Black Rabbit is one of the main heroine protagonists of the anime, manga, and light novel series Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?, also known as Problem Children and Mondaiji-tachi. As a special Moon Rabbit and Aristocrat of Little Garden, she is quite strong and tries to guide the "Problem Children" in their new world, but ends up getting flustered easily and gimmicked. The "Problem Children" are the other three main characters, born with unnatural powers. Together, they attempt to restore the No Name clan to its former glory.

She was voiced by Iori Nomizu in the Japanese version, and by Jessica Calvello in the English version.

Appearance[]

Black Rabbit is noted to be very attractive, and as a result, she is the subject of many perverted jokes, from Izayoi, Shiroyasha, and even bad guys alike. She has the appearance of a beautiful young woman with long blue hair, red eyes, and Moon Rabbit physiology, which gives her blue rabbit ears and a blue rabbit tail. When emotionally provoked, her hair color turns bright pink. Asuka has commented that it is a beautiful shade of pink.

Her regular attire consists of a black dress with white frills made up of a short, provocative, red miniskirt, a black vest, and black stockings. The miniskirt is literally provocative, which is why it is in the description, because it was intentionally designed by Shiroyasha to almost allow perverts to nearly see what's underneath. Black Rabbit does not like exhibitionism, but wears this attractive outfit because Shiroyasha promised a 30% increase in pay.

At home, Black Rabbit has even more outfits, all of them "gifted" to her by "the pervert Shiroyasha". As you may infer, these outfits are questionable, and thus she never wears them. Even when promised a larger increase in pay for wearing something even more revealing, she refused.

Personality[]

Black Rabbit is very supportive and earnest, and while trying to remain serious due to her admirable conviction, she is easily excitable and flustered. She has a very upbeat, cheerful attitude that she normally keeps, only on very rare occassions does she lose her cool. Normally the only way she could lose her cool is if something were to happen to one of her comrades, making her somewhat selfless. Notably, she normally refers to herself in 3rd person.

She is very compassionate, and does everything she can to help the No Name community. She also helps the Problem Children despite falling for their antics from time to time. They share a close relationship. She holds true admiration towards Izayoi Sakamaki, as proven when she desperately pleaded for him to help the No Names defeat the Demon Lords after seeing his gifted abilities, and was overjoyed when he said yes. Towards all of her companions, she will do anything to help them.

Abilities[]

Natural Abilities[]

As a Moon Rabbit, most of her abilities are either unique to Moon Rabbits or exclusively taught to Moon Rabbits. Her most notable gift is her speed.

Enhanced Beauty: Due to her sexual appeal, she is very noticeable, and occasionally victimized. Perseus even wanted her to join his community, specifically because of her beauty. However, this is advantageous being a Judge Master, and can also demoralize opponents seeing that the No Names have a Moon Rabbit on their side, whether they are demoralized by her beauty or her aristocrat status.

Moon Rabbit Physiology[]

  • Supernatural Speed: Black Rabbit is a part of the Moon Rabbit race, the fastest species in Little Garden. Her speed is unmatched, except to Izayoi Sakamaki. She can seemingly travel to any part of Little Garden by foot, which no one else can do. However, she has a second ability as well as this one that makes this possible.
  • Aristocrat Status: Black Rabbit has more permissions due to her status as a Moon Rabbit. While normally you must meet a Floormaster before traveling to other regions of Little Garden (since other regions can be an unreal distance away), she doesn't need that. That is how she was able to catch up to Izayoi, Asuka, and Yō despite them having Shiroyasha teleport them.
  • Enhanced Strength: Black Rabbit has great leg strength, which is how she runs to fast. She can jump really high and bounce herself off walls. While she normally uses this strength to run fast, her enhanced strength is mostly evident because when she kicks someone, they go much farther than they normally would if anybody else kicked them (except maybe Izayoi).
  • Enhanced Hearing: Having the larger ears of a rabbit rather than the ears of a human, her hearing is above average. Her senses are probably on par with Izayoi's, but inferior to Yō's. However, her ears are connected to the Little Garden network, making her the only character who can be a Judge Master, thanks to these ears.

Gifts[]

Judge Master: Only people like Black Rabbit can serve as referee to games in Little Garden. Her ears are connected to the network of Little Garden, which is how her judgement is absolute. She has the ability to detect cheating. If she does sense that there has been cheating, she has the power to stop the game and force a trial, signaled by an influx of electric power.

