I watched you rule. I learned that if you trust no-one you will always live in fear. Your hatred came from fear, not strength. I loved and respected you, but I have to rule the kingdom in my own way. I have to do what I believe to be right.

~ Arthur Pendragon defying his father, Uther.

Benevolent Rulers (also known as Conquerors) are the good counterparts to Tyrants. They are powerful heroes who seek to conquer or have already conquered a certain area, and try to make it into the better place for their people. Their territory can range from a city, to a particular region or country, to the entire world, to an entire galaxy or galaxies, to even the entire universe or cosmos. However, unlike tyrants (who are cruel and oppressive leaders), benevolent conquerors tends to treat their land more honorably, or at least try to protect from evil threats.

Examples include Aslan, Liu Bei, Leia Organa, and Ansem the Wise.

Note: Benevolent Rulers MUST either have limited power or have chosen to limit their power, do not add conquerers who express unlimited power.
