Carrie Krueger is one of the supporting characters in The Amazing World of Gumball series. She's a ghost who is a Elmore Junior High student, and is the girlfriend of Darwin Watterson.

She is voiced by Jessica McDonald.

Appearance[]

She is a translucent ghost. Her long fringe always covers one of its eyes, although it is not always the same eye. She also wears a skull-shaped bow tie, similar to the Monster High series symbol. From the second season she looks a little smaller and her eyes are bigger.

Personality[]

Despite being categorized as 'emo', Carrie is not depressed all the time. She claims to enjoy horror movies and everything to do with the dark, but still, she's also been shown to possess a sweeter, more sentimental side, such as when she mistakenly ended up watching a movie about Ponies and admitted to having found it touching, or in "The Scam", when she was willing to go away with Gargaroth forever to the 'world of the dead' if this meant saving all her friends, and school. Also, unlike stereotypical emo girls, who usually just hang out with other emos, Carrie is usually very social. She has been repeatedly seen talking and/or interacting with other characters animatedly, either being with the other girls in the tree house of Molly, having lunch with Gumball and Darwin in the cafeteria, or talking to Tobias' older sister Rachel, among others.

Biography[]

She is categorized as 'emo' in the first season, due to the fact that in addition to wearing hair in the stereotype style of this urban tribe, she has stated that 'the only feeling left is pain'. In any case, despite the fact that she may have originally wanted to be loved that is out of her personality, Carrie has gone a little further throughout the series, coming to contradict this statement, since it has been in several times a long trail of emotions ranging from worry and fear, to affection, happiness, and even seems to be fully capable of feeling love. She's in Miss Simian class at Elmore Junior High. 'You can't eat or drink, it's a fantasy, and everything you swallow will literally come out of your body'. Despite this, Carrie is able to handle objects with her hands, and although it has been repeatedly determined that to be touched, she must have a physical body, this has also been contradicted, since it has been seen that she is capable from touching others, and on other occasions, it has taken another person to become a ghost like her, in order to touch her, such as when Darwin kissed her in the Halloween episode, or when her father had hug her in "The Mirror". Either way, how her body really works is still unknown.

Her first appearance in the series was in a cameo in the chapter "The Third".

Trivia[]

  • She is named after Freddy Krueger and Carrie White notable villains from A Nightmare On Elm Street and Carrie.
