Captain Quaid is a supporting protagonist in Tangled: the Series, being one of the main characters of the Vardaros arc. He is the retired sheriff of Vardaros, who is convinced to get back to action by Rapunzel and her friends. He is voiced by Reg E. Cathey.
Personality[]
Quaid is gentiled, and justice-oriented. During his gold years, he made the people of Vardaros happy to have someone to believe in ans rely on. However, after his retirement, he lost a bit of his innocence, blaming the people of Vardaros, because they did not fight alongside him when he needed, for his retirement. After Rapunzel's visit, he became more understandable of the people of Vardaros, not trying to make them become something they're not, but still being compassionate with them, and making Varadaros and its people, overall, better.
Biography[]
Quaid was the sheriff of Vardaros for many years, fighting against buglars, and having even arrested Flynn Rider and Lance Strongbow a few times. He made the people of the city better people by they having him as their hope symbol, and Vardaros, a better city. Until the Baron, a powerful and dangerous crime boss, contracted a criminal-for-hire, knwon as The Collector, to scare Quaid away. Despite being brave, Quaid couldn't handle The Collector alone, and the citzens of Vardaros didn't help him, just flew away. Considering them ungrateful, Quaid retires from his job and exiles himself in a house on the top of a hill, where he takes care of his little bee farm, along with his bees.
Some years later, the Baron is defeated by Princess Rapunzel and her friends, but she does not like the idea of leaving Vardaros in that state, a careneless city, where everybody hates everybody, and nobody has a drop of goodwill. After seeing a statue of Quaid, Rapunzel convinces her friends to help her bring Quaid back. Anthony, the Weasel, a former enforcer of The Baron, tries to takes over the city, but Quaid, motivated by a fraud Rapunzel made up, to him to think he was still able to help Vardaros, fought the crime in the city very well, and brought hope to the people of Vardaros. However, when he discovered that the robbery he prevented, was made up by Rapunzel, he again, though he could never be the symbol he once was. Weasel attacked Vardaros, having hired the Collector to defeat anyone who possibly tried to stop him. He tangled Rapunzel's friends, and knocked out Princess Rapunzel, leaving only Vex, Quaid's deputy and most devoted believer, to fight against the Collector. However, Quaid appeared to defend her, and threw a pot of pheromonies to her, who threw it at The Collector's face. The pheromonies attracted Quaid's bees, who attackted the Collector from inside his unpenetrable armor, defeating him.
Quaid would then turn into the sheriff again, with Vex as his deputy. When Rapunzel tried to bringthe Goodwill Festival from Corona to Vardaros, Quaid said that the people had different interests in Vardaros, and she should let Cassandra help with the events at the festival, as she was more "edgy", like the people in Vardaros. When they accidentally brought as seneezeweasel, a dangerous animal, to the festival (they were supposed to bring a gopher) Quaid and Vex tried to capture it, but it delivered a blow to Quaid that throw him to a cliff, and just didn't fell because Vex was holding the rope he was grabbing. After the sneezeweasel is defeated, Quaid thanks Rapunzel for making Vardaros a better place, and says that he hopes she finds what she wants at the end of her journey. He is problaby still the sheriff, and making Vardaros a good city along with Vex.

- He was the first person to ever arrest Flynn Rider and Lance Strongbow.
- Considering Vex said that Quaid was already retired before she was born, and she's a teenager, he was problaby out of service for, at least, one decade.
