Cactus McCoy is the main protagonist in the games Cactus McCoy and the Curse of Thorns and Cactus McCoy 2: The Ruins of Calavera. He's a cowboy and a treasure hunter, who was turned into a walking cactus as a punishment for stealing a gem.
Biography.[]
McCoy was once an ordinary treasure hunter until one day his employer Hex tasked him with finding a certain gem. As it later turned out, a curse was placed on the gem. This curse turned McCoy into a walking cactus (which is how he became famous). Later, when it became known that he had become a victim of the curse, Hex sent his men after him. McCoy's goal throughout the game is to defeat Hex and his men and return the gem to its place before McCoy himself is petrified. In the second game, Ella (McCoy's longtime treasure-hunting rival) is kidnapped. McCoy's task is to find Ella and defeat her kidnappers.
Personality[]
McCoy is a very brave man. He is ready to rush into battle with any opponent in order to achieve his goal. He is also willing to save Ella even despite their long-standing enmity, which shows that McCoy has a certain nobility. It is also implied that McCoy is a highly successful treasure hunter. For example, he quickly found a gem, which Hex instructed him to find (and it is implied that this is not the first assignment that McCoy was given). And throughout both games, McCoy constantly finds some treasure.
