I've already found others who'll understand me. Who'll listen. Who aren't just copies... I am Bot, the one and only!
~ Bot in "Spring on the Breakfast!".
Where have you all been?
~ Bot's only line in the Inanimate Insanity II episode, "Objects in Mirror".

Bot, previously known as Bow and Bowbot, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Yin-Yang) of Inanimate Insanity Invitational. They are a non-binary contestant that competed in the third season, placing 7th in the show after being eliminated in Spring on the Breakfast!.

Built by Test Tube and Fan in Bow’s likeness to replace the latter.

They were voiced by Taylor Grodin and currently voiced by Shooshies.

Appearance[]

Bot was initially designed and built to be a replica of Bow, and was originally a robot that looks like a pink hairbow with eyelashes. They additionally gain extendable legs later on.

In "Home Is Where the Heart Is", Bot reveals their new design they drew up, which Balloon and Nickel assisted with in the next episode "Friend or Froze". This redesign now makes Bot appear as honeydew colored robot, now with the bow ends looking like butterfly wings and a set of Eton blue bead lights.

Personality[]

Originally since Bot started out as a replica of Bow, they were programmed as a valley girl and says her catchphrases. However, some of Bow's original catchphrase could not be comprehended by Bot, such as "chair" or "marshmallow".

However, as time went on and upon finding their own identity, Bot abandoned most of their Bow personality, and now developed a more friendlier and sympathetic personality, befriending all of those who don't antagonize them.

Bot is additionally a visual learner, having vast intelligence and artistic skills, and thus often relies on creativity for challenges. They also enjoy doodling and writing up monster stories in their free time, and as once shown was given a word search by Test Tube, indicating this trait.

Coverage[]

Past[]

Sometime between the events of the second and third season, both Test Tube and Fan created Bot as a mechanical Bow replica, as they could never get past the real Bow's death all those years ago and in order to replace the original. Test Tube built the robotic husk, while Fan used his knowledge of Bow's original personality to construct them.

Inanimate Insanity Invitational[]

In "Stranded in Paradise", since Bow received enough votes to compete on the season, but couldn't join due to her being dead and her soul only bound in the Purgatory Mansion, either Test Tube or Fan stowed Bot away on Boaty offscreen as a replacement for her. When Boaty crashes and explodes, Bot is launched out onto Paradise, much to the shock of the others, including MePhone4. (who sent Bow's invitation as a joke) Later, Bot is assigned onto the Pink Team, and wins alongside their team for the episode.

In "The Shame of the Name", when the challenge is to come up with a new name for their Pink Team, Bot is unable to come up with any, and shouts for their name to be The Pinkers at the last minute. This causes their team to lose, much to their dismay. Later, Bot is seen slumping on a rock, where Cabby attempts to comfort them, while taking some information about their Bow personality. Additionally, Bot glitches upon attempting to say the word "chair", hinting their creation. During the elimination ceremony, Bot receives the most votes for immunity.

In "Snapshot Showdown", Bot attempts the challenge of taking an embarrassing picture of the other teams. When going for The Sinkers, they are scared off when Life Ring uses a raft to cover themselves, causing Bot to mistake them for a monster. On the challenges 15th hour, Bot is unable to sleep during the night, in the lookout for the monster they saw earlier. Soon, the Sinkers attempt to scare Bot once again with the raft, but fail as Bot points out that the monster lost two legs. (due to Nickel not being there) They then take a picture of a front-facing Tea Kettle, which incidentally puts The Sinkers up for elimination.

In “The Overthinkers”, during a challenge where the teams must scale up the Paradise's volcano, Bot rides inside Cabby's drawer, but rates their ride "negative 100 stars".

In “Tragedy at 60 Feet”, upon finding out about Clover's strategy, Bot exclaims in disbelief.

In “Try Not To Laugh Challenge”, Bot attempts to tell Clover a funny joke, causing her to back away from them. Later in the challenge, Bot is made the nuisance of their team, and attempts to cheer up Clover, alongside Goo, causing the two to form a duo, known as the Cheer Factory. When they fail to get the others to laugh with several jokes, Bot calls in The Floor for assistance. However, their team wins upon Balloon laughing, (that places The Sinkers up for elimination on the other hand) which they were about to sabotage.

