“ | It's up to us now. We have to return this egg. We have to keep it safe and carry it to Xadia. | „ |
~ Callum deciding to return the egg of the Dragon Prince to Xadia and end the war between elves, dragons, and humans. |
Prince Callum is one of the three main protagonists (alongside Ezran and Rayla) of the 2018 animated Netflix fantasy series, The Dragon Prince.
He is the stepson of King Harrow, and one of the two princes of Katolis, who goes on an adventure to get the Dragon Prince to his mother and end the war between eleves, humans, and dragons. In Season 4, he becomes the new High Mage of Katolis.
He is voiced by Jack DeSena, who also voices as Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender and MK from LEGO Monkie Kid.
Personality[]
Callum has a dry sense of humor, where he makes jokes or with his friends when they are not in danger. Callum also wants to learn magic because he was always interested in it, but was never able to be good at anything.
Callum also can lash out at others when they do the same or to make people less insecure about themselves, although he mostly does it for good reasons and apologizes when in the former situation. Despite his flaws, Callum is a selfless individual, as he cares about others more than his own.
He also refuses to use dark magic, as he knows it's wrong, and only used it once when a dragon was about to get killed by Soren and several human soldiers, and refused it's temptation even when he was very sick and was likely going to die from it. Callum is also very protective of his brother, and would become paranoid when he thought he was in danger when Ezran was planning a birthday party for him.
Despite all of this, Callum has a great desire to learn more magic, and Aaravos notes that him using dark magic once had caused him to become tainted by darkness and he says Callum would fall right to his hand. His desire to become more powerful was so big that he didn't destroy the Key of Aaravos, despite him knowing that it could cause bad things to happen. Callum also had some problems accepting Rayla back because of her leaving him, but he came to reconsile with her later on.
It's revealed that Callum is deeply regretful for using dark magic, and tried his best to avoid using it. However, Finnegrin made him do it when he told him he planned to kill Rayla out of spite for Callum punching him in front of his crew, since it made Finnegrin look weak.

- Callum so far only knows how to use the Sky Arcanum. He later connected to the Ocean Arcanum in Season 5.
- Callum learned a distressed fact in Season four; having used even one dark spell left a taint in him that Aavaros can take advantage of, having even possessed Callum to be used as a way to communicate with Team Zym and Zubeia.
- In Season 6, Callum cleanses himself by intaking starlight to heal the hole in his soul caused by the dark magic.
- He is addressed as high mage by the staff of the castle after the time-skip. Though it remains unknown if he is still considered a prince, he is referred to as "Prince Callum" by Opeli in "Rebirthday" and "Domina Profundis" and Claudia in "Infantis Sanguine," implying that he still has his previous title.
- Since Callum is voiced by Jack DeSena, it is funny to mention that Callum is a good artist and is very detail when it comes to it unlike Sokka, whom despite being a creative person is not a good artist when it comes to drawing.
