John Brent is the main protagonist of the 1970 film, Beneath the Planet of the Apes the sequel to the 1968 film Planet of the Apes.
He is an astronaut searching for George Taylor and his crew only to end up on the Planet of the Apes.
He is portrayed by the late James Franciscus.
History[]
John Brent journeys with his skipper Maddox on a rescue mission to find George Taylor and his crew. His spaceship crashes and kills Maddox. He journeys alone and encounters Nova wearing Taylor's dog tags and realizes that Taylor is on the planet. He discovers that the planet he is on is apocalyptic earth inhabited by apes. He finds Taylor together they try to avert the destruction of earth and kills General Ursus only to get killed himself by the other gorilla soldiers,
