~ Daffy Duck in the episode "Daffy Duck Hunt".

Egomaniacal Heroes (also known as Heroic Egotists) are heroes who exhibit extreme amounts of vanity, self-absorption, egotism and narcissism. They constantly think that they are more important, intelligent and special than anyone else is (even if they are or are not as much as they believe). This may be done to provide a fatal flaw to be over-come in the narrative, or may indeed just be part of the hero's core personality, living in awe of their own perceived power/glory and egotistical behavior.

Egomaniacs are also the direct opposite of Selfless heroes and the good counterparts of Egotistical villains. However, it's quite rare for an egomaniac to come across as selfless or sympathetic unless they meet the criteria or are shown to be truly selfless & supportive of others despite their egomania (ex. Mr. Satan, Neru Mikamo, Sonic the Hedgehog's Sonic Boom incarnation, and Tengen Uzui).

This category should not be confused with Arrogant heroes. As Egomaniacs are just obsessed with themselves where Arrogant heroes are just characterized with pride (although, both categories are very easy to overlap with each other, and they tend to go hand in hand).

NOTE: Egomaniacs believe they are better than anyone else, thus putting themselves first before others. Therefore, Pure Good heroes can never fall under this category since they often care with others first instead of themselves.
