Bulldog Browns, more commonly known as Beebs, is the deuteragonist of the web animated series, Monkey Wrench.

Biography[]

Past[]

Beebs comes from a race known as Walrinians. Somewhere down the line, he left that part of him behind to start a merc company with his friend, Shrike Sanchez. In spite of this, the two don't manage to get much work accomplished as they end up having a low rank on the leaderboard, mostly due to Shrike breaking so many contracts.

Ghost Egg[]

The duo eventually take up a job to serve as bodyguards for a guy named Nobert. Beebs promises to treat Shrike to pizza after the job is done (and also to make up for the last one they did which involved them removing superticks from a space whale for 25k pixels).

When they reach Nobert, Shrike is dumbfounded by their client's behavior. Beebs opts to be professional and gets the details on where they are escorting Nobert to. Once they are informed that they would be spending six days taking Nobert to Oberon, Beebs convinces Shrike to put up with Nobert while assuring him that the fella is harmless.

Before they can go, they are attacked by soldiers sent by Queen Tyneen, including her number two, Ricket, who informs the duo of Nobert having a 10 million pixel bounty. Hearing this, Shrike begs Beebs to claim the bounty, but Beebs lets Shrike know that they are not breaking anymore contracts before grabbing him and Nobert and escaping.

As the enter blue space to get away from Tyneen, they have a run in with Scratch who demands they hand over Nobert, so Shrike tricks him into revealing his location to blast him out of blue space, allowing the two to continue while understanding that they would be dealing with a lot more bounty hunters if Scratch and Tyneen know of Nobert's bounty.

They eventually reach Oberon where Nobert is about to sign off on the contract and conclude their business. Before he can though, they are ambushed by Scratch and Tyneen, resulting in an all out brawl for Nobert. Just then, another player enters and binds everybody else before taking Nobert. Upon finding out this person to be the assassin Kara, Shrike breaks free and gives chase. He is too late though as Kara delivers Nobert to the one who placed the bounty, which turned out to be Nobert's own mother who wanted Nobert to come home.

This reveal has Beebs accept defeat with dignity while he carries a bawling Shrike away.

Lythop Liberation[]

Somewhere down the line, Beebs found a deal on artificial gravity they they could use for the Bucket and sends Shrike to go order it. When Shrike instead comes back from having given the Bucket and unneeded paint job, the duo have to take up another job to make up for the wasted money.

Beebs finds one that appears trustworthy enough in which they have to wrangle up a group of creatures known as Lythops to save them from a planet set to implode in three hours as detailed to them by the client Dr. Agness who claims to be from L.A.W. Science. As they make their way through the planet though, Beebs starts to become uneasy and suspicious of the job as he realizes that not only is there a serious lack of tectonic activity for a planet stated to crumble in three hours, but that they are only saving the Lythops and not any of the other creatures on the planet.

The eventually find the Lyhtops who ambush and capture them believing them to be hostiles. Beebs clears up the tension by assuring the leader that they mean no harm and were actually sent to save them. Upon bringing the Lythops to Dr. Agness though, Agness begins revealing a set of tools she has that were made from Lythops while going over their properties. Hearing and seeing all this, Beebs puts the pieces together and attempts to take the box they put the Lythops in back, only for Agness to snatch it away and kill the Lythops in front of them before revealing her true colors.

Beebs realizes that Agness had been lying to them all along and was never actually with L.A.W. Science before she attempts to "thank" the duo by using the weapons they unwittingly helped her make to kill them. Agness's armor proved too tough for the duo to dent, but the eventually come out on top when the last Lythop acts as a sword for Shrike, destroying Agness's superweapon, and turning her in to actual L.A.W. enforcement.

As the officials take Agness and the Lythop away, Beebs asks what will become of the leader now that he is the last of his kind. The officers assure him that they will find him a place to call home before offering Beebs and Shrike a job to deliver a package for them. Figuring that they can be trusted due to actually being legit L.A.W. officials, Beebs accepts.

Us & Them[]

On their way to deliver the package, Beebs is unable to get what happened to the Lythops off his mind as he asks Shrike if they are cut out for the merc life. Shrike tells Beebs that they can't have regrets, just before the duo get a distress call.

While Beebs worries about arriving late if they take the call, he figures that L.A.W. would understand over a situation like this, and they take the call to find it was sent by Scratch. As Scratch begs them to help, Shrike demands a deal, to the disgust of Beebs. Once Scratch promises to cancel Shrike's debt once they get them out of there, the duo help them out and have them board the Bucket. They are far from done as Scratch demands them to tow them to a station for repairs.

Beebs soon learn he can communicate with the creature, known as the Agari, that attacked Scratch, finding out the reason being that Scratch had taken their friend. He soon finds that Scratch and Shrike had been fighting which resulted in the Agari's friend being corrupted.

Beebs has to communicate with Us in order to get some help. Together, they save Us while giving Them a mercy kill before parting ways with Us as friends. Upon bringing Scratch to a station as demanded, Scratch attempts to back out of the deal by destroying his evidence of the deal only for Beebs to reveal he had his own evidence, thus putting Scratch in a position where he had to honor the agreement or lose his placing on the leaderboard which would get him in trouble with his boss.
