Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue is the overarching protagonist of the 1994 dramedy film Forrest Gump. He served as a military man and was Forrest's best friend outside of Jenny.
Story[]
Bubba was first seen in an army bus where he gave Forrest a seat in an army bus, mirroring Jenny's introduction. Bubba and Gump became good friends during the war. Their friendship ended brutally when Bubba was killed in Vietnam. His last words, "I wanna go home", stuck with Forrest. Bubba then became a driving force in Forrest's goals, causing Forrest to develop a seafood company in his honor and giving away money to his family.
Personality[]
Bubba is selfless, friendly to everyone, and an unintentional wisecracker, talking about shrimp for so long for comic effect. He thinks Forrest is like a brother to him and the two became friends right away. He loves his family, as he was upset that he couldn't see them one last time before he died.
