Deities

Deities of religion, folklore or mythology, that are either actively heroic (such as Thor or Hercules) or are benefactors to heroes in some fashion. Demigods, which can refer either to half-deities or minor deities depending on the context, are a sub-category. Some deities themselves are heroes in their own right as they use their immense power to benefit other people, while others could be neutral or villainous depending on their actions.
