I didn't create the problems in my world, missy. I don't agree with them. I applaud you if your world is perfect and you fight every injustice you ever see. Is that what you do? Unfortunately, I haven't got the strength for that. I fight the madman, murderers and monsters in front of me because that's all I can control. And at the end of my life, when I stand in judgement before God, I hope He knows that I did the best that I could, and I left this world at a better place that when I came--
~ Auggie Smith’s speech and last words to Emilia Harcourt before being stabbed to death by Vigilante

August "Auggie" Ransom Smith, better known as Blue Dragon, is a supporting character of the second season of the HBO Max original streaming series Peacemaker.

He is the Earth-X counterpart of Peacemaker's dad, in which he is celebrated as a hero rather than a villain. Though, unlike his original counterpart, Auggie does not have supremacist beliefs, even in a world where the Nazis won WWII, and took over the world. Instead, he fights against the Nazi’s oppression and other threats the best he could.

He is portrayed by Robert Patrick.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Raising his Sons[]

I found a dead, rotting imp inside the Dodge engine block, like, three months later. I cannot stress how fucking bad it smelled."
"You think that's bad? The next morning I was eating my Cheerios, and there's something sticky in there. I think one of those little fuckers jacked off in there or something.
~ Keith Smith and Auggie Smith

Wearing an advanced armor, Auggie Smith adopted the alias Blue Dragon and became a renowned superhero and local protector of Evergreen, dedicated to fighting crime in the town. Eventually, Smith fathered two sons, Keith and Chris Smith, with whom he lived happily in his mansion, which contained a Quantum Unfolding Chamber that connected to other universes.

When Chris was twelve, Smith saw him running around the house, questioning his motives, though Chris claimed nothing had happened. However, Keith revealed to Smith that Chris accidentally let Imps from the Fifth Dimension into the house, with the creatures' remains scattered throughout the house. The next morning, Smith was eating Cheerios before finding an imp's liquid, much to his chagrin. Smith once met Karen, who became close to Chris.

Formation of the Top Trio[]

As Keith and Chris grew up, Smith trained them to develop their combat skills, allowing his sons to join him in his crime-fighting crusade, with Keith taking on the mantle of Captain Triumph and Chris taking on the mantle of Peacemaker. After completing their training, Smith and his sons began protecting Evergreen, acting as a superhero team known as the Top Trio. Among their missions, the team battled a Rainbow Creature, traveled to Gotham City to defeat the Ultra-Humanite and received a key to Evergreen Beacon of Bravery Award, and obtained various newspapers to add to his mansion's trophy room, as well as receiving a mural of them on the streets of Evergreen.

Reunion of the Top Trio[]

Family Reunion[]

Night, son."
"I love you."
"Love you. Love you too, buddy.
~ Auggie Smith and Keith Smith

Around January 2025, Smith was walking into the mansion to pour himself a cup of tea during the middle of the night. Before returning to his room, Smith unexpectedly encountered "Chris Smith", whom he greeted and questioned if he was sleepwalking before jokingly suggesting that he had seen a "ghost" based on his reaction, but "Chris" quickly ran off to the Quantum Unfolding Chamber. Six months later, Smith learned that Chris would be traveling to Bludhaven, but at night, he left the mansion and found "Chris" talking to Keith, expressing confusion due to his announced trip. However, Smith was pleased to see the Top Trio reunite, suggesting they celebrate while playfully fighting with Keith.

In the living room, Smith witnessed Keith teasing "Chris" about his hair, causing him to claim that "nothing" was wrong, which led Smith to recall Chris's childhood anecdote about the Imps from the Fifth Dimension infestation in the mansion, revealing to "Chris" that Keith had later told him about it. During the discussion, Smith struggled to remember the creatures' names, despite Keith constantly reminding him as they laughed, before Smith mentioned how he found a mysterious liquid in his Cheerios, leading him to assume a goblin had masturbated, making his children laugh. Despite the disaster, Smith stated that he would always love "Chris" and cheered for his existence with Keith. After a long discussion, Smith had to leave for an important event the next day before saying goodbye to his children.

