History[]
Carol has a tumultuous history with Hal Jordan, who grew up close friends due to their respective father's working relationship. The pair spent the night together, but their romance was short-lived as Hal ended up breaking her heart due to his fear of commitment.

Some years later and Carol has taken up a leadership role at her father's aeronautics company. She arrives to scold Hal as he has arrived late for an important flight mission and the two bicker about Carol has taken a backseat to her true passion, flying, in order to be more business minded. Carol acts as Hal's co-pilot during the test mission, where they must out-manoeuvre two AI drones. Hal backstabs Carol while in the air by using her as bait for the drones while he lures them out to successfully destroy them. She is furious by this and confronts him. The heads of the military defence team want Hal fired but Carol sticks up for him and lets him keep his job.
She comes to his apartment later and asks if they can talk, when Hal suggests they go for a drink. Carol and Hal take a trip down memory lane, specifically their romantic past and she also questions Hal on a situation while in the test mission, asking him why he choked up during the test and wonders if it's something to do with the tragic death of Hal's father. Hal emotionally retreats and storms out of the bar.
At a party hosted by the Senator Hammond, a friend of the Ferris' family, Carol is celebrated for her business efforts publicly. The Senator's son, Hector, is angry at his father and knock's his helicopter out of the sky using his telekinetic powers, which sends it hurling through the party and heading straight for Carol, who was seen rushing to save people in danger. As the helicopter descends towards her, she is saved by Hal Jordan in his Green Lantern guise, who shields her using a force fields.

The next day Carol is in her office when the Green Lantern visits her to see if she is okay after the ordeal. Carol moves closer to thank him and suddenly realises it's Hal and gasps in shock. Hal flies them to the roof and he explains everything to her and they share a romantic moment, although Carol is disappointed in Hal's decision to quit the Green Lantern Corps.
After a devastating battle with Hector, in which the Senator was killed right in-front of him, he turns to Carol for help. She sits him down and tells him he is a lot braver than he realises and that he is a lantern not because he is fearless, but because he is able to overcome fear. This inspires him to face Hector again. However, when he goes to confront him, he sees Carol, who has been kidnapped and suspended in mid-air.
He manages to trick Hector and rescues Carol from death but they are both attacked by Parallax. Hal, now in Parallax's clutches, is saved by Carol who triggers a missile strike from a fighter jet which distracts Parallax long enough for Hal to escape and transform into the Green Lantern. He flies Carol away to safety and she expresses how worried she is for him, he assures her everything will be alright and they embrace.

Hal manages to defeat Parallax for good out in space and he returns back to Earth to see Carol. He tells her he has to spend some time away due to his duties as a Green Lantern but he'll be back. The two share a kiss and Carol smiles in awe as she watches him fly away to save the galaxy.
