Bonzle is a supporting character of Ninjago: Dragons Rising. She is an ancient spell created by the sorceress Gandalaria that banished the Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space before turning into a skeleton form and becoming one of the members of the Finders.
She is voiced by Michelle Creber, who also voiced Apple Bloom in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Bonzle was an ancient spell that was created by high sorceress Gandalaria from the realm Mysterium in order to help the Dragon Masters Egalt and Rontu banish a band of very villainous elemental masters known as The Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space because they feared not even the Departed Realm could hold their souls. But after succeeding in defeating the Forbidden Five, unlike other spells Bonzle fully-remained intact and began starting to act like a person. Bonzle quickly learned how to feel, and began to develop a feeling of loneliness, but being a spell also allowed her to travel across the any world she can imagine.
So with nothing else to do or what to do with herself, Bonzle began to wander all over the the realms for centuries to find the answers she needs, until she enters the realm of Ninjago where she meet with Wu, the younger son of the realm's very creator, where she opened up about how her time traveling the realms left her literally know one to share her existence with. To cheer her up, Wu told her that friends can also be as a form of family to her, and that she can be willing to be whoever she wanted to be regardless of what she might think she is, and taking his words to heart, Bonzle took up a new identity for herself and soon took form of a sentient skeleton and soon settled into Ninjago.
But after living a peaceful life in Ninjago for many years, Bonzle would then find herself caught in a colossal cosmic event everyone would call "The Merge", which caused all the sixteen realms to then fuse into one, and in the aftermath, Bonzle would find herself in a giant junkyard known as the land of lost things. Despite disliking the new situation she was in as well as finding out that another spell stopped her from leaving, Bonzle was able to find others stuck in the land who calls themselves the finders, the principals among them being the elemental master of fusion named Geo and one of Wu's old students & the master of earth named Cole, and she would see them as her new family, but she kept her identity as a spell a secret to them.
Season 1: Dragons Rising[]
A few years later, Bonzle would then meet one of Cole's friends the elemental master of water Nya, and a newest master with control over technology as well as a former inhabitant of the kingdom of Imperium named Sora, where she asked other Finders if they brought anything useful. She soon learned that Nya & Sora are on a mission to find 3 dragon cores created by the very master of the 16 realms, The Source Dragons, as realms merging caused reality to become unstable are set to self-destruct, and one of them happens to be powering a device that's keeping their home from being attacked by any hostile species in the land. To compensate for this, Sora decides to make the device work on it's own, later Bonzle warned Sora about her old mentor Dr. LaRow has come to take the core under her insane empress', and also later when Sora confronts her outside, Bonzle tried to stop her by using bones only to be pulled away by Geo.
Season 2: Dragons Rising[]
After the Empress is destroyed and the merge-crisis is averted, Bonzle continues to lead a peaceful life with her found family in the land of lost things, but eventually, her true identity of being a sentient spell soon became known to allies of the Forbidden Five, which first starts when she & the others were resting while Cole was out somewhere when they then saw the cloud kingdom: home to the writers of destiny, fly over them. But what seemingly looked like a nice visit soon turned into quick fight when a bunch of warriors with wolf masks came coming down & attacked them, but she soon learned that they only came for her & was soon captured, fortunately Cole arrives in the nick of time and they had to duck for cover, though they don't know what they want with Bonzle, she is about to explain it until a portal somehow opened & she urged everyone to enter it, which they do.
Upon reaching the other side of the portal, Bonzle and the gang found themselves in Cole's old Monastery where they meet another one of the latter's old friend Zane, the elemental master of ice alongside Alfonzo Frohicky, a sentient frog & the place's new caretaker. Explaining what they had experienced & where the rest of his pals are, Bonzle & co. learn that warriors they fought were under the leadership of an anthropomorphic black tiger named Ras who took over the Cloud Kingdom but were still confused on why he wants Bonzle.
This makes Bonzle decide to reveal her identity as a sentient spell as well as her past and it makes them all why Ras wants her for the Ritual of the Blood Moon because they believe that if she could seal away the Forbidden Five, she can also release them, and thus, she along with Cole & Zane decided to the quest to the realm of mysterium to find her old creator Gandalaria and ask her help to protect Bonzle until the Blood Moon passes.
However they were first intercepted by Dorama until they successfully managed to defeat him. Cole and Zane alongside Bonzle successfully located Gandalaria and asked her for Bonzle protection. After successfully defeating Administration Agents, Cole, Zane, Gandalaria, alongside Bonzle continued their journey to Wyldness to locate Magical storagehouse to protect Bonzle in here. Unfortunately their efforts were in vain as Jordana successfully managed to locate Bonzle and trapped Cole, Zane, and Gandalaria in electro cage by using her magic. Hoverer Arin managed later to save Bonzle before being stopped by Ras. Finally succeeding in capturing Bonzle, Jordana used her magic to turn Bonzle into the spell and free the Forbidden Five from the Nether-Space. Hoverer Ras and Jordana only succeeded in Nokt after sending Kai to the Nether-Space as Bonzle later succeeded to close the portal. After Bonzle was alongside Kai were trapped in the Nether-Space she apologized, but Kai reassured her that no apology was needed.

- According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, when she achieved personhood, Bonzle chose her identity and her body, including her gender.
