Barda Free , better known as
Big Barda , is a major character in the 2010 animated movie
Superman/Batman: Apocalypse .
She is the ex-leader of the Female Furies and once she was freed from Darkseid's control, she lives a normal life on Earth, however, when Kara Zor-El is captured by Darkseid, Batman , Superman , and Wonder Woman come to her for help.
She was voiced by Julianne Grossman.
Biography [ ] She has first seen a robe when Superman and Wonder Woman visit her at her house; Batman also appears in her house, when Superman tells Barda that he needs her help and that Darkseid kidnapped Kara Zor-El . She then tells Superman that she is lost to him, that she is sorry because it is too late, and that Darkseid will have her under mind control, just like he controlled her. Superman then says all they ask is to get her mother box to get to Apokolips, Big Barda agree to get them to Apokolips but with one condition: she comes with them since she knows Darkseid's fortress better than they do. They then travel to Apokolips with Barda using her mother box to activate a boom tube when Darkseid sends para demons after the heroes. Barda, alongside the other heroes, takes them down Barda alongside Wonder Woman, then travels into the sewers. When they get out, they meet with Granny Goodness and her female Furie, and Wonder Woman and Big Barda fight the Furies.
Later, Lashina knocks out Big Barda and then ties up Barda to force Wonder Woman to surrender. Barda tells Wonder Woman to let them kill her and never surrender. Wonder Woman manages to stop them, with Big Barda getting out, and with Granny Goodness tied up, Big Barda puts her sword to her throat. Granny Goodness tells Barda to kill her, but Barda refuses and instead takes Granny to Darkseid. Darkseid expresses disappointment to Barda for showing mercy on Granny Goodness; the heroes then leaves Apokolips. Barda is then last seen at Superman's speech; she claps for Supergirl along with the others.
