My fatal flaw. That's what the Sirens showed me. My fatal flaw is hubris. (Percy Jackson: That brown stuff they spread on veggie sandwiches?) No, Seaweed Brain. That's HUMMUS. Hubris is worse. (Percy: What could be worse than hummus?) Hubris is deadly pride, Percy. Thinking you can do things better than anyone else…even the gods.
~ Annabeth Chase telling Percy about her fatal flaw.

Arrogant Heroes are cold and condescending heroes who have excessive pride as a prominent part of their personality. They can also be cocky and self-centered and think they know better than those smarter than them, but mostly not very much. It can be a fatal flaw for the hero, especially an exaggerated sense of pride, who eventually learns to overcome it.

Note: Pure Good heroes never fall under this category, as arrogant heroes are instant Anti heroes due to their usually rude and sometimes selfish nature; that is a corrupting quality whereas Pure Good heroes have no corrupting qualities even if some arrogant heroes can never fully turn evil.
