Hero Overview

Eeeeyup.
~ famous line

Big McIntosh (also known as Big Mac) is a red stallion from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He is the grandson of Granny Smith and the older brother of Applejack and Apple Bloom. He is a very gentle and hardworking pony who usually only speaks by saying, "Eeyup" or "Nnnope."

Appearance[]

Big McIntosh is a red Earth Pony with an orange mane and tail, with yellowish hooves and green eyes. His eyes are almost always half closed and he looks slightly bored all the time. He also has a girdle around his neck area.

As a human, Big McIntosh a tall with a lean build, he has a light gamboge hair, moderate sap green eyes and a pale, light grayish amaranth skin tone with freckles on his face. He is currently wearing a red jacket with brown collar over a white t-shirt, blue jeans with a brown belt and red & white sneakers.

Biography[]

In the episode "Heart and Hooves Day", the Cutie Mark Crusaders used a love potion to make Big Mac fall in love with Cheerilee. After discovering that the potion had disastrous consequences, they found a way to to break the spell. Despite Big Mac and Cheerilee being no longer lovers, they are apparently still friends as they were seen together in the episode "Just For Sidekicks". He got a new love interest just after Cheerilee, in season 7 when he falls in love with Sugar Belle, from Our Town, after he and the Cutie Mark Crusaders visited the village in the episode "Hard To Say Anything". Sugar Belle got angry when him and a other pony tried to get her heart and almost destroyed her cake business, but eventually she and Big McIntosh seem to have feeling for each other, and they eventually get married. In "The Last Problem", Big Mac becomes a father to his son named Big Sugar.

Cultural References[]

  • According to My Little Pony fans, his voice sounds a bit like Yogi Bear, particularly in "The Cutie Pox" when noticed that in some instances when he says, "Eeyup" or "Nnnope" after Applejack goes, "Lil' Apple Bloom has finally blossomed, hasn't she, Big Mac?". His baritone voice also sounds a little similar to the late Ed Gilbert's baritone voice for Gus from Kissyfur, especially since Gus at one point DID say "Eeyup!" His another voice almost sounds deep enough to match the late Thurl Ravenscroft's voice of Tony the Tiger, the advertising cartoon mascot for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes breakfast cereal.
