Biography[]
Billy Blazes is a firefighter who hails from Quebec, he gained widespread fame after he rescued a group a kids from a burning carnival ride. Following the event, he was tasked by Commander Warren Waters to assemble a team of specialize rescue personnel in the event of high-risk emergencies. He recruited 20 different individuals who showed potential for the team, of which only 4 managed to stand out: Jake Justice, Wendy Waters, Ariel Flyer, and Jack Hammer.
The new team however proved disastrous during their first rescue mission: to rescue various inhabitants from a burning apartment building, during which Jake Justice made the severe mistake of opening a door to a apartment where a fire was lingering behind, causing a powerful backdraft that nearly killed Jake in the process. Feeling guilty for nearly leading one of his team members to their untimely death, he decides to quit the team, just as he is about to leave, he receives a video resume from potential recruit Rocky Canyon who wishes to try his best in order to make the team the best that it is. Feeling encouraged by Rocky's words, Billy reconsiders and remains team leader, and while he had to wait two years before Rocky could be recruited, he continued to improve his team to become a professional group of emergency specialists. Years later, Billy would share the same story to convince Rocky Canyon to stay as part of the Rescue Heroes.
Billy has a younger brother named Bobby who also followed in his footsteps to become a firefighter like him, much to his father's disdain, who preferred him to become a construction worker like himself; since then he and his father have had an estranged relationship and have not spoken to each other for a long time. It isn't until a fateful meeting during the "Storm of the Century" two-part episode that the two would reconcile their differences.
