Calypso is a major character of 2024 Roblox RPG game Block Tales, serving as the deuteragonist of the game's fourth chapter, Excavation Exploration.
She is the sister of Kyoko and first mate of Captain Trotter who was found in the scorched dunes by the latter, and as thanks for saving her, she attempts to repay him back by helping him uncover the Temple of the Red Sun. Along her journey, she ends up crossing paths with the player, who is attempting to obtain the Firebrand coincidentally located in the temple, and Calypso is assigned as an ally to them, assisting them in battles.

Biography[]
Calypso is the sister to Kyoko and both grew up wanting to explore the world. Eventually, Calypso adventured off to the Scorched Dunes but got lost as she believed she wouldn't make it out of there. That is when Captain Trotter and his pirate crew discovered her presence and took her in. There, she became a first mate of his crew and wanted to assist him in discovering the Temple of the Red Sun to pay back his kindness. Kyoko states that she has since been awaiting for her sister's return as evident in her dialogue in Chapter 3 and 4.
Calypso first appears after Captain Trotter scares away the pirates threatening the player for trespassing onto their campgrounds. Calypso introduces herself alongside the captain, as Trotter offers to team up with the player to help them uncover the Firebrand located inside the temple. The player solves many puzzles to reveal the temple and fight some other pirate who attack them, and Calypso eventually notices the crewmates fighting each other as she tells them to quit it.
All eventually meet outside the temple, and enter it. In one of the rooms, the player carelessly steps over a tripwire, and Calypso saves them from being caught in the trap. When the player askes her why she is with the pirates, Calypso explains her backstory of how the crew found her and her goal to repay Captain Trotter by assisting him. The player solves more puzzles inside the temple and battle many sentient hieroglyphics with Calypso's help. The player and Calypso eventually enters a room containing a shovel, with her questioning if it feels off that a shovel in the middle of the room feels off. The Great Flocci, a genie who the player angered earlier in the chapter appears from the shovel and insists on not granting them a wish they requested. Calypso claims to him if he simply did grant the player's wish, they would simply leave him alone. The Great Flocci after some thinking agrees to her claim and allows the player to use their wish. Calypso tells the player to wish for something important to them and not her, before they wish for the shovel. They obtain it and are able to dig through sand pits and meet back up with Captain Trotter at the ancient bridge. Captain Trotter is reading the hieroglyphics on the wall with Calypso deducing that the ancient gods want death and sacrifice. After some chatting, all three walk onto the bridge and are suddenly ambushed by the Temple Guardian.
The player and Calypso defeat the Temple Guardian all they soon land inside the Red Sun River with Captain Trotter now concern for the lives of his crew members, as Calypso calms him down. They eventually discover the the remaining corpses of the pirate crew nearby, much to Calypso's shock. The player and Calypso nonetheless continue their expedition through the river and eventually trek up the peak of Mount Red Sun where the Firebrand is hosted. Calypso stand by Captain Trotter as he laments his loss after obtaining the treasure as he no longer has a crew to share it with. The two notice the player about to obtain the Firebrand and Captain Trotter halts them in their tracks, believing them to be a traitor who wants to kill them as sacrifices to the Ancients. Calypso attempts to snap him out of it as he only will foretell the prophecy of the Ancients. Captain Trotter now believes Calypso to be protecting the player, shoves her to them, and then steals the Firebrand to battle the with.
After his defeat, Calypso attempts to snap Captain Trotter out of his delusion and orders him to back away from the Firebrand. Captain Trotter refuses as he now believes that Calypso is partially responsible for plotting his crew's demise, and then attempts to lunge at her and the player. Calypso quickly parries him and counterattacks that causes Captain Trotter to fall off the mountain and into the magma below. Calypso immediately realizes her mistake and the player attempts to state that it is alright. Enraged by them, Calypso rants how this would have been avoided had the player not been obsessed with collecting the Firebrand alongside the stories about the Ancients wanting death and sacrifice, before she questions where the sword went after Captain Trotter fell. The two are quick to realize that since a sacrifice was made, the Ancients were summon as a result, who thank the two for Captain Trotter's soul before their fight.
Calypso has no choice but to team up with the player again to defeat the Ancients. The Ancients once again reiterates on their claim for the sacrifice and reveal that Captain Trotter's soul is now housed inside the Firebrand before they explode. Calypso apologizes to Captain Trotter in spirit for not being able to save him and thank him for his gratitude of saving her from the dunes back then. The player obtains the Firebrand after Calypso is done talking to Captain Trotter.
Additionally, Calypso's card to summon her in battle can be obtain in Red Sun Temple [6] B after placing all the orbs on the black pedestals to open a hatch containing the card.

- Calypso is currently the only summonable ally who is not also an enemy in the game.
- In the original script for Chapter 4, Calypso was originally going to be the main antagonist, as she would been the leader of the Mafia that the player would have encountered after they are captured and would have been forced to do labor. The player, alongside Kyoko would have eventually escaped during the night and discover why Calypso would have suddenly turned on her own sister.
