The opposite (and often arch-enemy) of Xenophobes, Supremacists, and Genocidal Villains, these are heroes and heroines who stand up to protect their (or another person's) culture from persecution and who fight for equal rights among human beings (and in some media this includes other sentient beings such as aliens, elves, mutants, and so forth). Egalitarian heroes highly object to discrimination and will usually be seen trying to break down racial, religious or social barriers.
