A marketing strategy that's proven effective over the years is to create a charismatic character to promote a certain product or service, but sometimes the advertising agency goes further and adds a hero who has good and noble intentions, and usually revolves around the product in question; either using it for selfless means or eradicating it to "save the world from its inferior quality."
Red and Yellow & Sjal (with the Bangboo) are examples of commercial heroes.
