, a white face and fuzzy chest, with her dark blue fur following the contours of her eyebrows and muzzle, dark blue eyelids and eyelashes, a bushy tail and much darker blue hands and feet.

During the celebration in the first movie, she briefly dons tribal garb, consisting of a crown made of reddish pink and blue flowers with pinkish red feathers, one wristband with light blue and tan feathers on her left wrist and one with two small round, blue bells on her right wrist, three necklaces (one being a purplish-pink beaded one, one made with multicolored strings, and one with small pointed teeth tied together as a decoration), and reddish pink belt made of rope with what appears to be long reddish-brown fur (almost resembling a horse’s tail) and white flowers tied on for decoration.

In the sequel, her hair appears to be longer, as shown at right.

Bianca (1)

Bianca, as she appears in the original film.

Bianca is first seen with Grey, meeting at their usual spot under a large tree in a small glen. She tells him that he’d better win the fight against his rival, Ragear; since according to the laws of the wolves’ ancestors, enforced by their pack’s retiring leader, Magra, the new leader of the pack will be decided by a battle between two wolves, one in which the winner will inherit the position. For if Ragear wins, it could mean terrible trouble for the pack. Grey reassures her, then he tells her to close her eyes, and places her paw on the tree. When he tells her to open her eyes, she sees a natural heart formation in the tree’s bark, which she finds to be a “sweet surprise.” As Grey tells her he has a real surprise for her that night and hugs her, he sees Ragear and his lackeys, Skinny and Hobbler, disobeying Magra’s orders, as they chase after a young lamb named Shia. He rushes off to try and stop them, despite Bianca’s objection. After he leaves, she is greeted by her best friends, Sarabi and Leah. They ask her what “surprise” Grey was talking about, to which she explains that he might finally ask her to marry him, which delights her friends.

That night, during the celebration, Bianca, her friends, and all the other she-wolves, dressed in ceremonial garb, dance to the enlightenment of the male wolves. However, Grey reveals his surprise to Bianca; which turns out not to be a marriage proposal, but instead a chance to humiliate and infuriate Ragear. This kiddish and foolish attitude causes her to resent Grey. When he asks the rest of the pack to vote for a peaceful, friendly pack where no one bullies one another, as opposed to Ragear’s (furious) suggestion for a more experienced leader, he asks Bianca, who doesn’t raise her own paw, to do so. But instead, hurt by his childish prank, she walks out on him in disgust, prompting him to follow her. Outside, Bianca confronts Grey about his behavior, telling him that he is most definitely not ready to lead the pack, nor even for marriage, and that she’s tired of hoping that he’ll change his ways. Despite him telling her that he truly loves her, she heartbrokenly tells him that she’s through with him and leaves.

A couple days later, after Grey goes missing, Ragear, fed up with having to take orders from Magra, pushes him over a cliff to his death. Hiding his cold-blooded deed from the pack, he tells them that Magra lost his footing and fell while searching for Grey. Only Bianca, not believing his lie, attempts to make him confess. Instead, he continues to hide the truth, and announce himself as the new leader, even angrily adding that he will do away with the law which states that the new leader will be chosen by who wins the fight, along with all the other “laws of their ancestors.” The next day, as a terrible storm brews, Grey returns to his and Bianca’s usual meeting spot under the tree and calls out for her, only to get tackled by her when she hears him shout her name, not recognizing him at first (as he is now a ram thanks to a magic potion given to him by the gypsy jackrabbit, Mami). When she finally recognizes him and asks him what happened, Grey explains that he was trying to change himself for her, but was trying too hard, and because of it ended up this way. Bianca sadly goes on to tell him that Ragear has taken over during his absence and that Magra is dead because of it. Grey tells her that he’ll make things right, but to his horror, Bianca breaks down in tears and tells him to go away and leave her alone forever. But when she hears Magra declare war and announce that he and other wolves shall kill all the sheep in Sheep Village, Bianca realizes that Grey and all of his new friends are in terrible danger. Hoping to save her sweetheart and make amends, she rushes off to find Mami in hopes of restoring Grey to his true form.