Search of Chris Smith[]

I'm trying to think anywhere else he could be. I... What's the blood in the library from? You don't think it's one of those pills again, do you?
~ Auggie Smith to Keith Smith

Later, Smith and Keith discovered Chris was missing after finding a trail of blood coming from the mansion's bookcase. Concerned, Smith and Keith began searching for Chris around Evergreen to bring him back home. That evening, Smith called Keith to question his search, suggesting they contact Karen if she had seen him, though results were sparse as Smith pondered the source of the blood they found, refusing to believe Chris was using his pills again, although he reappeared shortly after, drunk, in his room.

Attack on Evergreen[]

Later, a Kaiju appeared in Evergreen and began wreaking havoc on the town. In response to the monster's attack, Smith and Keith prepared to fight it, regrouping as the Top Trio with Chris, who brought along his new companion and pet, Eagly. After donning their uniforms, Smith, his children, and Eagly took to the skies with their jetpacks before engaging in battle with the Kaiju, killing it and saving Evergreen before Chris left to pursue his new relationship with Emilia Harcourt.

Revenge for Chris[]

Confronting an Intruder[]

Personality[]

Auggie Smith is a loving and caring father, who treats both of his sons with affection and enjoys spending time with them. When he believed his son did not leave to Blüdhaven, he was happy as it meant they could have fun together, even calling himself alongside his sons "the three amigos." He enjoys sharing in fond memories and deeply worries about his boys, knowing them well enough to identify possible locations for his son when he went missing.

Despite coming from a Nazi-prominent universe, Auggie believes that the Nazi Party is corrupted and evil and is therefore against the extremist ideology. This is further shown when he was upset at Keith for chasing Adebayo, an African-American woman, followed by pointing out that he taught his children to stand against racism and white supremacy. Despite this, Keith, and presumably Chris, were nonetheless grown to become pro-Nazi superheroes, evoking Auggie's failure to raise his children the way he wanted which parallels that of his alternate self White Dragon and his family.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Blue Dragon Armor Capabilities: To make him more efficient in his crusade against crime, Auggie Smith doned an mechanically advanced power-suit with white and blue motifs. Strong and durable, the Blue Dragon armor granted him a series of abilities including flight, superhuman strength, and blasters for long range encounters.
    • Enhanced Strength: When wearing the armor, the Blue Dragon was stronger than natural human beings.
    • Enhanced Durability: The Blue Dragon armor protected most of Auggie's body, making him capable to withstand severe damages and attacks during his crusade.
    • Mounted Machine Guns: Auggie Smith used a pair of machine guns mounted on each forearm of the suit during his missions. He used these weapons for long-range attacks—killing numerous policemen when saving his alternate son and an alternate Harcourt.
    • Flight: The Blue Dragon used a jetpack directly connected to his armor to fly at high-speed on long distances.

Abilities[]

  • Expert Combatant: Even when not wearing his suit, the Blue Dragon was established as a proficient skilled hand-to-hand combatant. He was enough knowledgeable to train his sons as crimefighting vigilantes like him.
  • Expert Marksman: As a trained vigilante, Auggie possesses a good aim both with guns and improvised objects. He gunned down an entire patrol of policemen who were about to apprehend an alternate Chris. He threw a can right at John Economos' head, successfully hitting him before subduing the intruder.

Equipment[]

  • Blue Dragon Armor: During his missions as part of the Top Trio, Auggie Smith used a specialized suit granting him superhuman capabilities.

Facilities[]

  • Smith Residence: Auggie Smith lives a wealthy life with his two sons inside a large mansion located in Evergreen. The house also serves as headquarters for the family in their crusade as the Top Trio-Auggie proudly displaying souvenirs and rewards from their adventures in a trophy room. Similar to its alternate universe counterpart, the residence welcomes a portal opened on the Quantum Unfolding Chamber.
