William Arthur "Bill" Weasley (born 29 November 1970) is the eldest child and son of Arthur and Molly Weasley and the elder brother of Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny.
He is portrayed by Domhnall Gleeson, who also played Thomas McGregor from the Peter Rabbit live-action films.
History[]
Bill attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from September 1982 to June 1989, and was both a prefect and Head Boy. After graduating, he went to work for Gringotts Wizarding Bank as a Curse Breaker, working in Egypt. In 1995, he returned to England and joined the reconstituted Order of the Phoenix to face the reborn Lord Voldemort. During this time, he started dating Fleur Delacour, and eventually asked her to marry him after a year spent together as a couple.
During the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, in which Albus Dumbledore was murdered by Severus Snape, Bill was attacked, severely injured, and scarred by a werewolf named Fenrir Greyback (the same werewolf that attacked Remus Lupin). However, as Greyback was in his human form at the time, Bill, unlike Remus, did not become a werewolf, but instead developed a liking for rare meat steaks.

- Domhnall Gleeson is the real life son of Brendan Gleeson, the actor to play Mad-Eye Moody in the movies.
- Many fans were angered at how Bill only physically appeared in the Deathly Hallows movies, due to the filmmakers failing to take into account that he was a supporting character in the books, along with the fact he appeared in Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince.
- Because of his absence in the fourth, fifth and sixth film, it resulted in continuity problems which include:
- No mention of how Bill met Fleur despite how the fourth book established how the two met.
- He was mentioned to be bitten by Greyback in the seventh film but due to his absence in Half-Blood Prince movie (since this is when Bill got mauled by Greyback at Hogwarts), it's not confirmed when and where it happened.