In "Best Served Cold”, when going to Candle for aura reading, they, alongside Goo hear the latter's aura being read. Upon wanting their aura to be read next, Candle stares at them in silence, being unable to read theirs's. Bot is kept on The Pinkers when the team rearrange, although their friend, Goo is moved to the other team. In the challenge, when Cabby mentioned chairs to Bot, and Silver Spoon saying marshmallows, they briefly spaz out upon hearing the words. Upon Bot being overwhelmed by Cabby, Test Tube drags them away to get some more ice cream for the challenge. When Cabby is eliminated in the episode, she attempt to ask Bot questions about their existence as a last effort for information. In the episode's stinger, Candle comes back to Goo to reveal Bot's lack of aura, as they tear out a chunk of their head, soon being the start of them realizing their identity.

In "Out of Body Experience", Bot attempts to hide their damaged area by wearing a hat. When asked by Balloon about Bow's commercials, they claim they don't know about it and express they haven't been feeling like themselves lately. Upon the remaining contestants attempt to take a group photo, a chunk of the episode's challenge's bridge falls on top of them, with Test Tube shoving Bot out of the way in time. Upon reading Cabby's file about them, Bot askes Test Tube about themselves, before the file burns in Test Tube's hands. (as because she was in Clover's body, meant that the lucky caused the fire) Without their file, Bot decides to ask Candle to read their aura again.

Later, MePhone4 askes Bot if they can pretend to not be in their own body, which they agree to do so. They then compete again Yin-Yang, but suffer a breakdown and requests a timeout. Candle and Test Tube then try to approach them, before Bot confronts them. Test Tube then has to come in and admit their creation and replacement for the real Bow, since she could never get over her death, and assures them that they are the same Bow everyone knows and loves. Angered by this, Bot berates Test Tube for her attempt at modeling them after somebody else, and walks off. Test Tube finds them sitting by the shore, and apologies to Bot, before MePhone4 discovers their true identity as well.

In "Title TBD", Bot reveals to Goo that Test Tube has installed extendable legs for them, alongside patching their damaged area. They also, during the period, prefer to simply be called TBD, due to them not coming up with their own separate name yet. (although are referred to as Bowbot by the others) In the challenge about making a cartoon, Bot pleads to be the artist for their team, which later they are seen doodling sketches for their team's cartoon. Later, when Goo bases his team's cartoon around Bot, the latter expresses distaste for it. When Goo is eliminated in the episode, Bot claims while they liked his cartoon, they didn't like how he portrayed their reveal, before sharing one last Cheer Factory with each other.

In "I Am Chocolate!", Bot remains silent through the episode, as Test Tube claims, that she gave Bot a voice change, thus only interacting with others with physical gestures. They also stare shocked when Cabby rejoins the competition. Later during the elimination ceremony, Test Tube becomes eliminated that episode, and gets to hear Bot's new voice before heading out, much to the amazement of the former and Paintbrush, and confusion of Cabby.

In "Pesty Besties", Bot forms an alliance called The Looney Balloonies with Nickel and Balloon, and beatboxes for their theme song. Later upon MePhone4 discovering a species of Inani-mates eating his Mile High Pie, Bot expresses in excitement about the creatures being adorable. For the challenge, Bot names their Inani-mate, N-Slash-A, that repeats everything that they say, much to their dismay. Not wanting N-Slash-A to be harmed in the tournament, Bot lies to MePhone4 about their Inani-mate going missing. After the challenge, Bot joins Nickel and Balloon in convincing Silver Spoon to join their alliance, which he agrees to do.

Sometime off-screen, Bot drew up a new design for them and name on a white sheet of paper, likely with a pencil.

