Carly Witwicky is Spike Witwicky's love interest in the 1980s Transformers animated series, then later became his new wife.
Throughout the animated series, Carly is a minor character whose role is relegated to being someone who offers technical assistance to the Autobots and later becoming the wife of Spike Witwicky. In The Transromers cartoon, Carly first met Spike Witwicky and Bumblebee at the Robots Video Arcade. Later, she encounters Ironhide, who was standing guard during the test of Wheeljack's Immobilizer and blames herself for the device's capture by the nasty Decepticons led by Megatron. Carly attempts to retrieve the device and is captured by Megatron, but is resulted by Ironhide, Bumblebee and Spike.
Carly first met Spike and Bumblebee at the Robots Video Arcade. Although Spike was younger than her by a year and not nearly as bright (Carly was attending MIT while Spike still wasn't even old enough to drive), she became immediately intrigued by him and his friendship with the Autobots. After befriending crusty old Ironhide and helping save the Autobots from the threat of the Immobilizer, she was accepted as their new human buddy. While Spike was initially less than thrilled that she seemed more interested in the Autobots than in him, he gets over this at the end, inviting her out for milkshakes. The Immobilizer
Carly and Spike later went on a dangerous mission to Cybertron to retrieve more Cybertonium, an element the Autobots needed to survive. Carly's technical know-how once again proved useful as she, Spike and the Dinobots outwitted Shockwave and stole some Cybertonium. She was very impressed with Cybertron's design and layout. Unfortunately, the trip had several drawbacks; among them, Shockwave disintegrated her car (Decepticreep!), and she twisted her ankle.
- She bears a similarities with Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man (part of Marvel Universe).