Sun Armor: An ultimate defense that also shines like the sun; in its true form, it is an inpenetrable armor. But normally it is used to blind opponents and negate attacks weak to sunlight, which is how Black Rabbit was vital to the No Names' victory against Black Percher.

Spear of Indra: The antithesis to the Sun Armor, it is taboo to use them simultaneously. It is also the one thing that can destroy the Sun Armor. While it is only a replica, the original is so strong that it guarantees assured victory, meaning that saying it's weaker than the original just says it's powerful enough to end a war. It's been used as the finishing blow for many enemies, most notably Black Percher.

Mock Divinity Vajra: Black Rabbit can summon a golden colored mini-trident with two pointed sides. It posesses lightning electrokinetic abilities shot from either of its tips.

Other Abilities[]

Black Rabbit paper fan attack Izayoi

Black Rabbit's classic paper fan attack, that she seemingly conjures out of nowhere

Conjuring: She has been shown to be able to conjure objects. Most notably, she conjures a white fan that she uses to smack Izayoi when he decides to tease her, which is a running gag (though not experienced often because it is only 10 episodes long).

Story[]

Introduction[]

Off screen, Black Rabbit summoned a trio of three teenagers to the world called Little Garden: Izayoi Sakamaki, Asuka Kudō, and Yō Kasukabe. Each of these three children have a special "Gift", or ability, making them a "Problem Child" totally unlike everyone else on Earth. However, they all come from alternate realities of Earth. The three unrelated teenagers receive letters through various means. Upon opening their letters, all three simultaneously fall from the sky and into a body of water. They antagonistically introduce themselves, as Black Rabbits mentally notes that they have strong personalities- but that's why they're problem children.

As she prepares for an introduction, Izayoi suggests asking the person hiding in the bushes what they're doing here. The introduction was spoiled, and Black Rabbit was caught by the trio using their powers, which hadn't been named yet. They find Black Rabbit was their harmless and cute kemonomimi guide, but they victimize her anyways because they were cranky. Upon explaining the rules of the world of Little Garden, she conjures a card and table game, which Izayoi beats using a rule one would think is against the rules but technically wasn't. She led them to see a person named Master Jin.

When they met the eleven year old Jin Russel, Black Rabbit finds that Yō and Asuka let Izayoi go. She then transformed to her pink haired form and hopped off at super speed. She was frustrated at how far Izayoi had gone, as he had already made it to the edge of the world, and challenged a water god to a game. Then she was frightened to see a serpentine water god yell at Izayoi, and she saw that Izayoi somehow won. Seeing his prodigious gift, her expression allowed Izayoi to deduce with his sharp intellect that Black Rabbit needed help rebuild a community. After hearing him read her like a book, she desperately pleaded for Izayoi to help them defeat the Demon Lords, and that's why she summoned the three of them. Her desperation was swept away when Izayoi accepted, claiming it to sound like fun. She was overwhelmingly happy.

No Names[]

The community that Izayoi, Asuka, and Yō had joined were the No Name community, which needed their help to regain their former glory. Asuka, Yō, and Jin challenged a boss named Galdo to a Gift Game. Galdo was a werebeast, who challenged them in the form of a human, and fought them in the form of a tiger. He confessed to murder, and in the Gift Game, Asuka killed him. Only Yō was wounded, and Black Rabbit escorted her to safety and healed her. Before their match, Black Rabbit took them to Shiroyasha, a powerful Floormaster and former Demon Lord to get them appraised. That is where they received their Gift Cards, magical cards that read what the holder's Gift is, but most peculiarly, Izayoi's said "Unknown".

Following their victory that night, Izayoi made Jin Russel an icon for the No Name community, which Jin would slowly learn to accept despite being scared about it at first, thanks to Izayoi's advice. The next morning, Izayoi provoked a mysterious girl with yellow hair and red eyes to attack him, after sensing he was being watched while in a room with Black Rabbit. When Black Rabbit left the room, the two clashed. Jin Russel came in the room and stated that that was Leticia Draculea, a former ally. They both stopped fighting.

Black Rabbit was happy to see Leticia, but dismayed at the fact that she was owned by a high-ranking official named Perseus. Soon, Leticia was taken hostage by Perseus and his Gorgon, which turned Leticia to stone. Black Rabbit lost her temper and summoned the Spear of Indra, to the goons' apprehension. Before she could aim the powerful lightning attack, Izayoi pulled her bunny ears. The attack flew up into the sky and exploded like a firework. He reasoned that they had to talk to the boss so that they could request a Gift Game, so they could rightfully earn Leticia.