In "Home Is Where the Heart Is", after The Floor (who was eliminated in the previous episode) gets in the way of challenges, including him accidentally tripping Bot during a basketball game, MePhone4 assigns the contestants to get rid of him. After the Loonie Balloonies attempt to chase The Floor, Nickel sarcastically questions the fact of chasing someone who can teleport, causing Bot to rebuttal back. Nickel also askes Bot if they have come up with their finalized name, to which Bot still claims on workshopping. Bot soon stares distracted at a passing butterfly, getting inspiration from it for their new design.

When the contestants set up a trap in the form of a picnic and capture The Floor, Bot takes pity on him and states of being confusing on having a entirely new outside. Because of this, The Floor escape the picnic basket and compliment Bot, much to their delight, which gives them an idea to confront them passively. As the other contestants come up with other ideas to capture The Floor, Bot is seen doodling a picture of him, while asking Balloon if caterpillars ever dream of becoming butterflies.

However, they are interrupted when finding The Floor inside the volcano, preparing to erupt Paradise. Bot then confronts them by stating that no matter if they went by a different name or took on a different appearance, they are still themselves at the end of the day. This leads Bot to save the day, as The Floor calms down, and effectively grants them immunity during the elimination ceremony. When approached by Paintbrush and Nickel, they now reveal their name to be Bot, and pull out a drawing of their new desired appearance.

In "Friend or Froze", Balloon and Nickel are revealed to have finished Bot’s new design between episode, putting the final touches on their new appearance. After the two finish, Bot admires their new look and thank Balloon and Nickel. As all cheer, Nickel informs them not to go rogue, as last episode, they didn't vote for Paintbrush, (despite them already getting out) which they admit in the Calm Down Cabana that they viewed them as a supportive figure. As Nickel plans for the Looney Balloonies members to go for the finale, he askes Bot if they have any ideas.

Later during the challenge, when all members of the Looney Balloonies attempt to formulate a plan against Cabby and Yin-Yang, Bot states that dream work makes the team work, having learned it from that morning. When watching both Cabby and Yin-Yang fail, Bot makes a heckle at the two, and later, uses their extendable legs to create a bridge for both Nickel and Balloon after getting an idea from hearing their words "bridging the gap".

They then make it to the second part of the challenge, where all contestants are engaged in a free for all on the Gladstonian Glacier. They attempt to attack by using their extendable legs, knocking out Nickel, before the others come up with an idea to counter. Silver Spoon grabs both their legs, before Nickel punts them off the glacier. They then extend their legs above the ocean to avoid electrocuting, but gets out of the challenge.

After the challenge ends, when Cabby agrees to let Yin-Yang have the Immunity Milk but leave it ambiguous on who will receive it, Bot is left staring shocked, as Candle explains whoever they vote for, it will end in a tie regards of which person received the milk. Bot hatches an idea where they split up the Looney Balloonies' votes against the two, and whoever uses the milk, the other will be eliminated. However, their plan is sabotaged when Balloon votes for Candle to be eliminated, causing them to gasp.

In "Spring on the Breakfast!", when MePhone4 revealed that he is doing a collaboration with cereal brand, Springtastic!, Bot becomes confused and proclaims, "Spring-what-stic?", having never been familiar with the brand. Their confusion increases upon the arrival of the brand's mascot, Springy the Spring, which they question if all the others remember him.

For the episode's challenge, Bot is beamed up to one of the three giant floating Springtastic! boxes, and paired with Cabby. In the challenge's first room, Bot and Cabby are assigned to not press the button in front of them, causing the former to giggle, and walk into the next room. In the second challenge room, the Loser Room, the two look around to see a variety of images of the contestants, including two of Cabby as Bot points out. As Cabby attempts to point out about Bot being a initial replica of Bow, she accidentally hurts their feelings. Realizing this, she instead offering to reset and chronicle correct information, as Cabby draws out a folder of them and attempts to ask Bot any questions about themselves, much to their discomfort.

In the Calm Down Cabana, Bot gets an idea alongside N-Slash-A to make the facts for Cabby, as she always wants them. Bot comes up with outlandish facts for Cabby by stating their full name is Botregard Q Kazoo, has been given the keys to thirteen different cities, and was the first object on the moon, before Cabby tells them to slow down. Bot continues to tell Cabby more facts about themselves, while they complete the room's puzzle.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that Springy heard all of their "facts" from the intercom of the cereal box, and requests to MePhone4 about selling Bot's likeness for promotional purposes as a new mascot.