During the climatic battle the next day, as Ragear confronts Grey, Bianca shows up with Mami, who has the antidote for him. He drinks it and is changed back into a wolf. In the end, Grey defeats the evil wolf, reclaims his pack and Bianca’s love, and the two are finally married in Sheep Village, where they and their pack live happily amongst the sheep in peace.

Sheep and Wolves: Pig Deal[]

Bianca (2)

Bianca, as she appears in the sequel.

Bianca returns in the sequel, playing a slightly more vital role than she did in the original movie.

One year after the events of the first movie, Bianca is first seen during the induction ceremony, in which Belgour, the former leader of the village, announces that he turn the position over to Grey. Grey himself is excited, but also a bit nervous. Bianca comforts and reassures him, telling him he deserves the position, that she’ll right by his side, and how proud she is of him. Afterwards, their friend Cliff haphazardly flies into town, telling everyone that two wolves are chasing a fox and a ewe. Grey tells everyone that he’ll check out, but Bianca, worried for his safety, wants to go with him. He assures her he’ll be fine and tells her to look after things until he gets back. After he rescues the two newcomers, he returns to the village and announces some bad news: the village is being threatened by a pack known as the Dark Wolves, lead by their tyrannical leader, Gark. Grey tells everyone that they will fight for their newfound peace and unity, to which Bianca and the others all agree.

One day, as the village construct a fortress to defend the village, Bianca notices the unusual design in the blueprint, finding it rather curious and suspicious. Her suspicion and confusion over the design proves to be quite agreeable, for soon enough, the fortress completely crumbles into ruin. Luckily, everyone manages to escape, unharmed. Later that day, in spite of the disastrous setback, when Grey learns that the Dark Wolves are holding Mami captive, he volunteers to rescue her. Bianca say she’s going with him, telling him that she came close to losing him once before, not wanting it to happen again.

That night, the two sneak into the Dark Wolves camp to save their friend. Bianca proves herself to be a valuable ally, as she helps Grey take out the various guards, and uses her acrobatic skills to leap up the ledge outside of Gark’s cave and toss down a rope for him to climb up, which greatly impresses Grey. After rescuing Mami, while they make their escape, she tells the duo that the Dark Wolves confiscated all her magic potions. So they head back to the village to concoct a new potion, one which might aid them in the coming battle the next day. Later that night, Grey is unsure about whether or not Gark’s assumption that sheep and wolves shouldn’t live together is right, wondering if maybe they should go back to the way things were. But Bianca comforts him and brightens his spirits with a motivational speech. Inspired by his wife’s support, Grey’s wobbly confidence is restored and the two share a loving embrace.

The next day, everyone takes a drink of Mami’s new potion as the Dark Wolves near the village border. However, unbeknownst to the villagers, a mysterious saboteur in league with the Dark Wolves, switched out the potion for another, causing all everyone to turn into defenseless pigs. As the Dark Wolves round up all the pigs and take them to the village square, after escaping being locked in Belgour’s shed, Grey battle Gark alone while their new friend Josey distracts the wolves as Skinny, who turned to be the saboteur, uses an antidote to turn all the pigs back to normal. After the villagers are restored to their original forms, and they successfully convince the Dark Wolves to change their ways and join their peaceful community, Bianca leads the group to aid Grey, who’s being brutally thwarted by Gark. Realizing that he’s horribly outnumbered and his own pack has turned on him, Gark drinks the rest of what believes to the be the potion his pack secretly stole the previous night. However, he ends up drinking the wrong potion and turns into a small, black pig.

With Gark defeated, peace returns to the village. Soon after, Grey and Bianca have a son named Duke, and they live out the rest of their days in peace and harmony.
