Heroes who live for adventure and tend to have no superhuman abilities but rather rely on cunning, skill or sheer luck to survive in their ventures.

Likewise, they tend to be on the hunt for treasure or lost civilizations and can be similar to mercenaries in that regard, but are often not inherently greedy, but rather thrill-seekers or simply devoted to their cause. A classic example of an adventurer would be Indiana Jones.