The third challenge room, the Feather Room is easily completed by Bot and Cabby, before entering the fourth room, the Electric Fence Room. Here, Bot finds Test Tube inside, and hides behind Cabby, stating that she saw them last before getting redesigned, sending them into a panic, as they request Cabby to talk to Test Tube. However, both find that the Test Tube is actually a decoy, and Bot explains their relationship with Test Tube, about how they were designed in a very specific way, and how scary it would be if Test Tube or Fan found out about their new appearance.

When Cabby comforts Bot, the latter then askes what Cabby's parents were like, to which she is unable to answer, due to her not remembering their appearance. Bot calms her down, and the two realize the room's meaning, before passing on through. The two them make it into the fifth and final room, the Gear Room. While they search for the right gear to put into place, Cabby askes if Bot could tell a little more about themselves. Bot then responds that they enjoy drawing, writing monster stories, and kicking butt. Bot also insists that their pronouns are they/them, and like it when others learn more about them.

When Bot continues to talk to Cabby about N-Slash-A and being one of a kind, they attempt to fit a gear piece, before Springy tells the two over the intercom to trust the toy. After Cabby retrieves the right gear piece from the Toy Test Tube, the two are able to complete the challenge overall, before being confronted by Springy.

Springy then attempts to convince Bot to say his brand's catchphrase so that he can abduct them for cereal's new mascot, as MePhone already signed a contract that allows him to gain rights to their likeness. Bot becomes confused, as Springy further explains about using their unique design to create an entire line of toys. After continuance pressure by Springy, Bot looks up to N-Slash-A, and claims they've already looked up to those they trust and shouts who they are, before using their Inani-mate to fly away. Springy is then disposed of by the others as comeuppance for his harassment towards Bot. Bot then questions about the Springtastic! sponsorship, before MePhone4 decides to call it off, after viewing Springy's harassment towards them, causing Bot to hug him.

Later during the elimination ceremony, there is a tie between Yin-Yang and Silver Spoon, thus concluding that Bot, alongside Balloon, and Nickel will need to choose who to eliminate, otherwise risk themselves being eliminated instead. While Bot protests to make a straight forward decision, Balloon and Nickel ignore them, leaving MePhone4 to settle it on a tiebreaker, and conjures up three light orbs, revealing one will go out and advises them to choose wisely. When Bot chooses a light, it is revealed to be the false orb, eliminating them from the game, much to MePhone4's shock.

Bot then claims they aren't ready to go yet, before Cabby gives them a sticky note to write something on. Not wanting to see them go, MePhone4 offers Bot a position as a co-host, which they politely turn down, before being launched to Indefinite Island, where they are reunited with Goo. When they find Test Tube, Bot sticks the note onto their left wing, revealing their new identity, as she accepts and embraces them.

In "Blue Buried", Bot is aboard a boat alongside the other eliminated contestants, being drowsy of the early time they had to leave for the rejoin challenge, asking Walkie-Talkie if they could have left in the morning instead. Upon arriving back on Paradise, Bot steps out of the boat, but finds that Blueberry has dropped dead, much to their concern. In the rejoin challenge to find who killed Blueberry, Bot is paired up with Test Tube, and the two investigate around the scene, before Bot notices the words "CA" under one of his arms. While Bot attempts to denote the words, Test Tube jumps to conclusions and believes that Cabby was the one responsible for Blueberry's death.

Bot tries to explain to Test Tube that Cabby isn't as malicious, which she refuses to listen out of spite, before Bot attempts to talk sense into her that everyone can change. Soon after, Bot is approached by Cabby, who wants to talk to them about her files. When Bot attempts to apologize to her for making her think that she needed permission to use something that helps her, before Cabby corrects them about mischaracterizing them. Here, Bot gives her a new file with their updated appearance, as the two hug each other. (while Test Tube watches from the distance)

When MePhone questions his subjects about who they believed killed Blueberry, Test Tube and Bot accuse Candle of being the culprit, as Cabby's wheels would be squeaky enough for the others to hear it at night. Later when it comes to the pair of Nickel and Clover, they decoded in a scrambled message that had Bot's name in it, causing them to laugh, alongside Test Tube, as she revealed that it was a word cross to keep Bot entertained on the boat ride.

