Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure Card 7

Björn and Jerome are the two titular main protagonists in Stikbold: A Dodgeball Adventure. In the game, they can be best friends as they were unlocked as playable characters.

Role[]

Björn is the protagonist and Jerome is the deuteragonist.

Stikbold: A Dodgeball Adventure[]

Warming Up[]

In story mode, Björn and Jerome are initially seen in the gym, where Jerome is doing pushups and Björn is playing with a water broom while chewing his Strawberry Storm gum, which whitens grills and boosts skills. Björn suggests Jerome calm down and offers him gum, but Jerome reminds him that tonight's game is the final. Björn reassures Jerome, stating he'll ensure they both win gold. Jerome emphasizes the importance of teamwork, but Björn confidently declares himself a team and the best Skikbold player. Their coach emerges, referencing last year's finals, and urges them to move quickly and grab a dodgeball. After winning the game, Björn celebrates, asking "Who's ready? I am!" Jerome cautions that there's no "I" in team, but Björn counters that there is an "I" in win. When Heidi Starbrow and her partner arrive, Björn becomes infatuated, despite the coach warning that she cost them last year's cup. After Heidi and her partner are captured by the devil, the coach informs Jerome that their absence guarantees victory, prompting Björn and Jerome to embark on a rescue mission.

A Shady Fellowship[]

As Björn and Jerome search for the devil's tracks during their mission to rescue Heidi and her partner, they come across the honey hippies with their van. Finn, who is sitting on a nearby bench playing guitar, invites his friends to try the honey. This enrages Björn, who attempts to attack them, prompting Finn to hit him with his guitar and, along with a friend, jump on top of him. Jerome responds by throwing a beehive at the van, causing one of the bees to sting the hippies, and Finn instructs his friends to safeguard the honey.

A Sweet Ride[]

After battling the honey hippies, Björn and Jerome realize they must uncover what the hippies are hiding in their honey van. However, the hippies retaliate, sparking another battle. Following the clash, Finn implores Björn and Jerome not to confiscate their groovy honey, explaining that they harvest it from nearby beehives and mix it. Björn inquires about Heidi's whereabouts, and Jerome asks Finn if he has seen a red, horned figure, the devil. Finn reveals that he did see the devil, which he initially thought was the honey's potent effect. Jerome and Björn then inquire about the devil's location, and Finn directs them to the beach. After apologizing for damaging Finn's ride, the two receive forgiveness.

Beached Bikers[]

Björn and Jerome, wearing swimsuits, required a boat, and Jerome took charge to ensure everyone's safety. Björn cautioned Jerome to avoid reckless behavior. However, after a boy struck Jerome in the stomach with a whale toy and mocked him, Jerome confiscated the toy, prompting the boy to cry and kneel down. The boy's father, Biker, intervened, saying "Dude, that's my kid! Step away from the whale!" A confrontation ensued as the group of beached bikers immediately clashed with Björn and Jerome.

Legend, schmegend![]

After disrupting the annual biker beach party, legendary figure Miguel Cigar arrived on the scene. He informed Björn and Jerome that they were not permitted to take the vessel out to sea, not on his beach. Björn reminisced about Miguel's past glory as a champion Stikbold player, but Miguel emphasized the importance of teamwork. He urged Björn and Jerome to mature and focus on serious life matters, demanding that they hand over the whale toy. However, when they refused, Miguel became enraged, blew his whistle, and instructed his lifeguards to confiscate the toy.

Blind Redemption[]

After defeating the legendary Miguel and his numerous lifeguard minions, Björn and Jerome set sail, following black tracks. Upon reaching an oil rig, Björn spotted the devil's footprints and oil. Meanwhile, a captain, using his pirate telescope, mistook the duo's whale toy for actual whales and thought he had found his catch. An activist suddenly exclaimed, "Whale shall prevail! Whale shall prevail!" The captain, however, insisted that this was his catch and refused to stop. He then grabbed a harpoon and popped the whale toy, launching Björn and Jerome into the air, where they landed on the oil rig. Jerome warned the captain to cease, emphasizing that he and Björn were a team. Undeterred, the captain engaged them in battle.

