It's me, man]! It's Bill Nye, the uh, Science Guy, man! And I got a lil' song about life and death that I think might just end your worries, man! Listen.
~ Bill Nye introducing himself to Rotten the Snowman.

Bill Nye is a minor character in Smiling Friends who appears in the episode "Pim Finally Turns Green."

He is voiced by Marc M., who also voices Mr. Boss in the same series.

Appearance[]

He closely resembles the real-life Bill Nye, with short grey hair, brown eyes, brown eyebrows, and wrinkles around his eyes and cheeks. He wears a blue lab coat and a red bowtie.

Personality[]

He is depicted as an enthusiastic, friendly, and upbeat science advocate, dedicated to reassuring people about the inevitability of death by explaining it as a natural process that all living things on Earth experience. His approach is exemplified when he sings to Rotten the Snowman while descending in a hot air balloon, emphasizing that death is not something to fear. Unlike the real-life Bill Nye, he speaks very casually and informally.

Biography[]

After Pim asks Charlie if his uncle can still connect with Bill Nye, they concieve of a plan to use him to teach Rotten that death is not something to fear. Bill Nye arrives in a hot air balloon and begins a musical number about the same topic. In the midst of his song, however, the hot air balloon collides with a power line, causing an electrical mishap that sets the balloon ablaze, ironically dying in a gruesome electrical fire aboard his hot air balloon, achieving the opposite effect of what was intended.

Bill Nye succumbs to the incident, but his essence remains, lingering as a ghost and reemerging at the beach near the end of the episode.