And so they did. Perseus was cocky and so he didn't try that hard to win, he just relied on his Gorgon and his Knights of Perseus. However, his ego was damaged when he discovered that Izayoi easily defeated 3 legendary beasts (off screen) so that he'd earn the right to challenge him. In their duel, Perseus was just a push-over, as the Gorgon did all the work but got easily defeated by Izayoi. Not standing a chance against Izayoi, he lost, and gave the No Name community what they bargained for: that the Perseus community would disband. As Judge Master, Black Rabbit declared the No Names as winners. Leticia was now saved, and after seeing that Izayoi was able to not only block, but shatter a beam that turns anything to stone, she was flabbergasted at Izayoi's power.

Salamandra[]

One day, Black Rabbit hid a letter invitation to a festival in another community. Upon Yō finding the letter, the three Problem Children ran off north and sent a letter to Black Rabbit saying that if she doesn't catch them in a day, they're leaving the No Name community for good. She became enraged, and her emotion made her transform to her super form (pink hair).

To the trio's surprise, she caught up to them even though they had Shiroyasha teleport them. First she caught Yō, then Asuka who hid in the crowd with Izayoi, and then chased Izayoi. Sightings of an aristocrat and a human fighting were reported everywhere, to the authorities' attention. Izayoi challenged her to a Gift Game: whoever touches the other first gets to ask of any request, which the loser must obey. She gladly accepts, and their superhuman game of tag eventually led to Izayoi smashing a building he fell off of so that Black Rabbit wouldn't be able to intercept him and win. The whole building started to fall, so the two of them destroyed it. The match ended in a draw, to Izayoi's dismay, which far exceeding the nonexistent dismay of being taken in by authorities for the mess they made.

Shiroyasha said she would pay for the damages, and they were forgiven. Sandora, the leader of Salamandra and the same age as Jin (11), acted friendly towards them. Black Rabbit later refereed a game against Yō and Ayesha with his immortal buddy Jack, a Jack-O-Lantern of the Will-O-Wisp community. Yō lost (to Izayoi's prediction). While Black Rabbit was refereeing the game, Izayoi and Shiroyasha stared at her legs with binoculars (temporarily), to Asuka and Yō's disapproval.

Then, Shiroyasha was enveloped in a black shield, where even she couldn't escape, and three Demons appeared. During their surprise attack, Black Rabbit led the citizens out of the amphitheater and then stopped the game with her Judge Master position. She declared a trial, where it was decided there was no misconduct, and it would resume in 1 week, and also, Black Rabbit would participate. The Demon Lord Pest AKA Black Percher, spread a pathogen all over Salamadra.

One week later, the game commenced. It was Izayoi, Asuka, Black Rabbit, and Sandora against the Grim Grimoire Hamelin: Weser, Ratten, and Pest. While Weser was originally just a Demon, now he had a ghostly form with far greater strength, enough to make Izayoi bleed. In the end, Izayoi beat him, without breaking a sweat, and Weser died without much remorse. Ratten was killed by Asuka, thanks to her new mech, Dean, which she found thanks to a fairy she befriended. Yō was infected by Black Percher's (Pest's) pathogen, which is why she didn't participate. With Black Rabbit and Sandora fighting Black Percher, despite their considerable strength, Black Percher was surprisingly powerful. They hadn't managed to hurt her at all.

Black Percher was the embodiment of 80 million evil spirits who died from the black death in the 14th century. When she learned her comrades were defeated, she released a wind that kills anyone who breathes it in: her Black Death attack. Black Rabbit rushed to save Yō and an innocent child, and when doing so, was saved by Izayoi from the "pandemic attack". Izayoi then proceeded to punch Percher, who still refused to take any damage. Meanwhile, Black Rabbit unleashed a trump card that would turn the tide of this battle.

She teleported everyone to the Moon, and activates the Gift "Sun Armor" from her Gift Card. Since the sun was what ended the black death and that is what Percher represents, she couldn't attack. Sandora confined her with rings of fire and Black Rabbit gifted Asuka's mech Dean the Spear of Indra. Dean launched the lightning attack at Percher, and she was defeated. The game ended, and upon returning to Salamandra, Izayoi made a covenant with Salamandra. Back at the No Name farmland, Izayoi directed the plan to restore the land.

Trivia[]

  • The reason she is named Black Rabbit is because when she was born, Black Rabbit's hair was pure black, but as she got older and absorbed the light of the moon, her hair turned to a lighter color, in this case blue. The other reason is that before her parents could give her a proper name on her birthday, they were killed by Azi Dakaha in order to let Black Rabbit escape.