At the end of the episode, when it is revealed that Blueberry feigned his death to set up the entire challenge, he rejoins, while Bot leaves to go back to Indefinite Island. MePhone4 then stops them and apologizes about them not coming back, Bot ensures him about what Paradise can give to them.

In "A Jury of Your Fears", Bot, alongside the other eliminate contestants, come back to Paradise as the final episode's jury, and listen to each of the finalists' speeches. When it comes to Cabby, she attempts to apologize to the others, before Bot halts them midway through, claiming she played a great game and doesn't owe it up to anyone.

As the jury discuss in the jail cell, Bot points out to Nickel that because he was caught up in his feud with Balloon, it led to a tiebreaker that caused their elimination, and that Cabby is the only choice that makes sense. Bot then argues among the rest of the jury, before they suddenly stop with the sudden ambush of The Unvitational Committee, who imprisons Bot in the jail cell with the rest of the jury.

In "You Can't Do This Forever", continuing off of the last episode, it is also revealed that Springy has created a minion replica of Bot out of spite, much to their anger, as they vow vengeance on him. However, Springy reveals that he still possess the contract that allows him to continue mass-producing toys based on Bot so that they won't be special anymore, causing them to tear up in disbelief. Bot then can be seen staring at Springy's replica of them while in the cage.

Later on when Cabby tries to address Springy, she states that he is soulless, caring for nobody but himself, as opposed to Bot, who worked hard to become their own person after being trapped to life another person's life. Later upon debating about executing MePhone4, Bot is seen worrying, before they cheer upon the declaration of not executing him.

After making amends with The Unvitational Committee, MePhone4 eventually gets to jury voting on deciding the season's winner, which all go to the Calm Down Cabana to cast their votes. Bot decides to vote for Cabby, which eventually revealed at the count is enough for her to win Inanimate Insanity Invitational, cheering upon the reveal and pushing her to the Pic-Nix Tables. Later during the party, in one of the photos Candle takes, shows Bot being embraced by their creators, and can be seen chasing Fan.

When Cabby decides to construct a library as her prize, Bot can be seen listening to one of her stories that retell the season. When Cabby mentions that she charged towards Silver Spoon with full force during the third episode's challenge, Bot gives further detail that they also captured a photo of the occurrence, and stated it was a mess. The two then laugh as they spend time together listening to Cabby's story.

Inanimate Insanity II[]

Where have you all been?
~ Bot
BotII

Bot's cameo in Inanimate Insanity II, where they are featured from their extended legs down.

Due to being a spoiler-bound character that has relation to the lore of Invitational, Bot has a minor role in the second season's final episode, "Objects in Mirror." After Steve Cobs is defeated by Suitcase, they, obscured with their long legs in order to prevent us from seeing their body, walk over to their creators, Test Tube and Fan, question where everyone has been, evidently having survived deletion following Me being unplugged and spent the episode looking for everyone. Later, they attend a concert held by Spoiled Lemon, but remain obscured within the crowd.

Trivia[]

  • Bot's self discovery arc serves as a foreshadowing metaphor for the contestants, as it is revealed that like Bot, they were all initially created with one sole purpose outside of their control, but would attempt to break through said control and become their own person beyond what they were written as.
  • Prior to Bot being added as a new contestant in Inanimate Insanity Invitational, a concept was proposed that Bow would have indeed competed in the third season, using a VR headset to create a hologram version of herself, which would’ve implied Bow would’ve actually participated in the season.
  • In the crossword puzzle during the ARG to hype up Episode 18, Bot was one of the answers, hinting they were alive and would appear in said episode. However, their role was merely a cameo, likely making this more of a red herring.