Whale Sign[]

Following the confrontation with the captain, he apologizes to Björn and Jerome, explaining that he mistakenly identified them as the white whale, which is actually hunting him due to its hunger for human flesh. After Jerome points out that it's getting darker and they need to find Heidi to avoid missing the final, the captain instructs Björn and Jerome to distract the white whale while he retrieves ammunition, as the massive creature stirs beneath the surface of the sea after the unexpected visit to the old abandoned oil rig.

Lord of Darkness[]

After preparing the captain's dinner, Björn and Jerome leap through the oil rig's main pipe portal into a sulfurous abyss. Later, in the story mode, upon encountering Satan while attempting to rescue Heidi and her partner, Jerome remarks, "Considering he's the Lord of Darkness, he's surprisingly...humdrum." Björn demands Satan's release of Heidi and her partner, but Satan refuses, prompting Björn's anger and attempted attack. However, recalling Miguel Cigar's advice about teamwork, Björn and Jerome propose a Stikbold match to Satan: if they win, Heidi and her partner will be freed. Unbeknownst to Satan, he would typically prefer a fiddle contest. Satan proposes a dodgeball game instead, summoning his skeleton warriors, with the stakes being Björn and Jerome's souls for eternity if they lose.

Unexpected Reunion[]

After being defeated by the heroes, Satan throws a tantrum, lamenting his decision not to play the fiddle, but before he can escape, the coach intervenes, furious that Björn and Jerome didn't secure the trophy, and punches him. The coach then transforms into an Evil Coach, taking the devil's staff and berating Björn and Jerome as pathetic losers who prioritize winning at all costs. Witnessing the coach's transformation, Jerome wonders if they inadvertently ingested some hallucinogenic honey, but Björn denies it, and together they decide to confront the coach.

Something's cooking[]

After defeating the evil coach, Björn and Jerome attempted to rescue Heidi and her partner from the dungeons, but their victory was short-lived as a more powerful form of the coach, Mega Coach, emerged from the depths of Satan's hell, looking similar in appearance to the Ice King from Adventure Time. Upon defeating Mega Coach, the coach transformed back into a human, shedding his pride and whistle, and disappeared. Jerome saved Heidi's partner, while Björn tried to rescue Heidi, but she jumped out of the dungeon, thanked him, and walked away, leaving Björn feeling dejected and wondering if she ever truly loved him.

Finally Finals[]

In the story mode version of the game, the final scene unfolds in the locker room where Jerome asks Björn about their strategy. Björn responds by suggesting that no one can succeed alone. At that moment, Miguel Cigar appears, noting that they've finally grasped this concept. He reveals that he's ready to make a comeback as a lifeguard and inquires if Björn and Jerome are seeking a new coach. The trio celebrates with a high-five. Subsequently, Björn and Jerome engage in the final dodgeball match against Heidi and her partner, with Jerome emerging victorious. Although Björn loses and becomes disheartened, Heidi consoles him, expressing admiration for his gameplay. Björn dismisses the importance of Stikbold, but Heidi clarifies that she's referring to his actions beyond the game. The conversation concludes with Björn and Heidi agreeing to dine together the following night.

Showdown[]

In the post-credits scene of the game's story mode, Jerome congratulates Björn on finding Heidi, referring to her as a bunny, but quickly shifts the conversation to their longstanding debate over who is the superior Stikbold player. Björn accepts Jerome's implicit challenge, asking "You wanna go?" and the two engage in a friendly dodgeball match, bringing the story mode to a close.

Trivia[]

  • Jerome's ancestry is African American, while Björn's ancestry is a mix of Swedish, Icelandic, Dutch, and German, as indicated by his blonde hair and the origins of his name.
