Bud Robinson is a major character of Disney's 47th full-length feature film Meet the Robinsons.

He is the grandfather and patriarch of the Robinson family, He likes to have his clothes on backwards.

He is voiced by the film's director, Stephen J. Anderson, who also voiced Tallulah Robinson in the same flim.

Biography[]

Bud is first seen in the future in the year 2037, having been startled by Lewis, who accidentally bumped into him. He ends up laughing and asks Lewis if he has seen his teeth anywhere, as he has been digging holes in the yard all day without finding them. He starts the conversation by joking about the smiley face drawn on the back of his head. He repeatedly replies that he does not know where the garage is and reveals that he did not know it at the time, but he had a Woodchuck living on his arm, hoping it did not have rabies. Lewis begs him to take him to the garage, and Bud agrees, exploring the Robinson home using the travel tubes. He introduces Lewis to all the family members in the household, with Franny being the last one. He discovers that her lead frog, Frankie, has his teeth and manages to retrieve them.

Later, he joins the rest of his family, along with Lewis, for dinner, during which he feeds a meatball to the face on the back of his head. Later, when Lewis tries to fix Carl's PB & J contraption, it splatters peanut butter and jelly all over everyone, including Bud, who gets covered in the two spreads. When Lewis tries to apologize, Bud is instead impressed, telling him that he "failed." He then joins the other Robinsons in giving a toast to Lewis. When Tiny the T-Rex makes its presence known, Bud is left in shock upon seeing the dinosaur. He then participates in the battle against Tiny. When Uncle Art takes down Tiny, covering it with a large amount of pizza dough, Bud believes that he and the Robinsons have achieved victory. However, he is horrified when a now-berserk Tiny emerges from the dough, prompting Bud to run for his life. When Tiny angrily grabs Carl, Bud and Tallulah desperately grab onto the robot's legs in an attempt to rescue him, but they, along with Carl, end up being thrown into Laszlo, crashing into a wall.

Bud does not rejoin the fight after that. Once Tiny is brought back to its senses by Wilbur, Bud rejoins him and his family. He cheers with the rest of the Robinsons when Lewis accepts Franny's offer to be adopted, but he is immediately shocked to learn that Lewis is from the past. He sadly watches as Franny tells Lewis that he should return to where he came from. After Wilbur reveals that one of the time machines was stolen by the Bowler Hat Guy, explaining why Tiny is with them now, Bud looks up at the T-Rex, who is busy rocking itself. He then observes an angry Lewis running off after discovering that Wilbur never intended to take him back to see his mother. When Franny tells Wilbur that he is grounded, Bud gives his grandson a disappointed look before turning his back on him and going back into the house with the rest of the Robinsons.

Later, when the future is altered by Doris and the Bowler Hat Guy, Bud becomes a slave of Doris, now under her control. As a mindless drone, he obeys Doris's orders to kill Lewis. When Lewis manages to repair the time machine and survive, the mind-controlled Bud is forced to watch as Lewis escapes.

When Lewis returns to the present, he uses Lucille as his test subject instead of himself. She tells him the date of her wedding, revealing that Bud is her husband. Both Bud and Lucille are impressed by his invention and adopt him after the science fair concludes. Upon arriving at their house, Lucille and Bud take Lewis to the observatory, where he spends all night writing down ideas for his future inventions.

Physical appearance[]

When Bud has young, he had brown hair and he was wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt. In the 2037, Bud he also wears dentures, he has white hair and brown eyes, has brown glasses. He wears an blue long sleeved shirt with multicolor bow behind the neck, a yellow shirt underneath, burgundy trousers with a light green belt, yellow socks and black and white shoes.

Bud, alongside Bowler Hat Guy and Tallulah, was voiced by flim’s director Stephen J. Anderson.
He was the first major chracter in the Robinson family to meet Lewis Robinson.
